Apologies for all the ads all! This video got demonetized due to about 10 seconds of the Oscar lick... so I edited it out and the video is still in the process of re-analyzing. I believe I'll be able to shut some of that off once it's done.
Outstanding Video as Always Noah. Whenever the Tempo and or the Harmonic Rhythm is Fast, Arpeggios are the best way to Imply the Chords. It's sometimes called Change Running. Coltrane did it quite often in his Giant Steps solo. What's great about that Ben Eunson lick is not only What he played, but also How he played it. In other words his Phrasing. That kind of Phrasing is sometimes called 50/50 Phrasing. Approximately 50% Picked, and 50% Legato. Made popular by Guitarists like John Abercrombie, Pat Metheny, John Scofield and Bill Frisell. Thanks.
Hey Michael, thanks for the insightful comment. You're really helping me fill in the gaps around my guitar technique knowledge. I like the concept of "Change Running" and actually haven't heard the term used before. Thanks for sharing- I'll be doing some research. Cheers.
This is brain breaking for sure and really well explained, Noah. It’s also great that you present contrasting styles, so that we can experience the varieties of melodic shapes, contrasting rhythms, use of blues, different tempo feels, 😊etc.
buenas tardes noe soy de honduras vivo en argentina eres un exelente pianista y explicas muy bien, son muy bueno los tutoriales que enseñas muy agradecido
@@NoahKellman i bought the app and it's pretty good for $20. I can fine tune the track so it matches A-440 i don't have to go into my kyb and adjust the tuning which is really handy. On the Stage 3 it's not hard but a P.I.A. remembering to change it back.
Hi Noah I Am studying something difficult for two weekse nog it is a Blues In F 7 with at bar 5 Bbmaj Db7 ! 6 Gbmaj7 A7 ! 7 Dmaj7 F7 ! 8Abm7 Db7 !9 Gm7 C7 ! 10 Dbm7 Gb7 and than Thomas. als T.A. bar 5 is F# m7 B7 the theme hasan got in triplets: 1 F-A-F# 2 B A C 3 B D# C 4 F D# F# 2ndbar F F this riff goes over bar 1, 3 , 5 7 so it is a bit a riff blues the theme hasan just a reguleren blues progression so the Coltrane Change and altered chorus just happen during the silo's than the most intrigueing was that Some one used a Cm7b5 F7 in the 1st bar and Fm7b5 Bb7 and in bar 3 like bar1 but over Cm7b5 the right uses penta b6 scale or paterns like DBb- Gb-F Db so a 6 tones curve patern where the 2nd D-Bb are andere octave lower
I downloaded transcribe app seems like couple of years ago. Way to difficulty to use for this old man. 77 now. Very frustrating!! It just sits on my iPhone never used now. I guess my point is that for old people this type of technology is out of reach for some of us. I even got “ how to “ tutorials and couldn’t figure out. Like amazing slow downer- I was never able to use it. I only use an iPhone. Not around young people that could walk me through these apps and that’s what I need. And who has time for that in this world today?
Hey Bruce, sorry to hear your'e struggling with it. Maybe if you reach out to the transcribe+ support they will be able to help you out with some more resources?
@@NoahKellman Thank you Noah, for your kind words. Like I said, I’ve got user tutorials. But it’s like Greek. And I only know English. This is probably hard to understand for the younger set? But it’s real. And I’ve always loved music and playing the piano. It’s pure joy. It’s got to stay fun for me. It’s all ok. I will do what I do to keep it a good experience. I enjoy a lot of your videos and pick up what I can. My journey has been great and will continue. Keep on swingin’

I'll have to try this app as I have a lot of frustrations with Logic Pro making things more complicated than need be.
Hey Jay, yeah hope you give it a shot. I've been really enjoying it so far.

Displaying the ideas as a transcribed line, in addition to the vertical analysis would be an improvement in my opinion. Thanks
I wonder how long it will take to get Transcribe+ for Android or PC anyone?
very insightful! thank u
Sure thing, Yim. Thanks for the comment
Noah I want to find the software you use for your visual keyboard. I am using OSX
Hey Richard, just added the link toward the bottom of the video description!
transcribe+ does not exist for android... Anyone knows if there is a good alternative that works for android?

Glad you liked it, Marc!
