Even without speaking Tagalog, the way you move your hands while trying to convey yourself is so Filipino :D. To me, you're a FIlipina who just happened to be born from Korean parents haha.
Honestly, don't worry you're not alone. I pretty much had the same background. Fully-blooded Korean who grew up in the Philippines. I just had to "re-culture" myself back to Korea for a few years, but then you realize that you're a foreigner wherever you go and that's not necessarily a bad thing :) It's nice to find someone who's similar. I wish I spoke more Tagalog like you tho haha P.S. you've got a subscriber 👍
Lodi Juwonee you can fluently and eloquently speak in English and Tagalog you have the potential become a newscaster in Korea or even in the Philippines.
Juwonee, I kind of feel that you are like a much younger version of me. I, too, am a Korean but I was born and raised in Canada. On top of that I lived in the US for 20 years. I’m over 50 years old now. I have only visited Korea once in my life when I was 20 years old. But I did visit the Philippines about 6 years ago. My wife is a Filipina who lived in Calamba. I used to be self conscious about my very poor Korean language skills. It was due to the fact that in 1970’s there were hardly any Koreans in Canada at that time. I also went boarding school similar to Hogwarts in Harry Potter. I was the first Korean ever to attend my school. Now, the school has many Koreans. But the school boarding experience caused me to spend time away from my parents where I would have learned Korean much better. My one piece of advice is that you have to feel comfortable about who you are and your upbringing. I think the different circumstance that your time in the Phil’s brings so much richness in your life and it can bring richness in other Koreans living Korea. Just be comfortable with yourself but if you want to improve your Korean don’t be afraid to reveal yourself to Korean society and I think for the most part people will be helpful to you. Good luck in your journey and I look forward to seeing how much you grow as a human being during this time.
You're the most entertaining Filipino-Korean youtuber! I've been a fan of the other popular K-youtubers in PH (Jessica , Dasori, Ryan, Silvia, etc), but none of them can speak as good as you in Tagalog and in Filipino English, and an awesome sense of humor to boot. You are a Filipino-Korean, while the rest is Korean-Filipino, you know what I mean? Keep vlogging...about anything!!
I was smiling and laughing the whole time I was watching you. You're so cute and funny... and so Pinoy when you speak and express yourself. I hope you gain more confidence speaking in Korean because you sounded great.
You're adorable. I find your "matter of factly" way of sharing and conversing very truthful. No BS ba. Just being your real self. Stay true and keep being awesome!
You're so fluent in speaking tagalog or english. Even your accent, when i listen to the words you uttered, if I close my eyes, you're truly a filipino.
You'll be okay with your Korean. I'm sure there's a lot of other Koreans who have also lived abroad and are like you in their proficiency in the Korean language so it should be okay. You're gonna be okay!!! You speaking in English and Tagalog are definitely a great advantage for you not only in Korea but elsewhere. Don't lose that skill.
At saka very candid, truthful and down-to-earth ka talaga. Keep it up. Cge ingat lagi. Syanga pala if you're really in Korean right now why not contact some Koreans who were also like you who are Pinoy at hearts like Sylvia Kim (same channel name) o kaya si Joshua Cho na kapatid ni Hana Cho, matatas managalog siya.
You have adapted most of the Filipino way of expressing themselves with the flip of your fingers and hands and the expressions 😊👏.. it's a bliss watching you talk about your reality and your honesty about the things around you and what you are going through..you're a tough lady Ms Juwonee, you have survived here in the Philippines so there's no way you can't adapt to the new life you have now 😊
I can totally understand where you're coming from. In my case I was born and raised in the philippines but since im part chinese I had to learn basic Hokkien, Mandarin and Canto on top of learning English and Tagalog. It was very confusing for me as a kid! Then when i turned 15 my entire family immigrated to canada which then added another language for me to learn (french) just to make my life harder lol To sum it up, learning different languages is completely different from speaking it daily. Similar to what you mentioned, na its hard to keep up with the trends. I can speak, understand and communicate a little in these languages pero not fluently kasi when you add variables like, tone, speed of delivery, accent, dialects it raises the level of difficulty to a whole new level! and to add to the difficulty, every language follows its own sentence structure! ie: English: Sentence = subject + predicate Japanese: Sentence = Subject + Object + verb French, Cantonese, mandarin: Sentence = Subject + verb + object Kung i-rrank ko yung fluency ko it would be: 1. English - highest 2. Tagalog 3. French 4. Canto 5. Mandarin 6. Hokkien
di ka nman nag iisa juwon,.were here,.and you are talking to a 44k people,.and im one of it,.ang dami mo na kayang subscribers,.at marami kami nakikinig sayo,.sarap kaya pakinggan ng boses mo,.buong-buo,.parang boyish ang tone,.pero ang cute ng nagdala,.😊..but anyways,.we know na makaka move-on ka din to fit in your own country,.it will take time, slowly but surely,.😊..your soul is a korean,.but your heart is a filipina!😁(nailed it!)😊😊😊stay safe always juwon!
I've been watching your videos and I find it very amazing that, for a foreigner, you speak Filipino well. I mean, every nuance of the language. Di halata na hindi ka pala native Filipino with the way you speak both Filipino and English. I dare say you don't even deserve to be called a "foreigner" for being quite Filipino in the psyche and for having the very Filipino trait of smooth multilingual code-switching (between Filipino, English, Korean and back again). Actually, I'm learning a bit of the Korean language since my senior high school times when I started getting hooked to K-drama and a "decent" dose of K-pop (as a music-intensive type of listener, not the "fan"/"stan" type). But my interest in the Korean language went beyond just for the sake of being able to comprehend the dramas or variety shows I watch or the songs I listen to. It became learning the language for the sake of the language. Like, I really just want to learn Korean up to the conversational level just like my Waray (my mother tongue), Filipino and English. It amazed me how relatively easy it is to read and understand Korean compared to other Asian languages since it is alphabet-based like my three main languages. My interest in Korean even extended to delving into its linguistic history, especially etymology and how to speak in Middle Korean which is the ancient form of Korean spoken in the peninsula during the Joseon dynasty (I can even recite from memory the preamble to the Hunminjeong-eum). But my learning is a bit slow since I have a lot on my plate as a college student (in meteorology). I'm not yet conversational, and I'm just casually building my grammar and vocabulary by watching and listening to more Korean-language content. Anyway, it's very heart-warming listening to your stories and sharing in this channel. I wish you all the best, Ms. Juwon! 💙 P.S. I dunno if you'll be able to read this comment since I posted this under a months old video, but I would like to ask: what is your full name written in Hanja? I just wanna try "converting" it from modern Korean to Middle Korean. 😂 P.S.S. It sucks how I wrote all about myself in a long ass (2nd) paragraph when the comment was supposed to be about you. 😅
I admire how you being so natural,,and truthfully speaking I was amazed how you like the way Filipina mentality and mostly Batangueno accents..ilove it..Kudos to you and More Power anyoeng😍😍😍😘😘😘
New subscriber here Juwonee. Got hooked on ur vlog becoz ur just so natural when u talk to ur audience. Keep doin ur vlogs coz it also educates Pinoys like me about Korea. Its like introducing the many facets of Korea by someone we can easily relate to...coz ur really Pinoy at heart. Hope that as u stay more there in ur home country and get to adapt to life there...eh u would not loose the values and culture u learned from ur second home the Philippines. 🙂👍
Hi Juwonee❤ Natutuwa ako kc napakahusay mong magtagalog. Sending love and good vibes❤😊
Juwonee, my opinion, mas may advantage k nga cause you can speak in English...that's your edge s mga Koreans....I think ung situation mo now, hindi k dpt mag worry cause you're there now....everyday you speak to Koreans...Im sure, sooner or later magiging magaling k n din s language nyo, yes it might take time but you'll get there....fighting! 😊
Just continue to speak taglish wherever you are mas ok yun kasi yun ang popular sa Pinas and you are a part of our culture. we are waiting for you to come back here where you belong to the Philippines 😘
you are so lucky that you knew 3 languages....you will go places!!!! tama sila.... you are absolutely a Filipina with a Korean Blood running in your veins.... GOD BLESS! Huwag mo kakalimutan ang Pilipinas ha!
That's so awesome you know multiple languages. As for me, my parents never spoke tagalog or let me understand it. The only things I've learned from it was bad words and it was directed towards me, most of the time. I know its never late but procrastination is setting on me
Annyeong 👋..since you're very good in Tagalog..and more of English..and about 3 years..sobrang galing mona din sa Korean language because you are a Korean ❤ and agree you're more of a Filipina..but we love you also as a Korean..and it's good that you have that both in your blood :-)
I spent 10 years in Cavite so when my family and I moved back to my mom's hometown in the Visayas, I struggled a lot with the language. Fast forward to several decades later and I can't express myself in Filipino with much confidence anymore 😅I tend to think, speak and write in English and Hiligaynon (mostly English since I teach the language). 😅
The way you speak. The way you move. The nuances, slangs, vocabulary, your intonations, and so on, no one would think you're a Korean expat. Everything is so Filipino, even your reactions. As for no longer being confident with your native language, that's normal. Even Filipinos who migrated abroad when they were very young are the same. When it comes to language, the less we use a language, the faster we forget it. And the best way to keep our knowledge of a language is to talk with someone in the same language; or read a lot. ^_^
Hi! Then yung smile, eyes, voice, lahat! basta lahat! Ang ganda mo po. Sana manotice mo po ako juwonee!😊 Di ako usually nagsisimp, pero sayo po, parang may magic 😍🥰 keep on doing videos. Kahit puro ganyan lang. Napapasaya mo kami.
It's good until now you don't forget to speak Korean language. Even though you. Stay in the philippines for almost 20years. As a Filipino I'm proud you speak fluent Tagalog. Take care of yourself always. God bless you and your family.
Keep safe!
Juwonee, your tagalog is perfect. Use of words and diction 100% Filipino. Dont worry, I failed my Filipino subject back in college 😀. I grew up in the non-tagalog speaking region in the Visayas.
The fact that you speak 3 languages is amazing probably going back to korea is to know more about your culture as a korean also the language i hope youre enjoying your stay in korea i wish you all the best 😊🙏
You are too cute! I appreciate your honesty and vulnerability. You got this girl! Take it one day at a time. Before you know it you’ll be fluent and adjusted. Just one day at a time! Rooting you on from ‘Merica!! 😊
I've never really heard Sandara Park speak english as good as you, so take that as an advantage. I've been very curious of other Asian culture and language such as Korean and Japanese. It would be nice to experience that. My children are born in the US, I encourage them to learn other language because it would be a cultural benefit personally and professionally. Keep doing what you're doing. Hoping and wishing you all the best. Cheers.
Gurl, feel ko yung hesitation mo on speaking korean. Like may pacing ka, like you're processing it before letting it out. Curious though, in what language do you think? like Filipino or English? This is one way to understand and process different languages eh. :) But it isn't something to be shy about. Knowing 2-3 Languages is an excellent skill to have! it shows the level of analysis and skill a person has.
you are like me. I can speak filipino, bisaya. But since living in Australia most of my life (after 10years old). My dominant language is english. My exposure to filipino (language, especially bisaya) are limited. IT's so hard to bring it out. You know the saying, it's on the tip of my tongue? well, mine is it's on the tip of my brain (just before the tip of my tongue) hahaha. but once it gets going - at least with filipino. I"m OK. with bisaya. I think I've lost it - not as fluent.
You hit the nail on the head. I'm Filipino but grew up in Guam and so everyone spoke English. Sadly when my elders speak to me in Tagalog , I would answer in English and feel bad. I'm sure if I took a learning Tagalog class I'd get fluent but like you said you have to be confident and willing to make mistakes to learn.
Your mannerisms and the way you speak is very Filipino!! No worries about your Korean language, in time you will be fluent and confident to speak it! Hooray ! You are pretty too!
Juwone, no worries. kaya mo yan. darating din yund araw na fluent kana na durudiretso ng korean baka nga makalimutan mo na ang tagalog, kung baga english and korean language na lang ikaw nyan. dont mind the negative comments. it takes years or maybe one year nga durudiretso kana nyan sa korean language.
I so feel you. When I first attempted to learn Korean, spelling and sound shifting were my major challenges 😅😅😅 like how 막내 is pronounced as 'mangnae' and not 'maknae' or how 감독님 is pronounced so you can just imagine my confusion with the spelling ㅠ i also find the use of prepositions (?) difficult like when should i use 는 를 이 에 가 ㅋㅋㅋ but watching Kdramas helped my vocab a bit 🤭 also having korean keyboard now indeed helps a lot! 💪💕
Your Korean language sounds great, and it's just perfect, as I've been studying it for over 10 years. Haha. This channel was just a random recommendation for me. So much fun to watch. I just smiled and laughed the whole time. There is something special about Tagalog language. Subscribed.
And super aliw ako 😁😅 i watch all your vids from the start 😍🤩❤️ very natural/realistic more vids to come ☺️
so proud of you! you're so cute! that is normal dilemma of people like you who basically grew up from foreign country....dami ko kaibigan na na experience ang ganyan.... usually sa country na kakaunti ang nag-english like Japan.... kasi pagkakita nila sa iyo at mukha kang Japanese kakausapin ka ng Nihonggo... tapos pag ang Nihonggo mo is very poor medyo maiinis sila sa iyo....
I find your videos very entertaining because of your Pinoy mannerisms that naturally come out Also you are so real, no pretensions. Wishing you all the best in your life back in 🇰🇷
Hahhahhahha nice juwonie hahahah tawang-tawa talaga ako.... pero in fairness maganda pa rin naman ang korean mo eventhough you're pausing a lil bit. Overall ang cute cute mo kaya mag taglish tas english tas tagalog hahhahahah
Your problem is easy. Just immerse your self into learning process again. So just be patient. Do the usual trick, listening. You are a foreigner there in south korea so be like a interested tourist. Sooner or later you'll learn to appreciate things around you there because you yourself will automatically adopt to your environment. Stay humble. And try to converse more in hangeol (
Im a Filipino from SouthernPhilippines. Your #Tagalog #Filipino is way better than mine and im a Filipino native, i lived my entire life in the Philippines, my goodness! . Im speaking mostly dialects from #Southern_Philippines. Though, i speak Tagalog fluently enough to sustain a convo but sometimes i have to prior think about the word to speak, its like translating my dialect into Tagalog that it takes seconds.
Good for you juwonee... at least you can still understand and speak hangul. My cousins who somewhat grew up in the US cant even speak Filipino. They have to speak english everywhere even when they were here.
Even without speaking Tagalog, the way you move your hands while trying to convey yourself is so Filipino :D. To me, you're a FIlipina who just happened to be born from Korean parents haha.
Hala 😆 filipino things pala yon?

I can speak, understand and communicate a little in these languages pero not fluently kasi when you add variables like, tone, speed of delivery, accent, dialects it raises the level of difficulty to a whole new level!
and to add to the difficulty, every language follows its own sentence structure!
ie:
English: Sentence = subject + predicate
Japanese: Sentence = Subject + Object + verb
French, Cantonese, mandarin: Sentence = Subject + verb + object
Kung i-rrank ko yung fluency ko it would be:
1. English - highest
2. Tagalog
3. French
4. Canto
5. Mandarin
6. Hokkien
💯% korean
20% korean language

Your content is interesting (reverse culture shock) More power to your vlogs girl❤️
So sweet....the way u speak....so lovely.....
Cheers.
btw, I just subscribed to your yt channel and followed you on IG.
Ang cute mo! I always look forward to your vlogs. Sige lang, kwento ka lang. We're always here to listen.
I really like listening to your topics and continously talking/discussing about it. I feel like talking to you directly .
Your korean is high level, just needs to be confident..you are funny and your jokes are spontaneously funny..
Cuteness overload..stay sweet and natural. Maganda ka naturally.
Keel it up!
Love watching you vids. Keep up the good work.
Natawa ko when you said “anak ng tokwa” Pinoy na Pinoy the way you talk even in English. your body language is exactly like a youthful teenage Pinay…❤
You are so cute Ate Juwonee! Ok naman yung Korean mo ah.
wahhh so cute >w< it's my first time here but I love the friendly vibes so much, I feel like it's the Filipino special hahaha
you are like me.
Yey Juwoneee content leezzgo ❤️❤️
Love the way you speak in tagalog plus the gesture so cute....👍
I like this young lady. SO NATURAL❤
so cute with the explanation and hand gestures.😁😁❣️❣️❣️
Your So cute and very kind person..love your vlogs and being real person..more vlogs and your doing the best..
You look beautiful. 😊
I'd love to watch more of your vlog about your life in S. Korea. 😊
You’re so fun to watch Juwonee 😁😁😍
I like the way you express what you feel. Makes me feel happy. Stay safe
Juwonee, ok lang po yan things will work out by itself pero you have to endure and learn the language as time goes by magiging sisiw nalang yan
Endless love may subtitle noon sa vcd bumili ate dami cd
Your Korean language sounds great, and it's just perfect, as I've been studying it for over 10 years. Haha. This channel was just a random recommendation for me. So much fun to watch. I just smiled and laughed the whole time. There is something special about Tagalog language. Subscribed.
This was so entertaining and funny; I kept laughing throughout. You should try being a standup comedian -- who knows, you might be successful!

so proud of you! you're so cute! that is normal dilemma of people like you who basically grew up from foreign country....dami ko kaibigan na na experience ang ganyan.... usually sa country na kakaunti ang nag-english like Japan.... kasi pagkakita nila sa iyo at mukha kang Japanese kakausapin ka ng Nihonggo... tapos pag ang Nihonggo mo is very poor medyo maiinis sila sa iyo....
I find your videos very entertaining because of your Pinoy mannerisms that naturally come out
Also you are so real, no pretensions.
Wishing you all the best in your life back in 🇰🇷
this is so genuine, not like the other foreigners na parang Filipino-baiting lang talaga to gain views.
salute po ate 💜
Hahhahhahha nice juwonie hahahah tawang-tawa talaga ako.... pero in fairness maganda pa rin naman ang korean mo eventhough you're pausing a lil bit. Overall ang cute cute mo kaya mag taglish tas english tas tagalog hahhahahah
LoL ang kulit mo Juwonee😅
you are so adorable - ❤
Anyeong. Naaadik ako sa smile mo. It completes my day. :D
Though, i speak Tagalog fluently enough to sustain a convo but sometimes i have to prior think about the word to speak, its like translating my dialect into Tagalog that it takes seconds.
love watching you, the way you talk, the way you move…all Cute!
Good for you juwonee... at least you can still understand and speak hangul. My cousins who somewhat grew up in the US cant even speak Filipino. They have to speak english everywhere even when they were here.
