      dont know if serious but just going for chill games would probably save many players sanity. All meta ing that happening last years. I think i started playing slightly before it, back then we had some mechanics but i just searched wiki's and used google to find out why my estates got rebels and why i should not give all provinces to the estates.
      Meta ing too much is almost the same feeling that drugs or exploiting gives, when you know how high you could be, nothing comes close to that feeling even though that place is bad for you.

      @@gabri-immortale this. I love to watch Red Hawk even though he's not very good. He rolls with whatever happens (no restarts, no save scumming) which is a real niche as most videos are try hard.
      Try hard is fun too (it's why I watch thestudent and other's like him) but if you want to compete with that you have to bring it. If not, much better to find a niche.
      Other niches are succession games, achievement hunting, MP, role play, etc.
      Ps: I am glad Red Hawk stopped with making mistakes on purpose (no CB Ming) as I didn't find that fun at all.

Every time I watch one of his videos its nothing like the other EU4 creator videos. He thinks out of the box, his strategies are nothing like others and the information is so detailed. Bravo to you for exploring the extent of some of the most unknown and perhaps, underrated mechanics of the game. For that alone, your channel is worth following for any EU4 enjoyers.
    But you must admit that it is very convoluted. I may use religious zealots to convert another country to my religion. But nearly 50 years of active work to establish a PU over any nation is not worth it, except for the meme.

    • @thestudentYT
      @thestudentYT  4 หลายเดือนก่อน +11

      It is... Conquering such a nation takes 9 100% Wars! That's 135 Years for Truces only and then another 3-4 really tough long wars minimum instead of one for the PU... and then it's also like 10 times more AE than taking a Union and no Rebels and Seperatism and so on... those 40 years (not 50) that it took me here are so much more worth it then conquering (of course apart from the Byz Meme Start)

    • @Stephen64138
      @Stephen64138 4 หลายเดือนก่อน +3

      @@thestudentYT From the setup moment of the video to the PUing of kebab, it's 1550 to 1598, so 48 years. That's why I said 50. If you calculate it otherwise, whatever.
      Then, it's 48 years to enforce that PU. Then 50 years of waiting to annex it and perhaps 20 years of annexation. So basically 120+ years before you directly own the land.
      Then, you calculation for the time it would take to conquer them is fallacious. Because it don't take into consideration the reset truce 'mechanic' the province warscore cost you would have if taken diplo idea in your first 3. And finally the fact that by the time you utterly defeated them and taken key provinces, the ottomans quickly collapse and get's ganged on by PLC, Mamluks, Russia, etc... And they will often make them release tags and no longer guarantee them after some time.
      So if played correctly, the 9x 100% wars against turks can quickcly become a 3-4 100% wars + wars between small tags and neighboors between.

    • @Stephen64138

      @@thestudentYT I'm not saying it's bad nor that it's a very interesting and mastered way of playing the game. I learned a lot of small very nice tricks watching your videos. But as I have said, it's very convoluted and for the meme. The mechanic is nice and worth using in games. But reaching the kurdistan as Byz in 1600 will not make Diplo-Adm-Influence obsolete I think..

    This is quite nice. The Event seems like it could be the most annoying part of the strategy, alongside the downsides of moving capital if you have trade income, but its incredibly useful if nothing else just to get a big chunk of a region pretty easily. Telling when they're gunna actually convert seems like it could be a lil bit annoying, but that just means you have to stay in the war longer to be safe so it's not that bad.
    I can imagine this being pretty useful against Korea since they often build up enough dev that it takes quite a few wars to kill them, whilst also not being that many provinces to wait for the rebels to walk onto and convert.
    The potential in PUs aside just being able to convert massive amounts of land in enemy countries pretty reliably is cool all on its own. It's a very different kind of war than most EU4 Wars where it likely weakens them diplomatically or otherwise, makes them ideal land for you to conquer since it's your religion now, and sets you up (if christian) to just absorb them entirely.
    I wish more religions had the ability to PU, imagine showing up in Europe as e.g. Majapahit, taking 2 provinces off of mega-france then forcibly converting them to Hindu and then just sweeping in to take them for yourself.

    • @thestudentYT
      @thestudentYT  4 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      So then tell me, what in this video was luck?

    •  4 หลายเดือนก่อน +3

      @@thestudentYT It looks like it was birding a million times. RNG dependent stuff include:
      * getting infidel ruler in the first place
      * getting event in the right province
      * managing to return province fast enough before they get killed
      * rebels not getting killed during the war by basically anyone
      * then all the shenanigans to get the PU (well, that's technically more reform cycling exploit, so maybe it's not so much RNG)

    • @thestudentYT
      @thestudentYT  4 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      So...:
      1. Getting a Heretic Ruler is no RNG at all, just waiting for a new Ruler on the Throne (that has no Consort) and then just Royal Marriaging Catholic Nations until you get a Catholic Consort which typically takes like 3 tries maximum... Then just make your Ruler a General and keep having heirs below age 15 (just disinherit them once they turn 15) and then you get the Regency of the Catholic Consort which as I said in the video counts already!
      2. Getting the event in the right province is literally the exact opposite of RNG... the Rebels of this event can only spawn in a province that is part of your capital State but not your Capital... so if you move your capital to a Province in a state where you only own 1 other Province (like I did in the video) then it is literally mathematically guarenteed that the Rebels spawn in exactly that one Province, so 100% scripted (honestly this one is so hard scripted that I don`t even know why I am even explaining this)
      3. Every event can be hold 3 and 1/2 months anyway befoe it get`s autoclicked so you have more than enough time to guarentee to retzurn the Province on time (as I did in the video) so there is another 100% scripted tactic and then once they spawn they only need 30 days to siege the province until you can help them and if you choose a province that is a little further of from the Ottoman armies (as I did in the video) then you can alson guarentee that the Ottomans can`t get there in 30 days
      4. That the Rebels are not getting killed is again 100% predictable as you only need to place your army directly on their army and it is literally impossible for your enemies to fight the rebels alone... and if you don`t call your allies and set your subjects to "passive" then there is also no one else that could defeat the Rebels... and even if then there will be several more rebels stacks spawning while the war as the Rebels overtake the Ottomans Province unrest upon occupation and because you are still supporting them.
      5. I only used this "exploit" as you called it because I didn`t want to wait any longer than needed, BUT: You can easily just keep disinheriting your heirs until your ruler dies without an heir and then you have the same Osmanugulu dynasty without any Reform tactics... so not even an "exploit" needed here and definetly no RNG at all
      Conclusion: Every single point that you made was proven to be wrong... And even though it seems that you don`t trust me, I can tell you that I didn`t bird anything Gamechanging in this entire Campaign except when I forgot about something because I don`t have time to do the entire run again just because I missed to extend the regency once or something like that... I hope you understand that but anyways it doesn`t change anything about the fact that it is literally 100% scripted!
      So tell me again: What about this tactic is RNG heavy?
      And honestly I really don`t understand why you tried to somehow make this Run look like the most annoying and hard thing in eu4 ever... and that without even understanding what I did here (which can be seen in your "arguments" above), can`t you just either ask if you think something`s looking weird to you or just enjoy the content instead of trying to make my Run as bad as possible???

    Please use normal maps. This map is too distracting

    As a first-time viewer to whom an algorithm suggested this video - Your pace of conveying information is extremely slow. Everything is clear and useful, and I learned a lot, but I couldn't withstand the whole vid without jumping ahead a dozen times. Maybe that's your style, maybe that's how you talk, maybe English isn't your mother tongue and you want to be sure you are understood well, or maybe my whining is totally not important and your regular viewers won't agree with me. I have no clue. But perhaps it's something you can work to improve and bew a bit more engaging.
    Anyway, thanks for teaching me a new interaction 🍻

      Videos are always top tier in terms of content, and always watched at x1.5 speed 😀 (subbed anyway from the first one I've seen)

      And what about PU-ing a 900% Ming? Keepnin mind that the Byz-Ottoman Example was more like a Meme to show an example
