    You are so detailed and clear in your explanation! You helped me figure out a problem from a different tutorial I couldn't wrap my thoughts around. It's because the person didn't explain as thoroughly as you. Amazing as always! Thank you Belle!

    This "lesson" is a great example of what an excellent teacher @sqlbelle is. First, she offers three different methods for "sheet swapping." Second, and even more importantly, she goes well beyond the mechanics. She explains the "why" as well as the "how." Moreover, she uses several seemingly small techniques to precisely guide the viewer/student. For example, she uses a virtual marker to point arrows or draw circles around the point or area she's referring to. It's much more clear and sticky than cursor waving. As I was trying to learn sheet swapping, I looked at several other videos. Hers was the best by far. I've watched it twice and may return. KUDOS and thanks!

    Thanks sqbelle...been watching a few of your videos...all very understandable. I use something similar to 2nd method for "instruction overlays" (i.e. top toggle is semi-transparent which shows the users how to use dashboard - helps when user may only use dashboard once a week/mo and may forget how to use and you can't be there when they use it). Keep up the great tutorials!

    Thanks to this video, I was able to swap sheets using the parameter drop down. The problem I found is that the content of the sheets being swapped is static and my sheets also have filters. Is it possible to be able to swap the sheets based on changes to a filter value? (that way you no longer need to use the parameter dropdown and not confuse users with 2 dropdown options)

    Thank you for the video, it really helped me learning how to use parameters and filters to good effect. The only issue I'm having is that my charts don't fill the entire view. They are set to entire view, the titles are hidden, they are all in the same container and I don't have the push pin showing. If anyone has a solution, you are a genius and I appreciate you!

    • @sriharshk4987

      You may create two blank calculated fields, and add one to rows shelf and other to column shelf. Do the formatting to hide labels and pane dividers and you should be good to go.
      This happens to all charts that do not have pills in row and column shelves such as bubble cluster chart, pie, etc

    When I add the calculation to the filter for the charts I want, why do my charts disappear on their own worksheet except for the first worksheet I added the calculation to? They'll show in the dashboard as normal but not in their own respective sheets.

    Great explanation! Question...do you know if any of these have performance differences over the other?

    • @sqlbelle
      @sqlbelle  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Thank you Stanley. I think there would be some. Using parameters will require more logic, but can be more flexible are you're not limited to just 2 selections. Hiding containers and other objects could affect performance, because you are potentially processing more even if you're showing just a few of them.

    Thank you for this detailed instruction. However, I ran into some issues while using the 1st Method. I noticed my visualizations (Graphs, pie chart, etc) with filters disappear as soon as I add and configure the "Chosen Chart" to the Filter. For example, I have a sheet for the Top 10 Sales Person that is created by using the filter to filter by Top 10. The Pie Chart disappears as soon as I add and configure the "Chosen Chart" filter.

    • @sqlbelle
      @sqlbelle  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Hello - there are a couple possibilities that come to mind. First, check the "pin" icon, it's likely it's set to fixed width or height. Second, depending on the type of chart, there may not be enough details to take up the full space. You may want to check if that chart is set to show entire view. Hope this helps.
