  • I needed a place to store my Wood and keep it dry so I decided to break up a few pallets and make a really useful Log Store / Wood Store for the Garden.

    Thank you for the perfect video I needed to inspire my wood store. I dont have all the tools you do but managed to make something fairly decent following your basic principles

    Great video! 👏🙂
    Thanks so much for sharing your project with us. My mission for this week is to build a log store out of reclaimed pallet wood. Luckily the only piece of kit you used that I don’t have was the table saw, but I can just use the circular saw instead.
    Your’s looked so good with the added facings and with it being stained... it made such a difference to the end result!
    This will be my first time building anything from wood, but I’m hoping it will turn out okay. Wish me luck!😂🙏🏼

      Thanks Phill.😊
      As long as I come out of the project with ten fingers, ten toes, and all limbs present and correct, I shall call it a massive success!!🙈😂
      Out of curiosity, which wood stain did you use on your wood store? I really like the colour of it.
      I’ll take a look at your other videos for inspiration for future projects.😃

    You have a great tool to strip the palet; where can I buy it?

    • @PhillWyattProjects
      @PhillWyattProjects  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Search "Pallet Breaker" on Google. Most large DIY stores sell them.

    Hi, great informative video! I’m looking to build/make something of a similar size to this. Firstly, could you tell me what the tool was at the beginning that you used to lift the timbers on the pallet? And the upright supports in the corners, was that just some 2x2?

    • @PhillWyattProjects
      @PhillWyattProjects  3 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Thanks Mark. I made a video showing all the tools I use to dismantle Pallets (Link Below). The uprights are basically 2 x 2 more or less yes. th-cam.com/video/xaZbmwm5XQU/w-d-xo.html

    This looks pretty small. How many do you think I’d for a winter’s load of logs?

    • @PhillWyattProjects
      @PhillWyattProjects  ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Yea I made it small as I don't have much space. For a winter's load of wood I would suggest one about 3 metres wide x 2 metres high if you have the room.

    See your "skids" are they roughly 4x2?

    • @PhillWyattProjects
      @PhillWyattProjects  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Hi, yea roughly 2x4 but 2x3 would also work just fine.

    How is the fence holding up I was thinking of doing one in pallet wood but worried about swelling

    • @PhillWyattProjects
      @PhillWyattProjects  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      It's doing great. Strong. If anything the slats shrink slightly over time as they season. I give it a new coat of stain each spring.

    lol....i came here to get help building a log store out of free pallet wood.......but saw that u need thousands of £££ of equipment to build it.......lol

    • @PhillWyattProjects
      @PhillWyattProjects  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      You don't need lots of tools to build this. A hand saw, and a Drill are the 2 main things you need.
