JamesTown was a slave Port hence the light house.
The name was named after King James of the King James Bible.
It's one of the oldest part of Accra.
Your guide should have taken you to James Fort were some of our ancestors were held as slaves.
    There's rich history in JamesTown.
There were some returned Brazilian slaves who settled there & through inter- marriages mixed with the locals.

My focus in traveling is food, music, people, and architecture. I’ve been to nice villages in France, Italy, Greece, Spain, Austria that have shops, restaurants, and hotels, but are very walkable because the topography of the area wasn’t changed to accommodate car culture - the streets aren’t all paved and wide, there’s not much traffic, there aren’t skyscrapers…I’m from NYC, if I want all that I’ll stay home.

He drove you past the the Central Post Office, the beautiful and magnificent and historic Wesley Methodist Church of Ghana, past the turn to the famous Timber Market, past WATO which is the former famous club, past the former Palladium Cinema, past the turn to Opera Square, the old Bank of Ghana, past so many places including the turn going to Korle Bu teaching hospital and where the Ghana Medical school is situated and yet said nothing about them. He missed so much to show about the center of Accra where the GA people of Ghana come from. Their main hub with the palaces of so many divisional chiefs of the Ghana people. I left Ghana as a teenager and I was saddened watching this video. There have been no improvement whatsoever. I feel so ashamed to see how the people don't know any different compared to other countries. If this is Accra then my God help me ooo. What a dusty backward country. Dusty narrow streets in the heart of the capital. Making big deals out of nothing. When I left Ghana, the airport residential area was kind of and still no improvement. How can anyone call that place OSU oxford street proving the people and their leaders cannot think correctly. White supremacist leader running Ghana

Standards and developments are very low. In Accra you see some developments but beyond that it's deplorable. Very low standards which applies to the one making the video.
