Hi Darren! I'm impressed by the innovate reflector design on the P2. Thanks for introducing it to us and for the nice review! I liked the beam profile. Hope you're having a nice day and I appreciate your dedication and hard work getting these videos out to us!
Hey Gus, it looks odd but works quite effectively :D would like to see this on larger lights too. Been a long day mate, I'm also running a painting show this weekend. Hope you've been well!
I just bought one of these for my edc for 18$ on amazon and I was completely stunned on how good this little light was..super bright with a nice beam and flood and the quality is good..I wish the clip was more of a deep pocket but it works
Great to hear mate, it's an impressive light especially if you haven't used a throwier light before! And yes the clip is a weakness but at this price point, still decent.
Just tonight,,, coincidentally, I got to try out 2 OP reflectors purchased to do reflector swap in my Convoy S21 and C8+(Both SFT40 ). Both had very sharp rings and rather weak spill. The OP widened the hot spot , decreased the throw , but made the spill WAY more useful. This hybrid approach looks to be a very common sense compromise which I would expect to see proliferate throughout the flashlight manufacturers
@@DarrenYeoYT You are undoubtedly right on build quality. But here are some considerations on performance: 1) The Nitecore has a slightly lower CRI, slightly higher CCT and greener tint. 2) Nitecore has a much higher low mode at 50 lumens vs Pioocan moonlight mode. 3) Nitecore has far fewer lumens on high (800 vs 1200). 4) Nitecore is more throwy (250M vs 180M), but does not have strobe like Pioocan. 5) Finally, I have been impressed with the heat regulation on the Pioocan on high. It stays as cool as my Weltool T1 Pro Tac, which is to say less than 100 degrees Farenheit at 2 minutes. I don't know about the Nitecore MT1A Pro's heat, but I do know other Nitecore lights tend to get really hot after awhile.
I started to love 14500/AA flashlights. I got Lumintop Tool AA 2.0 and 3.0, Convoy T2, Lumintop SilverFox, Acebeam Pokelit AA grey and TrustFire L2S (wich surprised me with its power, it was no name brand for me). Now im really looking forward to buy this one. Im a bit surprised i didnt find much videos about this light, because it looks awesome. So thank you for your review.
@@DarrenYeoYT So, i finally own this flashlight and i have to say im disappointed. Its good thrower, but build quality is so poor. When i picked it up for first time, i tought its plastic, but its just just some cheap aluminium (lens is probably cheap plastic). Its same size as Convoy T2, but T2 is notacibly heavier and you have different feeling, if you hold T2 then this light. I picked Acebeam Pokelit AA and Pioocan, took off clip and battery and its just 4 grams difference, but Pokelit is way smaller. I feel like if u drop Pioocan on the ground it have to broke. So as i said, good thrower, but i cant recommend it to others because of the build quality.
@@kardirasa its hard choice, i like both, but probably i would prefer lumintop tool aa. But now i have more 14500/AA lights (16 at this moment) and my most favorite is 100% Manker E05 II. I can recommend this one.
I just bought a 4 dollar plastic headlamp from a Chinese import store and it has that combo reflector, is a cheap led, but the beam is actually good, is a big plastic reflector like 40mm so very good throw,
It's a good idea hey, because it preserves at least some of that spill. Restributes light from the centre to the edges, but not sure how much and to what extent it would affect the candela.
@@rafaelbarbosa2597 depende tambien que tan barata, yo uso mucho sofirn wurkkos y convoy, Creo que es lo mejor por El precio, pero siempre Tengo por ahi una de esas de plastico para cuando laguien me pide una jajajja
@@DarrenYeoYT it makes the transition smooth, and I don't think it affects to much the candela, the OP is the part of the reflector that produces the corona
I didn't take any measurements with a normal AA sorry. But it'd be at minimum half as bright as the 14500. Good enough in my opinion for most purposes.
@@DarrenYeoYT I am looking for a light to be "left" in my cars glove box for an emergency, so I'd liked it to be AA compatible Do you have any suggestions?
Between this and the T3, assuming the same price, I'd take the T3 due to emitter options, option of copper/titanium. But this light is targeted to a general consumer. Everything is included. Even the battery has a charging port.
i love my t3 ti, good range and very good spill aswell. just got an s6 6500k with sft40 and i gotta say id much rather carry my t3. little more spill and beam is more concentrated but maybe i just have to use the s6 more.@@DarrenYeoYT
The specs are available on that Amazon link, though it only states 1200 lumens. I don't have a proper lumen tube unfortunately but working on it. The L2 accepts AA as well but it's definately not as bright.
Yeah I think FourSevens is made my Prometheus now? The box I got my quark looked similar. Seems like a great light for the money there. I can’t buy everything but I really enjoy watching your videos to see what they’re capable of! I got a shorty Convoy S6 with a SFT40 and man what a light for the money.
@@DarrenYeoYT Yes. Hey P9 or P8, it looks like a useful flashlight. These are the type that make great gifts. Maybe different LEDs for different countries?
Hey Dave, thank you! Hmm well budget wise, LEDs aren't a great choice though Mateminco (FW2), Lumintop and this other one I've seen around "Natfire" seems to be more competitive in price. Maxtoch, Weltool, Nextorch (I own the T20L, T10L), ACEBEAM are pricier but have extra features.
Hello friend. I've already had flashlights that use a reflector that has smooth & orange peel combined and they're using a larger reflector, larger than an L21B but I don't think they're game-changers. For me, the game-changer reflector design goes to the mateminco FT03. BEST reflector design if you want flood and throw combination in a very compact factor.
Hey buddy, ah yes I have the FT01 from awhile back and it seems to have similar design to the FT03. Very nice looking beam with both throw/flood, though I find it a bit awkward to carry around due to head diameter.

@@DarrenYeoYT So i've had my L2 now for quite a while and i love it. Just looked and pioocan released another flashlight called the s10pro would you mind doing a review for it?
Darren - an excellent review, but a small criticism from me. You make a 14 minute reveiw and no lumen figures are shown or even mentioned. It would have taken less than 30 seconds to mention them. Now I have to go and research them myself😮.
Hi Simon, I am in the process of building a lumen tube, have been delaying it longer than I should. So at the moment have no way of measuring output other than those ceiling bounce tests. Hope to include proper lumen measurements soon.
It would be really nice if companies would offer neutral and warm emitters but all they care about is how many lumens they can write on the box. I can't stand 6500k totally unnatural looking and obnoxious in my opinion.

Yeah it's a great idea and makes the transition from spot to flood more seamless. Maybe without reducing throw as much.
I purchased the orange a few weeks ago , I’m very pleased with it , I got it $19 bucks , nice light 👍
Yeah it's surprisingly powerful in terms of throw. That Osram LED is also very efficient so not much heat compared to some of my other lights.
Love love love this light! I’m constantly getting lights in similar size to compare and nothing so far has came close to this output. Wow!
Great little light. They need to improve the clip though.
@@DarrenYeoYT I agree. Until you mentioned it I forgot how often that thing lets go of my pocket 😩
