Hello! I had the carpal tunnel syndrome surgery month ago. So far pain does go away... I have suffered from pain more than ten years... Next month I'll have hip replacement.

I have been doing dumbbell bicep curls and lateral raises for most of my life and never had issues. But recently I started feeling some slight intermittent numbness on my thumbs but I don't know what is causing it. The biggest change that I made was starting on a spin bike a few months ago and did not realize how much pressure I was putting on my hands while pedaling. The symptoms actually seem to improve when use the dumbbells so I am not sure what is going on.
Is it safe to do 15lb dumbbell bicep curls and lateral raises if you have intermittent symptoms in your thumbs and fingers?
Is it safe to continue running with these symptoms?
How can I figure out activities are causing them?

Thank you For the great video! You taught me a new way to work with my posture through the neck and shoulders.
What happens if the exercises you showed are performed with compromised posture like someone with rounded shoulders and forward head position?

Thank you. Happy to hear that this gives you some workable ideas. Regarding your posture question, generally what we see is that with some less-than-optimal positioning there is a reduced range of motion available in these exercises and excessive muscle tension. Our recommendation is to use these as part of your postural retraining process and go GENTLY to prevent a buildup of excessive tension. Best of luck!

@@ZHealthPerformance It occurs to me now that it may be effective to practice these exercises lying down to support a long spine. Would you suggest that as a modification for those with compromised posture?
