SBCC's Series 50 Years of Social Change EP. 4

SBCC is committed to environmental health for all our resident partners. In 2019 SBCC acquired an acre and ½ of vacant land in the middle of the city of Wilmington. SBCC and Master Gardner Octavio Ramirez were committed to creating an oasis in the middle of an urban environment that would be developed in partnership with local residents. This model of co- creation with residents is central to SBCC’s relationship with our resident partners. Together we cleared the rocks and debris , erected 65 raised beds and changed the landscape from a vacant lot full of trash to a beautiful monument to collective action and partnership.
