I agree 99% with this list, except for me I would rather watch BOBF, than the Acolyte. The weird morality and writing is just so bad in the Acolyte, that's its by far the worst
Yeah, also Kenobi was as much bad as BOBF for me. I think that episode 2 was pretty good for Boba's plot.. Kenobi was completely terrible; his fight against Anakin was the only good thing, but it was interrupted by Reeva's scenes 🤢🤮
My favorite so far is Mando season 2. Because I’m all in for tons of action: chase scene, shoot-out, hand to hand fight, and Grogu chocking people like a badass. More father and son interactions with an emotional moment at the season finale.
Thank you Ray Stevenson for giving us the wonderful character portrail of Baylan Skoll. He is my new favorite character in Star Wars. I only wish you could’ve seen the love you received for it..

@@ggamesgarner8027 No, because we can't predict or guarantee the future. Just because they set up another season at the end, doesn't mean they 100% WILL make a second season. Most films and TV shows set up the possibility of more stories to tell, but that doesn't guarantee they'll get to make more stories.
@alexp601 as much as I love andor it was the most unpopular star wars show by FAR when it releases and it still got a second season.
If disney was willing to make a show based around andor a character no one really cared about then I have no doubt acolyte with get a season 2.

Disney needs to follow Andor's example of episode length & amount of episodes. Andor is the one D+ show that actually feels like a TV show to me personally.
Hopefully with Marvel making corrections LucasFilm can follow.

So pumped for Andor season 2. Never would have thought that Rogue One and Andor would easily be my favorite SW stories since the original trilogy but here we are. Amazingly high quality story telling and acting. Tony Gilroy is ridiculously talented.

I really love Boba with Sand People into Train Sequence, seeing their entire culture and when he arrives to his friends and they are dead its so sad, the entire sequence of Boba blowing up the Sarlacc Pit is dope, then Luke Training Grogu is beautiful man, its such a freakin RIDE, give it a chance)

The only thing I disagree with you on, Sean, is having the Acolyte being ranked over Book of Boba Fett. Book of Boba Fett may have been a disappointment but it did have better moments that had me on the edge of my seat compared to Acolyte but that’s just my two cents. I would rather watch that than Acolyte

Hey Sean, liked the ranking but was wondering why you don't include animated stuff. Recently Clone Wars and Bad Batch could have had interesting content. Could it be that you have not watched or maybe a viewership thing?
I didn't think Ashoka was good at all, in fact, I could barely get past three episodes of this trash, and keep in mind I endured all of the Book of Boba Fett, Kenobi, and Mandalorian season 3.
My favorite defense for Ashoka and things like the Purrgil, and The World Between Worlds is "Those things were in earlier stuff and we never took issue with it" The issue with this is that it's not true I always took issue with the Purrgil and the World Between Worlds and this series does anything but make it better.
But my ranking from worst to best is (keep in mind I haven't seen the Acolyte):

I agree 100% andor had a amazing real story and was my favourite new star wars content in a while. I want to say again sean I apologise for my comment on your captain america trailer. I think I used the wrong wording to get my point across on that 1. And yes I do love your channel I've been watching for 6 years.
Sean, I really must ask. Why constrain yourself to the live action shows? Why avoid all the other shows like a plague? It’s certainly not for quality reasons, BoBF and the Acolyte are proof enough of that?
The worst thing about grogu returning is that they could have told a jedi academy story with Luke and kept Grogu there. Would have made so much more sense than forcing him back, in another damn show.

#8. The Acolyte (Your description of flawed storytelling and morality, plus production choices, is spot on).
#7. The Book of Bobba Fett (I like a lot of the characters though I agree the storyline was a mess).
#6. Obi-Wan Kenobi (Some iconic moments and I like some of the controversial characters of little Leia and even Riva, but many storyline choices were questionable or mishandled).
#5. The Mandalorian Season 3 (ran out of steam and did not stick the landing).
#4. Ahsoka (The first half of the season was slow, clunky, and joyless, but improved greatly in the second half).
#3. The Mandalorian Season 1 (was a joyful breath of fresh air)
#2. The Mandalorian Season 2 (Lots of fun).
#1. Andor (It was a slow burn, but the suspense built with every episode and the writing and acting were some of the best of the entire Star Wars franchise).

Personally, I liked/respected Acolyte for trying something different. For all its flaws, it was nice to see a Star Wars period focused on something other than the Skywalker Saga - that's why the High Republic books are the best new thing Disney's done with the IP. Yes, even better than Andor, which is fantastic, but still limited to the OT timeline.

That is cool with me, I think The Acolyte action is so good at the end of the day and yes they did try to make something adult with corrupted Jedi and all that. With coherent writing it could be up there with Andor.

Yeah but that was the problem, it was set so late in the high Republic that I didn't explore the era as much as I kind of thought it should and focused more on set up stuff for the prequel trilogy

@@carncats07 For all its faults (and it has many), Kenobi still felt like Star Wars, with some good characters and had some really good moments. Andor didn't. It didn't really feel like Star Wars. It didn't have good characters (other than Stellan Skarsgård's character). And I never found the story to be engaging.
I am 90% sure that bobba fett and mando s3 were ruined by disney by them wanting grogu in mando s3, but that messed with whatever the original plan for thr season was so they had to come up with a new plan that they didnt have time to fully flesh out
Does anyone know what Reva's original motivation was when it was a movie?
I like to think it was just Ventress again...because Reva's story is really just, worse Ventress. And seeing HER in live action would have been sick.

Interesting question is weather children are actually human being. We don't know that and on few occasions is said that they may not be. For example just half consciousness and ability to powerwash memories like droids.
In SW universe, life can't be created by humans. Here those called children are manufactured by witch. They do evil murdering. Have volatile memory. Half conscious ( split between two) and so on. It is reasonable to question if they are children because they may be clones, droids, or some other non human beings.
It's about Acolyte obviously. Other shows are as you describe

havent watched most of these but the mandalorian episode in the book of boba fett (as well as cad bane) is good enough to put it above kenobi
For me BBOF and mando season 3 are worse than the acolyte. There was an expectation for those two. A hope so to speak. Acolyte looked bad from the beginning.
In my (unpopular) opinion, Ahsoka is by far the worst of these live-action shows. The Acolyte has some seriously messed up morality, essentially preaching the message: "it's good to be evil," but Ahsoka has equally screwed up messaging. Sabine's choice to gamble the lives of an entire GALAXY for one person is arguably worse, if not equal to the atrocities committed by characters like Osha and Qimir in the Acolyte. The only difference is that the people Sabine is potentially subjecting to death cannot be seen, and we see the characters in the Acolyte actively murdering people onscreen. What makes this even worse is that the show never calls Sabine out on this and instead justifies her actions when Ahsoka tells her that "had she chosen differently" she might not have seen Ezra again. At least the Acolyte doesn't actively assassinate the values of pre-established characters - Sabine and Ahsoka's morality has been completely destroyed at this point, the Ahsoka of Clone Wars and Rebels would never have told Sabine that Anakin was a great and noble hero, especially after he TRIED TO MURDER HER! It's funny to think that the Acolyte paints Sol as a villain for acting in self-defense to protect the lives of the vulnerable, while Ahsoka tries to frame Anakin as some great mentor and leader when he was a psychopath who murdered children and committed genocide.
Here’s my list and a bit of reasoning:
1) Andor - everything you said pretty much, the writing is great, it’s a different feel to Star Wars, and is one of the best pieces of television Disney Plus has offered.
2) Mando S1 and S2 - I have both seasons tied here because together they are their own story. It’s perfect Star Wars, exactly what I want each show to be. Nothing else has to be said here, it’s just that good
3) Ahsoka - I loved Ahsoka, I love each character and the story that it takes us on for me is engaging and the result of the return of Thrawn makes me super excited for the future of Star Wars. As long as they stay in the area post return of the Jedi. I can understand the criticism of the show, understandable, but to me this is on par with the Mandalorian and if more shows was like this one, I’d be plenty happy!
4) Obi-Wan Kenobi - the first and last episode was the best ones, I loved the final fight with Vader and the final 5 minutes made me so happy, but the middle bulk of the show wasn’t good. I hated that they “killed” off the inquisitor I was most excited to see, Reva wasn’t interesting at all, the story was repetitive, and I was plainly just disappointed. I wish it could have been better really.
5) Mando S3 - I was really excited for this season because I thought we would get mando learning the ways of the dark saber, as Bo Katan finds him and tries to kill hon to get the saber back in her hands. I didn’t really want an empire aspect to the show, or group to return-see how the Mandalorian can be without the child. But all in all, it was just disappointing. Nothing I wanted happened, and what did happen was basic and boring. Not all bad, but basic
6) Book of Boba Fett - I didn’t like this show, similar to mando S3. My expectations just wasn’t what the show was about. I wanted a crime boss show, where boba leads the crime syndicate where maybe we could get a payoff to crimson dawn, but no. Boring flashbacks, lame villain, stupid color bike chases(can’t remember the name), and a cool car bane return so try a disappointing end. It’s not a good show, but there are good moments. Both Mandalorian episodes, bringing back car bane is a great idea, and I wanted to see more of Boba after return of the Jedi. But whatever the writers did just ruined all the hope.
7) The Acolyte - where do I even begin with this show. The writing is awful, none of the characters are remotely interesting except for Sol, the “mystery” wasn’t a mystery at all, everything was predictable or if not they very obviously teased it in the next damn scene, the character’s motivations are poorly written and stupid, again my expectations isn’t at all what the show was about(I thought of it as the birth of the sith hundreds of years ago), the trailers don’t at all give the feeling of the show, and I can go on and on. If anyone is still reading this, I believe this is the worst Star Wars-anything! Worse than boba fett, worse than the sequels, there is not point to this show made by people who don’t know or really care about Star Wars, it is a pathetic piece of entertainment that wasn’t entertaining(I forgot this show was on every week!). Do better lucasfilm!

You should review the 2d clone wars show! It's lightsaber duels are probably the best choreographed animated duels in star wars!

8: the acolyte: a show that has characters that feel like they change based on what the script requires it destroys canon at certain points in time and for the action being the only real positive there is a shockingly low amount it also felt that it had to many episodes while also not enough at the same time
7: the book of Boba Fett: a show that could be interesting but they clearly did not have anything except the base idea so they padded it out with mandolorian episodes and flashbacks it also can be really dull at times and wastes cad bane
6: mandolorian season 3: it has all the negatives about season 2 without many positives the entire season is mostly side quests and they complete what is teased to take the entire season in about 2 episodes
5: obi wan kenobi: a show that I think has more highs than people give it credit for but also some baffling character decisions and execution some plot holes and character ages don't make much sense at the end
4: Ashoka: a show with some great action a standout performance from ray Stevenson and I loved seeing rebels characters in live action but it does lose some steam in the finale
3: mandolorian season 2: a lot of epic moments great action some fun new characters and I loved seeing Luke back this also doesn't feel as much like side quests like season 3 does
2: mandolorian season 1: it's a space western with a great new main character in the mandolorian some fun new side characters some great action especially in the finale and grogu is a cute creature for star wars
1: Andor a more espionage thriller show with fantastic performances awesome characters and deep layered story telling not commonly seen in star wars this is one of my favorite shows ever

Acolyte and Obi-Wan are basically tied as I think they are equal in quality. Both have their moments of greatness, but do not live up to their expectations!
