    Oh Steve, it’s so nice have you back! Your videos are so relaxing and enjoyable to watch. And stop apologizing for the packaging glare, it’s barely even noticeable! We are just glad to have back again! If anyone gripes about the packaging being shiny needs to just reconsider their life’s choices!

    Lots of varied things. Good combinations. Pink grapefruit? Interesting.

    The German MRE has a lot of products that we also like to use here in northern Europe. We prefer tangy and sour flavors over overly sweet, so for example rye bread is a good product. It is also a healthier product, because of fibers, and keeps hunger away for longer than wheat bread, and that is also a good point if you're "on the field". So far, I have only seen rye bread in Estonian, Latvian and German MREs. 👍

    German army crackers are sweet too, interesting.
    The Norwegian oat biscuits you get in Arctic Field ration are quite sweet. And so are the commercial crackers in the store. I actually find them too sweet. I wish we had something similar to the Russian ration hardtack sold here. I like them because they are filling and neither too salty or sweet. Sometimes i buy Russian rations just because i miss that flavour. I suppose sweet crackers is just the norm in Northern countries.

    • @nuked99
      @nuked99  ปีที่แล้ว

      Yeah i completely agree. I pretty much eat crackers/biscuits with something else like cheese, meat, or jams and jelly so i always try to find crackers low in salt or sugar. I think the only one that i do not mind being sweet are graham crackers. Those are just awesome 😄 Thanks for watching!

    Looks good, awesome review like always. My children, who gladly eat fast food crap were watching and were appalled by the food. I had to explain to them that it's the taste and nutrition that matter, not the presentation. Going to buy some French rations to educate them. Thanks for all that you do and welcome back to the internet. I lost my job during the "plan-demic" and can emphasize with your situation. Probably moving into a 5th wheel soon to save money.

      I'm at home so i heat up the main meals in some boiling water for about 6 to 8 minutes. Not too long since it is already cooked, but if it's a can i don't want it in there too long so it builds up pressure. Thanks for watching!

    Since American school lunches are so terrible, maybe we could give some version of this MRE to the kids instead. Quality control would be standardized and there'd be no spoilage or overcooking. I guess if they didn't eat it all, they could take some home.

  • @jeromethiel4323

    The Germans never forgot the lessons of the battle of Stalingrad. Rations have to include meat protein and fat. That's why every German ration i have ever seen, has had several kinds of pate or meat spreads. Just to get the fat and protein into the ration.
    Fat may be the enemy if you rock a desk job. But if you are fighting in cold weather, you NEED that fat and protein to keep going.

  • @meinnase

    "this is either chicken beirut or lebanese chicken dunno which ones correct."
    you do know that beirut is the capital of lebanon right?😂 just two names for the same thing
    ham is just the name for a piece of meat from a specific animal part (the thicker part of the haunch) theres ham from any animal with thick legs, although colloquially english seems to only use the term to refer to pork.
    germany doesnt really have Pâté, all meat spreads are called sausages but since they have to be packed in metal tins for rations they look just like french Pâté, if youd buy it at a german store or butcher itd come in a sausage skin, instead of boiling or searing it though you just cut the skin open and spread it on bread. Pâté in german would be "Pastete" instead of using intestines to store it, its meat suspended in gelatin to make it last.
    I dont even know if the Pâté thing is french, or if its just what english somehow came to call meat spreads. Pâté on wiki looks to be the same thing as Pastete with the gelatin. Maybe its a modern french product? Pre refrigeration and airtight containers youd definitly couldnt have stored it like that for very long.
