Spark pay has COMPLETELY tanked in the last 2 weeks. The app is basically worthless now compared to food. Base pay for curbside is as low as $6 and shops are down to $9-10 for small orders. Tons of people don’t tip either. I’m focusing on food delivery again now
I’m right there with you. They have literally gone to the dogs. I turned ic back on and I loved sparks but I literally wouldn’t of taken either of these orders and both people didn’t even tip…
I had a shop & deliver, the lady wanted 4 bedding sets. They didn’t have one in the size she wanted. I sent her a text asking if she wanted pics of what they did have, sent her 3 or 4, she picked what she liked. I also messaged her explaining they didn’t have full size bottle of creamer she wanted, they had the same size/flavor in store brand or smaller bottle of brand she wanted. She got like 8 pillows & 2 curtain rides too. Even with all that I was done shopping at her house (1.8 miles) within an hour. She thanked me multiple times for communicating with her “they usually just tell me they don’t have it & leave it at that.” Then she handed me $20 cash tip in addition to the $33 tip on the app. Ended up making $67 total for an hour job. Sometimes it pays to take that extra couple minutes.
Simple rule of thumb avoid picking perishable items first EVEN if the "suggested route" tells you to. You should be picking dry goods and saving all of meat produce frozen etc for last so you dont get cold chain canceled
Their suggested list said, "Shopping for perishable items last reduces cancellations due to food safety standards". It had me get the deli items in the last few (only two items after - one pharmacy and one impulse aka by the checkouts)
Spark shopping represents around 80% of my accepted orders. It actually pays better, I have total control of my time since the wait time at the pick up spots starts to be too long to be able to have an order each hour. With the shopping I have the opportunity to txt to the customer and choose the right replacement, which increased my customer rating, because it dropped with deliver only as I get penalized for mistakes done by walmart associates. And finally my best advice is to choose a walmart neighborhood as the delivery radius will be way smaller than a supermarket one.. thank you for your video Mike ❤

I work the NHT Walmart. It’s close to home and most of the time the orders are decent. Can make $1-300 a day depending on how long you do it. Depends on tips

I would do a shopping order over curbside as curbside can take upwards of an hour to get at some locations. Yes it's happened to me, my avg wait on curbside is 20-30 mins. I've complained with no improvements. With the shopping orders they pay more in my area, and I usually can get 2 done an hour. I will shop produce or perishable first if they are in the beginning of the store. Produce takes the most time as you want to select the best, as well getting the weights correct. Don't worry about the perishable timer as you have plenty of time to shop an deliver. On a side note all gig jobs have pros an cons, spark by far gives the best incentives.
I do Walmart spark. I only do shop and deliveries in Indiana. We don’t use paper bags. Nor does it ask how many bags we use. I make more money doing them. Yes it makes my acceptance rate drop but as long as my customer rating is in the green, I don’t really care what % it is. I do have a question about miles. I was told that you can’t count the miles from your house to the store and also when your done working. Only while your actually doing an order. Is that true? I love Walmart spark and how it allows me to make extra money when ever I need it.
You mean count mileage for tax deduction? Your delivery business starts at your home, not a pickup destination. Typically to 'drive to work" or "drive home from work" would consider work being a brick and mortar place where you dont "work" until you clock in or clock out. I have my office at my home to drive to at night to review my day's deliveries, file receipts, etc, as should you. And in the morning I leave my office ( or even turn on spark now in my house) to start the deliveries. Discuss with your accountant how that should be documented as far as miles. But why would you wait until you get to a Walmart before turning on spark now? So turn it on as you drive out your driveway, so you can feel better that you're officially "on the clock".
idk about you or anyone else, but in my statistics and my projection, im in a $1000 week on spark driver and doordash. im only working like 4 hours a day i make about $14-$50 per order in my area. i have the personal shopper job experience, i worked for Walmart's online grocery pickup for a few years, i usually average $40 an hour in my area, i only take the pickup orders and in between i do door dash hell ill do both at once sometimes. my days this week have been the best I've made 100-125 per day this week. again, I'm only working 4 hours per day. you just have to know what you're doing and figure out a path for you that works to make the most money.
I think spark is smart. First they significantly reduced the base pay, and then they added 3 more orders for one base pay. So basically you do 3 additional free orders from them. Very smart move

I’ve only done spark for a couple months now, and also only do S&D about 75% of the time. When I am done with reviewing items the next screen is asking me how many bags I’m going to use. Then go to checkout. Then after doing the QR code I have to track down an associate for those small spark paper bags. I know where they are but we can’t grab them ourselves sadly. It’s a pain. But I have a ton of backups in my trunk as well.
Wow never did that before. Been doing spark for maybe a year now.. never had the bag thing going on.. just pull up scan and bag most of the time no cart check unless its like 200+ of food.
Spark in NW Florida does show how many bags Walmart expects us to use but we don’t pay for bags here and I’ve never seen paper bags at a Walmart lol our bag count is looped into the total item count
Dad used to do Spark until he got his account deactivated. Before that incident, he said that the past few months he was struggling to reach his quota each week because he would spend 2 hours in between orders waiting for a new batch to come in. Not only on his zone but other zones within the L.A. County area as well. Also pay has been ridiculously low for large orders that he doesn't bother taking them unless there's a good tip. Not to mention, the lack of transparency when it comes to California guaranteed earnings adjustment in which he receives none with Spark.
Shop n delivery is the best option you have control of everything but with curbside other people shopping for you so be prepared for missing tips and bad customer ratings thats the only time my rating goes down im never doing curbside again SHOP ONLY
You need to set your own picking order when spark in our area Walmart its all over the place so i do pharmacy orhouse wears or clothes first it takes the longest then go down the list

I have one clerk and only one clerk who says I'm not supposed to shop and bag as I go. But that makes no sense, since then I have to answer how many bags I used before I even scan the the QR code so I wouldn't even know. I always bag as I shop, even if I'm cart checked, they just grab 3 or for items out of the bags, scan em and I'm heading on my way.
Shop pay tumbled after walmart bought out DDI. I never shop for u der $20 for any app. Nor do i take no tip orders my absolute minimum for shop is $10 tip i preffer higher when possible. I even turned down a $61 shop order today 80 items 150 units the tip was $20 but that order will take to long. I like to finish each order within a hour longer orders would require me a higher tip
The orders you accepted weren’t a great representation of what SD orders can be. I get you can’t always choose because of your schedule or whatever, but it might’ve been helpful to ask for positive experiences with pics. I’ve loved SD orders for the most part. Like any other order, you have to learn which ones to take (miles, number of items, pay, etc.). In my area, you can get 30 items or less for between $20-40. You can also preview the items, which can be very helpful if you want to avoid heavy items or other items that may be undesirable. Also, once you learn how to use their system (aisle, section, module/position), it’s relatively easy to shop. It’s one of the best systems I’ve used for SD. There are times where I will shop out of the programmed order if it’s having me go in a weird order aisle-wise. It depends on the size of the order. For smaller orders, I’m not worried about picking perishables early because you have an hour or so before the order cancels if it’s not delivered by the time limit. Another out of order option I think you mentioned is OTC meds or stuff away from grocery. I do that first to get it out of the way.
North Versailles Walmart also has paper bags… there is a sign but its high up… the employee literally unbagged my items and sent me to re-bag using the paper bags… Ill just stay in my normal area😂
So funny 😂 yesterday I went through the same exact experience with the cheese.. same brand, same choice (I did the same exact thing) and situation.. the matrix got bugged out after this.. 😅

How long after accepting the order does it let you take to get there. The closest walmart to me is 15 min away. Usually orders pop up thay say start shopping like immediately.

It doesn't ask you to put in the bags it already has it before you do it so next time you do it shopping look at it it going to say item then they going to say Quantity the quantity is going to always be double
I mainly do spark shopping orders and I have never been told to use paper bags. I think this is dependent on location/market though because I know in the Portland area they use paper bags that are located by customer service area. I’m in the Los Angeles area and we just use the bags available at the self checkout. Also, it does not always ask you in the app how many bags, which is weird it’s not consistent every time but sometimes it does ask (which is before you even scan the QR code so it’s like you have to estimate it).

Also base pay on spark shop and deliverys always looks good vs doordash and instacart, but you gotta take into account the sheer size of these stores and the fact that youre provably commuting back to the same store ifnyoy dont get a trip from a competing app on the way back. Sucks people werent pretipping. I almost never take base pay shop qnd delivers if they dont have a tip EVEN if the base pay looks good a lot of times those will be the customers that will give you problems and possibly put your account in jeopardy.

Yeah shop and deliver sucks unless the customer tips well. I had an order for 36 items yesterday but the customer tipped $15 so i definitely took it. But 9 times out of 10 they wont tip on shopping orders so theyre not worth it.
If you would follow ud end up going back to same aisle you been in. I know Spark inside and out. When you preview the order, thats when to make a game plan

Hi everyone can someone help here ..my tips was aprove and comfirm on Monday but Walmart didn’t sent to my branch wallet ..I am going to get next pay ? This is my first time on sparks.
Since it's been 2 weeks since your comment you may have figured it out that your week runs Monday through Sunday, which that week pays out the NEXT Tuesday. So if you worked a Monday, you'll see it paid the Tuesday a WEEK after.
I have recently started and I cannot see how this is worth it. I keeping turning it off getting frustrated. This week two orders one with 9 deliveries and 38 miles when I selected it it said 35.00 when I finished it said 15 and it never had any tips to start with.. Time said 1.5 hours I figured drive time 1.5 and 5 minutes per stop 45 min. Mine was actually right. Next order Sd 3 items 11.00.5 miles. Shop time long. I had to wait for alcohol to be unlocked.. I had to Wait for the customer to respond. It had a locked entrance.then verify ID was not fast either. This 3 item order took 45 mins. Total time for both about 3 hours for $26 and around 41 miles. In the solo app for my area it says the average spark drivers make around $25 an hour. How? I have yet to see it. I work fulltime and DoorDash. Along with taking care of a family. I cannot fit in 75 deliveries to get an incentive. At this point every time I turn on the app I quickly turn it off so I stop volunteering my time. Any helpful hints. I am only 22 runs total.
Yeah item count isnt good.. no tip on it.. not worth it imo.. Would have to be like 30 for that. But hey I made like 110 today in like 4 hours on spark. so not too bad. Took 2 deliveries and 2 shop and pays for the day. Paper bag thing is a no.. never had that.
Wal-Mart Spark has completely gone down the toilet... use to be a decent gig but offers are down at least 50% ... many are as low as $11 which is quite an insult

Worst advice that you can give is to trust the app when it comes to shopping deliveries, each order is different and oftentimes the items are completely randomized and not a numerical order. My advice is to shop from the back of the store to the front if it's purely grocery items, or to take care of all of your non-grocery items first and then work back to front. Basically you end up picking frozen goods and produce last and then head straight to the registers. My second big piece of advice is not to do Spark lol
They literally just started that paper bag bs in Pittsburgh. You now have to pay for paper bags. They're saving the environment even though literally everything else is made out of plastic.

While generally I do enjoy the content .... these videos are sometimes so triggering just due to the fact that these "Shift" videos are lacking so much of the general "hustle" that you would expect from using these apps. Even the time of day of these orders would be at a time I consider garbage time to do spark compared to food delivery..
Finally got a text message for me to go on the app and start earning I waited like 3 months now I'm not really excited lol lol but at least I can earn a little extra money on the side with holidays coming up I think it depends on your area of how long you have to wait to join spark or when other spark drivers quit or get deactivated but yours will activate soon.

I shop at the same Walmart Supercenter weekly, and so I'm intimately familiar with the store. My wife give me list with about 30-35 items. It has never taken me less than 2.0-2.5 hours from door to door.

After contacting Kristoffer_Support from the comment section, I’m happy to say I’m back on Amazon flex.Much love to everyone who commented

Shop n delivery is the best option you have control of everything but with curbside other people shopping for you so be prepared for missing tips and bad customer ratings thats the only time my rating goes down im never doing curbside again SHOP ONLY
I like spark shop and deliver in my area.
Nice what's the average item count you're doing?
@@YourDriverMike usually 11-25 items per batch.
You need to set your own picking order when spark in our area Walmart its all over the place so i do pharmacy orhouse wears or clothes first it takes the longest then go down the list
It’s look sound good to do spark drives but the problem we do shopping what if we cannot find out the items 😮or is not available
A note for other drivers. He did accept some really bad orders. Cherry picking these orders will garner you much higher pay. Spark is awesome!

For real. My threshold is $1 per item on S&D.
@@robthames5065 yes he is a genius
I just started Spark and sometimes they ask if you want bags and then other times it just skips over that so it’s weird
I have been doing alot of spark shopping orders and thats probably one of the worst i have seen in the past 2 weeks in my area.
Yeah 18 bucks for 28 is kinda bad.. I had one for 28 items and was 29 today.
Preview the shopping list. Keep some bags in your car. You might not need a cart.
Pick and bag as you go.
Scan checkout. Exit!!
But here every single Spark order is cart checked do every bag will have to be gone through. I just keep bags in my car n bag em n toss them in car.

Does Spark tell you about heavy items? Unlike UE Walmart orders.
I sit at Walmart with my app on and don't get a delivery at all.

Hey Mike , how about the Draiver app? Just like its spelled Draiver? Hope you might have something on this one for us all Thanks !!!
I do that first to get it out of the way.
what happens if you fail at the time allowance?
North Versailles Walmart also has paper bags… there is a sign but its high up… the employee literally unbagged my items and sent me to re-bag using the paper bags… Ill just stay in my normal area😂
So funny 😂 yesterday I went through the same exact experience with the cheese.. same brand, same choice (I did the same exact thing) and situation.. the matrix got bugged out after this.. 😅
Some things you can improve upon

How long after accepting the order does it let you take to get there. The closest walmart to me is 15 min away. Usually orders pop up thay say start shopping like immediately.
I think its 25 min.
Spark has no problem recommending a zig zag thru the store. You need to really analyze the order before you go in.
To be fair, you'll have better luck with higher paying shops when closer to the store.

How would you officially track your business miles with proof.
Mine doesn't have paper bags
They pay there Walmart employees way more than the spark employees which makes no sense since we take all the risks
It doesn't ask you to put in the bags it already has it before you do it so next time you do it shopping look at it it going to say item then they going to say Quantity the quantity is going to always be double
Mike - this is what I do. I know my Walmart well. If it’s pharmacy I do those first and then I go to dairy down to produce.

How'd you get only shop and delivers without messing up your metrics with rejecting the standard curbside pickups?
You dont have to reject anything tho.. just dont accept them?

I've never done the shop portion of it. As the spark driver, do I pay for these items ? And it reimburses me ?
If you would follow ud end up going back to same aisle you been in. I know Spark inside and out. When you preview the order, thats when to make a game plan
Nabbed a $33 order for 0.7mi, and 25 items. Sorry DoorDash, Spark is taking priority for a while. Its a license to print money in my zone.

Where I live it’s 15 minutes on the highway to town. 30 minutes is nothing.
Thank you so much
I’ve never done Walmart spark but Walmart is the closest place to where I live.
Any referal codes for spark?

Wow, why is the Apple App so much cleaner/intuitive and logical compared to the Android version?!
In the last two weeks I’ve only gotten two orders a day
I hope your eye gets better soon! Not fun!
In a world where whoever designed that, doesn't know about the Steamdeck...
at least your area is dicent my area they want us to do 4 orders for that 13 doller price
Yesssss it’s been weird with pay lately
Wal-Mart Spark has completely gone down the toilet... use to be a decent gig but offers are down at least 50% ... many are as low as $11 which is quite an insult
Not 3 anymore! They are checking entire list!

Sucks to be you lol I got 3 Walmarts within 2 miles of my house 😂
Yep! Three Walmarts n 3 Home Depot n 2 Lowe’s
