It bugs me that this one's just a recolor but it's a wide release when kits like the Sword Impulse are P-Bandai. I get it's cause they want to promote the new movie but it's frustrating for sure.

So instead of making a new kit or recoloring a really mediocre hg, they went for a recolor of a really good kit that would sell

I think it all boil down to 1 thing. Greed. They released this thing to promote movie, so they care less for the profit. As per regular lfrith, they know that many people will buy it, so they make it p bandai.
I mean, it didn't even include the new railgun rifle used in the final battle. I guess this Spec II release is just a reissue of the RG Force Impulse, but even considering its age it is too soon. I feel like Bandai currently has no real direction for the releases of model kits, unlike in the past like the huge push of UC kits during the release of the Unicorn OVAs, the Build Fighters era with the push of the All Gundam Project b bringing in AU MS into the HGUC line to coincide with the HG Build Fighters line, or the huge push back during IBO for more modular HG kits with more option parts. Bandai were playing it too safe with Witch from Mercury, as it only had one season plus the usual 3 year product cycle. Now they have only the SEED movie to push their product cycle, with no other current projects with that Zeon animation or part 2 of the Hathaway movies still in development.
I wish that they at least included the handheld railgun in this kit, like it does in the Metal Robot Spirits release, in order to make it more enticing to buy this kit.
without spoiling SEED Freedom in the movie the Force Impulse Spec II did use a new weapon which is a type of rail-gun so why they did they not include it with the kit is strange unless it is a P-Bandai add-on.
Gotta respect the man for giving us a 21min vid on what's ultimately just a recolor. Dude knows how to make anything entertaining and interesting to watch. Personally I think the only variant of worth from this RG kit was the Destiny Impulse and I wish that was in the movie and not P-Bandai, but I'd LOVE to have a Destiny RG 2.0 inspired by the movie!

Just a note, but you can also attach the tip of the beam sabre to the rifle's barrel to give the impression of shooting. Some real grades are really savvy about unused beam effects

The very first gunpla model kit to be declared Platinum Tier. Btw the sticker-style decals was already given as down-side on every RG kits. 😅 Tbh this is one of the kits I would highly recommend for RG starters. Some RG kits was to small or complicated to be their first RG kit.

Here's why this kit exists: they wanted to have an RG kit with the new film, and this is the only mobile suit that returns unchanged from earlier SEED materials that has an RG kit. It doesn't hurt that it may also be the best SEED RG kit, with the earlier ones all suffering from ERS. In fact, because I loved SEED I bought the RG Freedom, and it was so hard to pose and the wings were such a hand grenade that it put me off of Gunpla for a while, and from Real Grades for even longer. It was only Mecha Gaikotsu ranting about the RG Nu that got me to try another one (and yea, so much better!). Its very possible that we may get more RG kits from Seed Freedom in the future, but I suspect those just plain take longer to make and they may be even be waiting to see how the film does. I may pick it up since I've heard tons of good things about the RG Impulse and I don't actually own an Impulse in any grade.

I actually really prefer the desaturated color scheme of this kit way more than the previous, and I only have the RG Sword Impulse at the moment, so this is great for me.
I think the holding hand without a peg is meant for the Sword and Destiny Impulse so that they can hold their combined anti-ship swords (two-handed, I mean)

Looks great, but the issue of the stickers is minor. If you want water slides they're sold separately. In my opinion, Bandai should include is regular stickers and water slides in the box
one reason I think they made this a RG compared to a HG or MG is to ensure a retail RG release this year. The RG line limits itself with what can be released in its line as first it has to be something that its design could exist in the Real World and second it looks like only main protagonists' and main antagonists' MS get retail releases.
I have a question about how to not leave a nip mark on metalic colored parts exsample silver, gold, chrome etc. theres always missing paint from either cutting from the runner or sanding it. Would love some advice. Thank you
RG Force Impulse is always the best but the next Seed kits we need is a MGEX Destiny Gundam to go with the MGEX Strike Freedom and hopefully a new MG Saviour Gundam
Im not entirely sure, but I believe one of the base adaptors from the action base that came with the mgex strike freedom would be long enough to work. I still have to build my RG force impulse, so there's also the possibility that it won't work update: it doesn't really fit sadly, but i found out that a lego bar piece, while a bit too wide, can fit in the bottom hole of the base adaptor. tl;dr: i made an action base out of lego

The oddest thing about this kit is that it supposedly uses different weapons in the film, and the Robot Damashii has different accessories to reflect that. However, this kit doesn't. What's with that?
The impulse has been one of my favorites for years…. I’m glad I got the sword version instead of the spec I becuase I like the muted colors here better for the force impulse… speaking of this Gundam. I recently rewatched Destiny getting ready for the movie and I really enjoyed it…. More than my last attempt at going through IBO which I want to like but can’t seem to finish because it doesn’t vibe with me . I might be the only one outside Asia that likes seed and Destiny lol

BANDAI should have at least made the beam rifle different from the original Impulse as seen in the movie and in the Metal Robot Spirits. Not that much of a bearing but every detail matters to me and at least to add some more to distinguish itself from the original Impulse other than the color scheme.

Oh thank goodness they got rid of the fugly baby blue color. As someone who absolutely hates the Impulse Gundam, the RG kits are in my opinion the best Real Grades of them all, in a technical sense. The tolerances are perfect, the build experience is superb and the split mechanic is perfectly sound (Full Burnern, looking at you). If you were reading this and thinking "Hi-Nu" you should be ashamed, cheap metal injection plastic and ugly clam shell wing binders knock it down several positions. Fight me. Name any RG and I'll point out why it's worse.

Action Base 7 is what you need, there are several types of adapters selectable including the square-ish ones fit on that base adapter.
To answer everyone’s question, the spec II is the exact same as the original Impulse, but one key thing was changed: the battery life.
And pilot is female.
Assuming the pilot is Lunamaria Hawke, the pilot was also female in the original so that hasn’t changed.

I knew seed and destiny had reused stock footage but i didn't know the reuse problem leaked into the models

Funny enough I painted my RG Impulse in a similar albeit darker navy blue+grey colour scheme when I got mine last year.
The strangest part is that in GSF, the Impulse had a new railgun that, for some odd reason, wasn't included in the Spec II release.

Not that much of a bearing but every detail matters to me and at least to add some more to distinguish itself from the original Impulse other than the color scheme.
I wish they just went all out with the recolor of the Spec 2 suits. Or maybe they could release recolors later. Later, as in after most people already have their Spec 2 kits! 😂

My Force Impulse spec 2 hand join quite loose. Is it always like that or just mine. I asking because My friend Force Impulse spec 2 also have a same problem. Anyone who have it please explain is it always like that.
They didn't even add the new beam rifle
coming with the wrong rifle is kind of annoying but just straight-up having an incorrect pilot figure is a greater offense imo

As someone who absolutely hates the Impulse Gundam, the RG kits are in my opinion the best Real Grades of them all, in a technical sense. The tolerances are perfect, the build experience is superb and the split mechanic is perfectly sound (Full Burnern, looking at you). If you were reading this and thinking "Hi-Nu" you should be ashamed, cheap metal injection plastic and ugly clam shell wing binders knock it down several positions.
Fight me. Name any RG and I'll point out why it's worse.
