Thank you for this video. We can do many things ourselves with little effort thanks to the wonderful people who share their knowledge on TH-cam. Once again, many thanks.
Hi this is very helpful as I want to paint my fender and need to release that piece of skirt for access to paint thoroughly..question please..when you take out the two screws is the trim stuck to the panel in any way or is it simply held in place with the screws alone?..thanks
Mine has a bit of rust near the edge which I need to repair, unless I find a matching one (same color) at the car recycling yard. Had i known it's so easy to remove, I would have done that repair this past Summer. Now, I'll have to wait until the cold weather leaves.
There are a few more torx screws to remove than you show, one not quite visible on bumper and some of the sill torx screws to aid refit. There is also a rivet and torx screw on the plastic deflector trim near to the door part of the wing. To refit new wing I suggest purchasing the torx screw female bodywork expanding nut grommet. There’s also a sill grommet clip. These are best getting new rather than using the old. 1 sill clip and if I remember it’s 7 female expanding grommets.
Are all passat fenders simular and able to be removed the same way? My passat doesn't have that thing on the outside that you pull back to disconnect that cable.
if you're talking about the clear plastic side turn signal light near the back of the fender (that Mark calls 'side repeater' at 1:35), it was moved to the side mirror in either 2004 or 2005 year model. However, if you need to replace a rusted 2005 fender (as I did), it's fine to get a 2003 or earlier one with the light and just leave it unconnected to a wire since your mirror has the signal and you'll just have a non-functional clear plastic piece in the fender, which is fine.

How long did it take you to complete this?
I type 'PassatB6 front wing removal'. First video is a Passat B5.5.
Same 🙁
As he tears a portion of the side skirt and rips it beyond repair and you can’t get the side skirts originally anymore for the vehicle after
hi is this the same as 2008 TDI passat cc?
You have absolutely destroyed the side skirt! 💀
Is it exactly same for B5 sedan?
