👍 👍 BabyMetal began in 2010 there were Suzuka Nakamoto age 12 Moa Kikuchi and Yui Mizuno. Both Moa and Yui were 11 years old All three girls were friends and classmates who attended an idol school/group (Sakura Gakuin) founded in 2010 by Amuse Talent Agency for girls 10 to 15. Themed around school life (they attended regular school as well) the girls would learn and train at vocals, dancing, public speaking and etiquette, etc., graduate at age 15 and then move onto whatever entertainment path they chose or that suited their talents. Key Kobayashi was a music producer for Amuse and heard Suzuka sing at age 9 and was impressed with her strong vocals and stage presence. Kobayashi was a fan of heavy metal but believed that the genre had become stale and tired (especially in Japan) with metal bands getting old Kobayashi believed the genre needed to be reborn (BabyMetal means the birth of a new metal genre). Kobayashi felt that Suzuka had the ability to front a metal band and that her vocals and presence could withstand the metal guitars and drums. The fusion of Jpop and Metal began. He placed Moa and Yui as backup singers/dancers and a phenomenon was about to result. At first Amuse showed no interest and the girls had only financing from Kobayashi. They performed at strip malls and small venues using clothes borrowed from friends and family. No money for a real band they had friends dressed in homemade skeleton costumes pretending to play instruments to a backtrack. They became a sensation (these young ladies paid their dues). Amuse saw the potential and in 2012 hired the best session musicians Japan had to offer (The Kami Band) who tours with them today (now includes world class musicians from the USA for tours outside of Asia). If you choose to explore more of BabyMetal I suggest reacting to LIVE performance videos as this is where they shine. They have over 60 LIVE songs/performances and each one is different. They are fearless exploring many genres and have the respect of the legends of Metal such as Metallica, Slipknot, Rob Zombie, The Red Hot Chili Peppers, Judas Priest and more. Avoid Glastonbury LIVE performances as the sound production by the BBC (who was in charge of that festival did a terrible job - mics not turned on, incorrect volume levels, etc.) Suggest reacting to these HQ Pro Shot videos of LIVE performances for a start. Their new album in my opinion that released March 24 is amazing with so many different styles. Good luck and hope to see you again.

Welcome to the Foxhole! 🤘🦊🤘 Most of the truly important information has been or will be given in other comments, so I like to give the fun titles and nicknames given by The ONE (Babymetal’s Fan-base) as well as other (un)important information. BABYMETAL started as an experimental sub-unit of the larger JPop/JRock group Sakura Gakuin. Suzuka Nakamoto\Su-Metal (Vocals and Dance): Angel of Song, Queen Su, Queen of Kawaii, Metal Queen, and Metal Goddess. Before Sakura Gakuin, she performed in a stage production of "The Adventurers" and was a member of the JPop trio, Karen Girls. Fun Fact: Bullfrogs are her Kryptonite Yui Mizuno\Yuimetal (Scream and Dance) Former member since 2018: Angel of Dance, Princess Yui, Tomato Princess, Kawaii Princess and Devourer of Souls (or at least she stares into your soul). Has the cute chubby cheeks. Yui had a minor role as a child actor in a Japanese TV Drama before joining Sakura Gakuin. Fun Fact: Yui is tickled by Bullfrogs. ** WARNING ** Do NOT, ever, under any circumstances call her “small”, "smol", “short” or “tiny” (same rule applies to Moametal). Moa Kikuchi\Moametal (Scream and Dance): Angel of Love\Smile, Princess Moa, Kawaii Princess, Super Moa-chan, Maiden of Mischief, and Headmistress of Hedabon. Has the huge dimples. Fun Fact: Loves to troll Su-metal on-stage with little pranks as well as torment Su-metal with Bullfrogs. Momoko Okazaki\Momometal (Scream and Dance): Angel of Joy, Kawaii Princess, Princess Peach, Vampire Slayer, Kabuki Queen. Also a Sakura Gakuin graduate. Was a contestant on the Korean reality survival program "Girls Planet 999" (which thankfully for The ONE, she was eliminated from) and performed in a stage musical production of "Black Butler". Momoko was the only Avenger (see below) to perform in the “10 BABYMETAL Budokan” shows in 2021 and was officially named Momometal and made a permanent member in April 2023. She deserves the spot! Fun Fact: Momoko's father is a popular comedian in Japan known for making non-chalant quips that may or may not seem to be intended as jokes. Momoko worked very hard to make her way without using his name as a crutch. BLACK BABYMETAL: Yuimetal and Moametal performing as a duet while Su-metal takes a breather. Also known as “MoiMoi”. There are 4 BBM songs (GJ!, Onedari Daiskusen, 4 No Uta\Song 4, and Sis. Anger) which Moametal performed solo a few times after Yui's departure. Now that Momometal is a member, we are hoping for more BBM songs with MoMoa! But only the Fox God knows. AVENGERS: 3 Dancers who took turns performing the choreography in Yuimetal’s spot after her departure. They were not official members did not have microphones and were not even named. It was the fans who quickly figured out who they were and you will see them in live performances between 2018 and 2021. They were: Momoko Okazaki (see above). Riho Sayashi: Suzuka’s former rival at Actors School Hiroshima, often competing for the same roles. Former “Ultimate Ace” of the JPop Idol group Morning Musume. Now a solo artist. Kano Fujihara: Former Member of Sakura Gakuin, the school-aged Idol group that BABYMETAL was born out of. Like Suzuka and Moa before her, Kano was Student Council President her last year in Sakura Gakuin. She is now a member of the Idol group @onefive, which is comprised of 4 Sakura Gakuin graduates (Kano, Momo, Soyo and Gumi). Kano only performed with BABYMETAL in Japan as she could not travel, likely due to her commitments to Sakura Gakuin and the then developing @onefive. We are #notacult. Kitsune Da O! 🤘🦊🤘
my favorite pastime has become watching first time reaction's to BABYMETAL lol the look of confusion kills me every time they are definitely the most unique group in music today trust me they grow on you and live they are absolutely amazing
same, I been following BABYMETAL since 2012 and always cracks me up to see the faces of people that discover them for the first time, especially with the live videos.
@akatzukianlun4033 Exactly! And this KAMI band not even really plays "alive" in the Babymetal shows. you can notice the playback. Its funny to see "specialists" giving their blessing for somethhing so fake that even is mocking heavy metal.
Cheerleading + nursery rhymes + heavy metal, that was my first description too. Some videos later (that same day): "who puts that amount of money into heavy metal... today?". And 7 years later, I'm still watchitng reactions to their music.
welcome to the wonderful world of BABYMETAL, I can guarantee that they have a few songs that will bring an emotional response from both of you, with 70 songs and none of them are the same and every sub genre of metal mixed with worldly styles. Their fandom is called "The ONE" which I have been a loyal subject for 7 years and have seen them Live here in the USA 5 times and I can safely say the 5 best shows I have ever seen. They are a virtual thrill ride for the senses.
@@CoachCastTV this is sure to stun you, BabyMetal performed the Judas Priest classics Pain Killer and Breaking The Law with Rob Halford the lead singer of Judas Priest
This is my favorite part of people first discovering BabyMetal. The look of pure confusion and or shock. The Blend of Jpop and Metal one would think wouldnt ever work, but yet here it is and over a decade later still working. They are absolutely amazing. I hope you continue down the Foxhole and come to enjoy the range and talent of the girls and the band. #notacult #onlythefoxgodknows
Totally the best part is the broken brain syndrome that most first timers get watching BM. The second best part is the tears of joy and pride that come later. :)
Wow wow wow! Been having so much fun on this channel, but I never really thought you'd get to my favorite. I hoped, but here it is! Babymetal is such a powerful blend of togetherness, friendship, metal, cuteness, positivity, and joy. You don't need to know the language to get the feel, but the messages are actually all very pro equality, self empowerment, determination, and chocolate! This group is the real deal, #1 in my heart! So so glad you did this one! THANK YOU!
It's an interesting fusion of styles and we enjoyed it. Their visual production is fantastic. We will definitely do more of their stuff on the channel.
I'm Japanese. Thank for your reaction. They are already adults now. And the vocalist is always selected as one of the top rock singers in the world by famous music magazines in the United Kingdom. So I recommend their latest official MV, for example 'Mirror mirror', 'Metal kingdom' on You Tube.😀
All the best Rock and Metal is being made in Japan, usually by female or female-led bands full of artists with the highest standards of musicianship and vocals I've ever heard. Babymetal, Band-Maid (who I rate the best Rock band of all time and I'm 62 and saw the likes of Zeppelin, Zappa and Santana in the 70's, at their peaks), Lovebites (who are up there with the likes of Metallica, Dragonforce or Iron Maiden, who I've seen live too), Nemophila...the list is huge.
Congratulations on finding Babymetal ! Like you, everyone who discovers this magic group has their jaw dropped to the floor! But those who continue the adventure discover marvels and never leave the "foxhole" again ! Babymetal loves you 🤘🦊🤘
I have seen the same look on so many other reactor's faces over the years when they first see Baby Metal. I saw them in NYC this past September 15th in my first seeing them live. It was an amazing show and I'm glad that I got balcony seats because I wouldn't survived on the floor, as I'm 76 and not up to slam-dancing anymore, lol. I know it's a real culture shock. Baby Metal created a new sub-genre for metal called "Kawaii Metal". Kawaii in Japanese means "cute" and they blended J-Pop with metal and have been a huge success since their first video was released in 2011. It was a tough road at the beginning but they persevered and became a global sensation. This is their 12th year performing and are still going strong. They also dip into other genres, which shows their talent and versatility. They are backed up by the Kami Band, some of the best session musicians on the planet, from both Japan and the US. Suzuka Nakamoto a/k/a Su-Metal is a top vocalist with an amazing combination of power and range. I've been following them for about 6-7 years now since I got back into Japanese music after losing interest in the mid-1990's. There are so many great songs for you to sample, but Headbanger is the right way to start. Enjoy the ride and don't give up on them so soon. They grow on you. To get a real feel for Su's vocal talent, check out the video for Akatsuki, which is as close to a ballad as you will get with Baby Metal. The Budokan Black Night concert has about the best live version. Another great song is Amore, from the concert at Wembley Stadium in London. I know there's a lot to take in, but give it a shot.
@@CoachCastTV Another one you should check is Oh Majinaii !!, where they collaborated with Joakim Broden of Sabaton. And their choreography is always on point and has been since the beginning back in 2010. It's a real hoot. Their choreographer is Mikiko Mizuno, who is one of the top talents in Japan. There are a number of live performances from 2012 on Andy Rethmeier's channel that show them at 15 and 13 years old. Compare that to today's videos and you will be amazed. Another great song of theirs is Karate, about conquering one's own demons. See the official music video first and then check out the live video from the 2016 Download Festival in England, it's probably the best live performance of the song.
Ratatata got me in the Babymetal stuff and I really like their heavier songs and their vibes. This song, along with Ratatata is on an endless loop on my playlist. Masterpieces, both of them!
This song shows the value of the two support singers/dancers who engage the crowd and gube them cues when to chant and gesture. The main singer, Su-metal and the band are 10/10 by themselves, Moa, Yui, Momo and co dial it up to 11. They are incredible live, watch those rather than the official videos. Try Pa Pa Ya, BMC live, Megitsune or Catch Me If You Can. Evert song is different, and range from good to mind-blowing.
This compilation shows them in different outfits. The red tutus were from their younger years, and the silver and black they're several years older. Started as young tweens and now young ladies in their 20s.
Hah this is fun! I became a fan the beginnint of this year, and saw them in Houston and Dallas a few months ago, and it is the most surreal high energy show ive ever seen! I swear they create new synapses in your brain.. of course when i first heard a song and watched the video (you should always watch live, they are built to be a live experience) i was so confused, but now it sounds completely normal to me! They are older now, but still have the most insane energy and stage presence and crowd interaction ever. Hope you go deeper and check them out! Some personal observations.. The hard work they put in is awe inspiring. They make me laugh, smile, and feel like a kid again (im 46) No two songs sound alike. They blend a lot of cultural musical ideas with metal. The choreo is an extremely important part of it, they are acting out each song. The meanings of some songs are silly and straightforward, but they have a lot of powerful messaging, like Megitsune (about girl power) and my personal favorite, Ijime Dame Zettai, which translates to heartbreaking yet inspiring lyrics about bullying.
That would be a "Baby Bones" onesie in this case. When the group started, sometimes they couldn't afford to hire a band to play the music live. Actors in skeleton onsies were brought in to pretend to play the instruments. If you want to do another of my favorite band. I'd say Karate M/V (most of the time, you'll want to find a live version, but Karate has one of the select few truly great M/Vs)
Your in for a heck of a ride, BABYMETAL is like nothing else you have ever encountered. I suggest BABYMETAL - ROAD OF RESISTANCE, Live in Japan (and everything else they have ever done!) Kitsune dao!
Great first reaction and welcome to the BABYMETAL Foxhole.🦊I hope I don't repeat too much of what you have already been told - apologies if I do. You were spot on describing what they do as a fusion of styles - initially Metal with JPop aesthetics, but they have gone on to include, blend and mix so many other musical styles and genres with the metal since they started. BABYMETAL are like nothing you will have seen or heard before, they don't limit themselves to any one main style or genre and you won't be able to pigeonhole or put them in any one box like you can with virtually every other band in the world, they are one of a kind and they invented their own genre and style that nobody has been able to copy successfully (some have tried, none came close) including bringing choreographed dancing to metal (but not as you might know it from pop acts where it is nearly always used just to fill the stage or give you almost naked girls (and boy) to look at to take your mind off bland music). BABYMETAL's choreo helps with interpreting the song - a lyric or the meaning etc, but it is designed to involve and lead the crowd, to give them their cues when to jump, shout, pump their fists, chant and so on. BABYMETAL are complete masters of crowd control and crowd involvement. 'Headbanger' is about a girl going to her first concert on her 15th birthday, but it is more than that. 15 is a significant age in Japan, it marks the end of compulsory education, so the girl is also realising that this is a big turning point in her life, her first 15 years passed by so quickly and things will never be the same. She is etching this special night into her heart so she will never forget. BABYMETAL are Su-metal (lead vocalist) and Moametal and, since April 1st this year, Momometal (backing vocals, harmonies but mainly in charge of dance, leading the audience, getting everybody involved and joining in - audience participation is a huge part of what BABYMETAL are all about). The third original member, Yuimetal, sadly left the band in October 2018 having been absent from the stage for the previous 12 months. She had ongoing (and undisclosed) health issues. Su and Moa continued as a duo for the next 4 or 5 years, supported by 3 dancers (the Avengers) dancing in the third spot (it was the same one, Momoko, from about February 2020). They teased the reveal of a new third member in April this year - happily it was her, so she is all mic'd up and singing as well as dancing now. They are supported in live shows by the Kami Band - some of Japan's very best session musicians, each one of them a world class instrumentalist. They were phased in gradually from October 2012. BABYMETAL had started in 2010 with little or no budget so they sang to a backing track at the start and when they started doing their own small shows guys in skeleton suits (known as Babybones) would pretend to play the instruments. It was one of them you saw in the crowd in the video (they made a special appearance in the crowd at the concerts in January 2020) making sure everybody was headbanging as the girls were instructing them to. Kami means god or spirit, so they are the gods of guitar, bass and drums summoned from the dead to support BABYMETAL - as such they originally wore the traditional white burial robes and corpse face paint. At the end of 2017 the robes were changed for black robes and since 2019 the face paint was replaced with masks (nearly everybody wants the face paint back, or for them to just get rid of the masks). The Kami Band played at a couple of festivals and the encores in some shows and became the full time support for all live shows at the start of 2014 and have been with BABYMETAL ever since - but only for live shows, they do not record the studio versions. In 2019 the Kami Band of the West (American musicians) were introduced and they have been supporting BABYMETAL on their more extended foreign tours since then. BABYMETAL formed in 2010 when Su was 12, Yui and Moa were 11. Kobametal (their producer) was so impressed with the vocal talents and stage presence of a young girl (Suzuka Nakamoto) when he saw her with her previous group that he thought she would be wasted in pop and could do something with the music he liked (he is a lifelong metalhead). She inspired his idea for band fusing metal with Jpop aesthetics with her fronting it as lead vocalist. He got his chance to work with her when Su joined a newly formed group set up by the Amuse talent agency to coach and train about a dozen of the most talented 10 to 15 year old girls on their books in all aspects of entertainment (acting, singing, dancing, writing, stage management and so on) with a view to them finding what they might want to do to start or continue their careers in entertainment with Amuse when they reached 15 and would finish their compulsory education. He set up the heavy music club as a sub-unit of the group with Su as lead vocalist and her two young friends supporting her with backing vocals, harmonies and, something not often seen in metal, choreographed dancing. By 2013, when it was time for Su to leave the parent group since she was 15, BABYMETAL had found their own audience, so it was decided they should split from the group to be Su's vehicle as she furthered her career as a vocalist. In 2014 they started to tour outside of Asia and Japan for the first time coming to Europe and the US and since then they have won new fans all over the world and become internationally the most successful Japanese band ever and one of the very best live bands on the planet right now - their 3rd album released in 2019 was the first by any Asian group to reach number 1 in the US Billboard Hard Rock charts. It is BABYMETAL's success abroad that has opened the doors for so many more Japanese bands internationally. They have nearly 70 songs now, every one of them is different. They have songs in virtually every metal genre but will mix in other musical styles and genres with the metal, often when you least expect it. Some songs lean towards their pop roots others are just good hard metal and they do everything in between - so if you don't like one song no problem - try another, the chances are you'll love it.
Wow, another great, informative comment. The fans of this group are showing us that they are very welcoming and we really appreciate that! We look forward to doing more from them.
Thanks for this reaction, glad you enjoyed it, subbed for more. 🙂 Something to make clear, this was a compilation video of Babymetal performing the same song over the years (also clips make it easier to upload on TH-cam, copyright is... not always fun on TH-cam), if you look closely first thing you can notice is how their clothes change. Babymetal is very much a shock to the system so some people don't even notice at first. Babymetal is... unusual. It's definitely a fusion, something never done before. It was also a great big experiment, nobody would think on paper that this works. But it's pure talent, hard work and professionalism of everyone involved in Babymetal that it works. Especially the girls in the center of Babymetal. Yes, Babymetal's origin is part of some corporate entity, but because the idea wasn't from management sitting around a table coming up with this wacky idea and not having any direct involvement Babymetal came out very much as authentic metal (fusion). It really is: little girls (who now have grown up) and metal music, but done right, somehow... some say it's a miracle, because it was unlikely to happen.
Glad to have you aboard. We were definitely a bit overwhelmed and probably missed a lot, but it was a fun ride and we look forward to more. Agreed this fusion should not work but it did!
Good reaction, thanks and welcome to BABYMETAL. "Headbanger" or more properly "Headbangeeeeerrrrr!!!!!" or "ヘドバンギャー! !" (Hedobangyā!!) is about a girl who attends to her first metal concert on the night of her 15th birthday and that causes a great impact on her. That is the age of the end of the compulsory school in Japan so young people have to make some relevant decisions at that point. So this is actually about coming on age and leaving the childhood behind with a hint of nostalgia. Not a biographical theme because this is a pretty early song and Su-metal performed it for the first time when she was only 14. This video is a compilation from several shows (probably 10 or more) from 2013 to 2020. And it's not the ideal way to experience them since it's quite distracting with constant changes: stages, costumes and even members. I would stay away of this kind of mash-ups although I know it's easier to avoid copyright issues with this kind of compilations. Since you already have a ton of info, I'd like to remark that they are very diverse musically as they don't hesitate on mixing any music genre with any metal-subgenre. So you always need to expect the unexpected and prepare to be surprised. 😁 Until next time! 🤘🦊
The first impression I got when I first saw babymetal was what the hell is this, and the more you listen to and watch their live concerts the more you get into them even though you can’t understand a word they’re saying…Have to remember Su the singer was only 17 and the 2 dancers moa and yui were only 15 and performing in front of 20 thousand.
Welcome & Thanks from Japan 有難う💛。 BABYMETAL is the best musical phenomenon I have ever experienced in my 68-year-long life. (Before BM, I was a stubborn jazz / funk lover) We say "Japan is the country obsessed by Rock Music". The history is very long and the obsession started in 1966 when Beatles visited Japan and held 5 concerts at Budokan. Speaking of hard rock / heavy metal music, a number of bands started to come to Japan since as early as 1970s : Led Zeppelin / Grand Funk Railroad (1971), Deep Purple (1972), Queen (1975), Kiss (1977), Cheap Trick / Van Halen / Scorpions (1978), Judas Priest (1978/79) and so on. Now, any type of rock can be enjoyed here, especially by many all-female or women-fronted bands. They are daughters of American / European rock, for sure. (Many are grand-daughters in terms of age.) Uh-oh, we also say "Japan is the country obsessed by Jazz". It had started earlier than rock 😄
Actually, Coach, this track was a tribute to a legendary J-Rock Icon X-Japan. Yoshiki which is the bands leader and also their drumner. Was known for such intense drumming sessions that he sometimes collapsed on stage after a show. Over the years, his hard rocking took its toll. He had to undergo emergency surgery to repare severe damage to his back and neck. On a least 2 occasions & his doctor's had warmed him. If he didn't stop, he would be permanently disabled. Yoshiki didn't want to disappoint fans, so he ended up wearing a neck brace so he could continue performing. You will notice in the video Su-Metal wearing a neck brace that came down from the sky. That is what the reference here is for us. Yoshiki is also an accomplished concert pianist and has traveled the world performing at some of the worlds most prestigious concerts venues, including Carngie Hall and Rockefeller Center. He has written movie soundtracks and even composed the theme song to the Golden Globes one year. Babymetal frequently honors X-Japan in different ways, but figured a short backstory was needed here for reference. :b🤘🦊
The iconic performance of "Headbanger" is at the Legend of 1997 concert from 2013. Su, singer, celebrated her 16th birthday the day before the concert. Yui and Moa, Dance and Scream were 14 yo!!
Welcome to the Foxhole and BabyMetal journey.🦊🤘🔥 Cool you got this song as a first suggestion but trust me there's a lot of better version to enjoy this without the messiness of this live compilation, it's even more meaningful when this got a context with each one of the original clips. BabyMetal is a Japanese metal dance unit created in 2010 under another Jpop/Jrock group called Sakura Gakuin, they had 11 and 12 years old when started this and become independent after 2013, they created their own genre called kawaii-metal (kawaii means cute) mixing Jpop with metal sound and different subgenres along with many more rhythms. Their name is a reference to a new genre and not related to their ages or "baby" faces, is a pun intended play words with "heavy-metal" which sounds similar to "baby-metal". They are: *SuMetal* lead vocalist, now 25. *MoaMetal* scream and dance, now 24. *YuiMetal* scream and dance, former member since 2018. *MomoMetal* scream and dance, she's 20 and is the new official member since April 1st recently. None of them are related. After 2018 you'll see backup dancers performing along with them but none of them are official members, they don't sing, only dance, but that status change recently like i said. They were part of Sabaton's Europe Tour, and also the Asian and Australian Tour as well the Babyklok Tour in the US and everyone were having a blast with them coming back to the stage in this live tour, right now they're rocking out with the Europe and UK Tour until next month. Headbangeeeeerrrrr!!!!! is one of BM fans favorite and got special meaning too. Song is about a 15 years old girl celebrating her birthday going to her first live concert, probably metal, while having melancholy for leaving her childhood behind. Isn't about any of our girls but they embraced this song like it was made for them, you'll find many special versions of this, even when they celebrate their 20th Birthday. 15 is an important coming of age for Japanese girls, 20 is another important date. Some live concert and also this song got plenty of tributes to the greatest metal bands, like Metallica and X-Japan, specially Yoshiki, you'll find more and plenty of this to add to their lore. The official MV is also creepy for some fans, I guess the organ gave that effect, you'll also see the neckbrace there for the first time which is a tribute to Yoshiki from X-Japan. Another thing that you don't see so much in their live performance is, when YuiMetal and MoaMetal are having fun with cryo or smoke gun, the choreography on this part is with them down on their knees and doing the "dogeza hedoban" which is like bowing down back and forth summoning the metal spirit represented by the neckbrace while SuMetal is standing with the mic rise up and her relentless death stare, that's another moment we called -NotACult- The Kami Band here are insane set of elite musicians who were send to help with the metal sound, "kami" means roughly "god", they're wearing burial white robes and corpse face paint to represent those spiritual entities. They rotate so probably you won't see some of them in all live concerts (especially the guitarrists). They are: - Míkio Fujioka, god of guitar, a beloved member, sadly he passed away in 2018. (R.I.P.) - Leda Cygnus, god of guitar, he's the only Kami Band member who's credited as a session musician when recording some albums tracks. - BOH, god of bass, he's the bald one and not only got amazing talent but her fun way to enjoy reminds me Flea from RHCP. You can see at the end (when SuMetal is crawling upstairs) his head got written "Happy Birthday". - Hideki Aoyama,, god of drums, he comes from a family of expert drummers, and his father is very famous in Japan music scene. Right now they are touring with another complete different set of musicians, we called them Western Kami Band, they've been playing with them since 2019, so the Kami Band musicians aren't official members and the girls are the only front women of this group. Like i said they've been slaying the live shows with this classic hit and everyone love it, you can even see the difference in the grown up version with the new member and the girls headbanging real hard like they've never did before. If YT allow me, I'm gonna leave in my next comment where to get safe clips to react since sometimes is very hard to watch some of their vids. Next suggestion: - Road Of Resistance live in Japan official MV (2015) See you next time!🦊🤘🛐
Here's the list of live performance clips usually safe to reacts without any filters so you won't need to rely on live compilations, there might be some exceptions: - Headbangeeeeerrrrr!!!!! live at Legend 1997, SuMetal 16th Birthday in 2013, they got MV of this and is fun, but live is a blast. th-cam.com/video/LNFiDWJh2FA/w-d-xo.html - Akatsuki, live at Budokan 2014, this is a SuMetal solo. th-cam.com/video/g2372C5PJLM/w-d-xo.html - Megitsune, official MV is my first recommendation but is usually blocked if you don't put filters, so if you want live and safe to react, check it out Budokan 2014. th-cam.com/video/dU38CYkpBvI/w-d-xo.html - Akatsuki Unfinished Version, SuMetal solo again but with only a piano behind special performance at Legend 1997. th-cam.com/video/nwsinmxTxbo/w-d-xo.html - Babymetal Death, live at Legend 1997, this is the big finale, you're gonna blow your mind with this one. th-cam.com/video/jRc9dbgiBPI/w-d-xo.html - Catch Me If You Can with Kami Band intro live at Budokan 2014. th-cam.com/video/ng8U_j0gpLI/w-d-xo.html - Ijime, Dame, Zettai live at Sonisphere Festival 2014, sometimes the official live MV isn't so friendly so you know what to do. th-cam.com/video/Ro-_cbfdrYE/w-d-xo.html - Rondo Of Nightmare, with Mischiefs Of Metal Gods Intro live at Budokan 2014, another SuMetal solo but way different than usual happy songs. th-cam.com/video/8WBDiLMNZcE/w-d-xo.html - Doki Doki Morning, official MV, their very first song and MV full of kawaiiness, usually is safe to react so try it, if you want a live performance, this is the first proshot version with the Kami Band live at Legend 1999 (YuiMetal and MoaMetal 14th birthday). th-cam.com/video/BSjv9OYtWZ0/w-d-xo.html - Uki Uki Midnight, this one is a follow up to Doki Doki Morning but way different sound, this is the PV, is super fun but the sound isn't so great but at least is live. th-cam.com/video/Yj-UQIlqsIQ/w-d-xo.html If you want better sound with the Kami Band, then live at Budokan 2014 it is. th-cam.com/video/ESzY9dL613Q/w-d-xo.html - Onedari Daisakusen, live at Legend 1997, this is a Black Babymetal song, is a subgroup with only YuiMetal and MoaMetal. th-cam.com/video/1dT1ywYR5So/w-d-xo.html - Iine! again official MV hits way better but if you want live, here live at Budokan 2014. th-cam.com/video/5sCvYVNeD0w/w-d-xo.html - Karate live at Download Festival 2016, "kitsune6001" got this with a short interview intro. th-cam.com/video/FKOL6v3Md2c/w-d-xo.html - Road Of Resistance live in Japan official, this one is easily to find but be careful with the blocked by putting some filters just in case. - Kimi To Anime Ga Mitai - Answer For Animation With You, live at Budokan 2014, not sure if it's still safe, so try some filters, if is audio blocked try to mute or just cut the parts. th-cam.com/video/M8FKumvh-w8/w-d-xo.html Here's a song you can find at Babymetal Reactor Resource (BMRR), a helpful place to get watermarked logo clips of the original live version to curve the annoying algo. - GJ! live at Wembley Arena 2016, another Black Babymetal song. th-cam.com/video/Hg0Rylcg8F0/w-d-xo.html This is BMRR short vid to follow instructions and get the spreadsheet with the full list. th-cam.com/video/q40VmTHSh4c/w-d-xo.html And here's a BM guide (the long one). th-cam.com/video/gDne0xwniTg/w-d-xo.html There's a more recent beginners guide at "Briaghh" called "So... What is BabyMetal?" is more short and with some fair update until this year unlike the other one. th-cam.com/video/9X5vj1-Sg_4/w-d-xo.htmlsi=ebbxVxI_mEgt-6SG 🦊🤘
Wow, the info in these two posts is overwhelming and important and we'll probably have to read this multiple times. Hopefully, this will also help our viewers who are new to the group, as well. Many thanks for taking the time to compile all this information for us.
This song was their third or fourth single released in 2012. So this is an old song that has become a staple in their live set list. You should hear the new stuff! It's like... Wow🤯 on another level of progressive metal. I highly suggest reacting to Divine Attack or Monochrome from their latest album, The Other One. They also released a separate single track not on any album, called メタり(translates to METARI or METALI) with Tom Morello. It is a fusion of the words Metal and Matsuri (festival in Japanese) and is one of those audience participation type songs. I hope you can add these songs to your list. You won't be disappointed.
Great reaction and welcome to the foxhole 😁 I see you already got lots of info . So just say hope you do more BabyMetal best live band in the world in my opinion and many others. I thought I would mention that Cory Taylor is a big fan of theres 😁🤘🏼🦊🤘🏼
Good reaction :) - This group will always leave you with a smile on your face, they're incessantly surprising, and feature amazing songs choreography band lighting stages and of course the lead singers voice. Imo one of the best LIVE bands for over 10 yrs now - more please (preferably live) - you won't regret it!
if memory serves Slipknot loves Babymetal, or atleast Corey does, and the girls actually managed to interact with Korn, RHCP, Rob and a lot more Metal bands, maybe you guys could do PA PA YA live next
Welcome to the fox hole ! There's no way-out in this journey so you need to keep going further 🦊 Here is the complete list that I'd recommend you to react which I'll break down to 5 levels. IMO, when you get to learn more and more about their songs, their styles, and their great stage performance, that's when you ready for the final showdown L5 song. Try to keep these sequence - okay ? ^__^ Please focus on live version if possible as it'll provide you super good experience L1: (At least 10 songs) Basically, this is the first 10 songs you should react to get the glimpse of this band and you can do in any order but should complete these before moving on - Road of Resistance - Papaya - Monochrome - Metali ! - Megitsune - Karate - Ijime, Dame, Zettai - Headbangeeeeerrrrr!!!!! - Gimme Chocolate - Distortion L2: (At least 7 songs from this group) These will be some deep dive songs that comprise multiple genre - Akatsuki * recommend - Amore - Awadama Fever - Babymetal Death - Believing - Brand New Day - BxMxC - Catch Me If You Can - Da Da Dance - Divine Attack (Shingeki) - Doki Doki ☆ Morning - Elevator Girl - Iine! - In the Name Of - Kagerou - Maya - Metalizm - Mirror Mirror - Night Night Burn! - Oh! Majinai (featuring Joakim Brodén) - Rondo of Nightmare - Shanti Shanti Shanti - Song 4 - Syncopation - Uki Uki ★ Midnight - Yava! Trilogy of light ~ >> Contain 3 songs as a series, if you choose to react these in L2, you should do all three in order :) - Starlight - Shine - Arkadia L3: (At least 1 song from this group) Pure Ballad, change your mood a bit with the stunning voice by Su - No Rain No Rainbow* recommend - The One - The Legend L4: (At least 2 songs from this group) Almost there ! this would be transitional songs to their epicness ! - Time Wave - Light and Darkness - Metal Kingdom* recommend L5: (not before you react 20 BM songs) Are you ready for the epicness ? Congratulations, now you're true BM fan :) Fun fact about this final showdown: this song is only performed on stage 3 times - From Dust till dawn Special: If not enough, please check out their other songs as well - Kimi to Anime Ga Mitai - Answer for Animation With You - Onedari Daisakusen - Meta Taro - GJ! - Sis. Anger - Tales of The Destinies - Future Metal - ↑↓←→BBAB
Nice first reaction! 🤘🦊🤘 Thank you for giving BABYMETAL a chance!!! BABYMETAL is a Japanese kawaii (cute) metal group (a metal subgenre that they created) that formed in 2010 when the 3 girls were 11-12 years old (yes, they were very young), and since then have performed with, toured with, or opened for Metallica, Korn, Sabaton, Bring Me The Horizon, Dragonforce, Guns N' Roses, Lady Gaga, Rob Halford of Judas Priest (there's a great youtube video of their performance with Rob at a metal award show), and Red Hot Chili Peppers (there is a youtube video of them performing Gimme Chocolate with RHCP, as well as with Korn, and DragonForce), to name a few of many. They have performed at large metal events/concerts in front of 65,000+ skeptical metalheads in Europe (Glastonbury, Download, Sonisphere, etc), US, and Asia. They are the first Japanese band to perform at Wembley arena in the UK. Also, 20+ awards have been given to them. They have 60+ songs and each one is different from the other, so I hope you give the other songs a try. By the way, they have some really great heavy songs too, and I hope you like guitar solos, as well as bass and drum solos, like I do, because they have them too. Also, they are currently on another world tour that included many dates here in the USA, and released a new amazing album just a few months ago! They also just released a new music video for their song called "Metali" that features Rage Against The Machine's Tom Morello.🤘🦊🤘
Whoa!!! Aloha Coach &Mama Coach🤙🏽, another banger right here Coach these are amazing very talented and very well liked by soo many fans across the globe. Great reaction Coach,Aloha😉🤙🏽
Aloha! We enjoyed this, and have heard that they have a big following. We can see their production value is very high and will certainly have them on the channel again. Thanks for watching!
BABYMETAL is a performance you absolutly don't wanna miss. There are so many good female metal bands coming out of japan, I would recommend "Hanabie. - We love sweets" they are a hard/metalcore band, "Nemophila - Zen Live" they are a more traditional thrash metal band, "Lovebites. - Stand and Deliver" they are a powermetal band, any of those you will probably be impressed.
This is one of the best reaction videos of babymetal. Japan is hot in the rock world right now: LoveBites,Nemophila, etc. I recommend Road of Resistance - Live in Japan as the next song to listen to by babymetal.
Only way to watch Babymetal is live, every song has an uplifting fun theme. like this one, a 15 yr old girl seeing her first heavy metal gig, to Pa Pa Ya, about a summer festival salad, and Karate, about helping each other to fight and overcome anything, to keep moving forward. Every song is different and awesome. speaking of "traditional" heavy metal, there is no song as metal as Babymetal "Death" Live. it doesn't get any more metal than the lead singer, 16 yrs old, getting crucified on stage. (for her 16th birthday) Speaking of crowd control Su-Metal is the QUEEN of crowd control and Metal!
I couldn't agree more. Su-Metal holds the audience attention like no other entertainer I've ever seen. Her crowd control in Road of Resistance is jaw-dropping.
You're looking at the future my friend... Now days, They are almost as popular around the world as they are back in Japan. I just have to think back and say what was I doing at 15 years old.
Great stuff guys, had a blast watching you check the band out for the first time! Im glad you enjoyed them too and hopefully you get to see a bunch more live shows - they don't disappoint, we promise :)
Hi Pete from Ireland again, 😊 wow you made my day, babymetal, you mentioned a few things, crowd participation, so watch road of resistance live in Japan, and monochrome live, the one that was on your suggestion screen when you finished that video, next you mentioned live, this is one of the few bands that us better viewed on live video rather than produced mv, and finally you mentioned fusion, this was deliberate and I think a way for people like me that cant take the aggressive metal you see all too often, thanks fir the great reaction
If you've got any doubts about Babymetal's Metal credentials they've been going now for 13 YEARS . They've toured the world numerous times on their own and have either opened for , toured with or collaborated with some of the biggest names in Rock & Metal - Metallica , GunsN'Roses , RHCP , Korn , Sabaton , Rob Halford ( Judas Priest ) , Tom Morello ( RATM ) , Kingslayer to name but a few which gives you some idea of the respect in which they are held by their peers + numerous festivals worldwide . They regularly play to crowds of 20k + at their own concerts . All this and Su-Metal the lead singer ( and oldest ) will be just 26 this month !
Babymetal is certainly a unique sound, and does take a bit to get used to. But then you realize how talented the musicians are, and how hard working and charismatic the ladies are. I’ve been a fan of Baby Metal for nearly a decade now. So much fun:
The name says it all: Baby (cute) + Metal The girls of this group split off from the traditional jpop idol music style to pursue a new metal genre that combines elements of jpop/jrock and metal.
Welcome to the fox hole!! That was a good one to be introduced to BABYMETAL!!! They shine live, if you want to check more of their live stuff, I recommend this ones (the three first are my favourites because they are performancing outside of their comfort zone, that's to say, in the west): - Karate - Live at Download Festival - Ijime Dame Zettai - Live at Sonicsphere - Distortion - Live at Download - Road of Resistance - Live in Japan - Catch me if you can (with Kami band intro)live at Budokan Black Night. - Rondo of Nightmare with mischiefs of Metal Gods Intro
This is a fun group to watch. Live is where they shine, I call the pre-2018 shows with Yui Classic Babymetal. You are in for an amazing journey. As someone said of them when they started touring out of Japan: "They are the most famous high school girls in Japan"
Headbanger is also a pun. The song is about a girl going to a concert. She is a metal fan, a headbanger. In Japan a Ban-gurl is a girl fan of a band. The head Ban-gurl is like the fan club president. So she is head Ban-gurl & headbanger
Welcome to BABYMETAL. BABYMETAL is Japan's most internationally active metal unit. They have already played 90 shows in various countries this year, and yesterday they sent a crowd of 7000 into a frenzy in Hamburg. They just finished their show in Berlin. More BABYMETAL!
Have to sub. I want to watch your voyage of Babymetal. They saved my musical soul. What 5 and 1/2 years ago CD player died radio stunk eldest daughter showed me TH-cam and Babymetal and my spirit was healed. Retirement was saved. Just found your channel and my TH-cam stream or whatever they call it so I don't know if this is your first devil at Japanese rock or metal. But there is such a list of great all female playing their own instrument bands coming out of Japan and they're better than at least 2/3 of the garbage played on the radio in America today. Enjoy. And one more thing, #notacult
Glad to have you onboard! We have not reacted to any other Japanese rock or metal. We were introduced to this after doing some K-pop reactions. We tend to also think the pop coming out of Asia is better than western pop for the most part, as well.
Babymetal are Japan's most famous musical export. They combine heavy metal music with Japanese J-pop vocals, dance and aesthetics to create a fusion that they called "kawaii metal" (cute metal). The group was the brainchild of their producer/manager Kobametal (Key Kobayashi), who wanted to revitalize interest in metal in Japan by making a crossover act that could serve as a gateway to metal for pop fans. Babymetal began in 2010 as a side project of the schoolgirl J-pop group Sakura Gakuin when group members Su-metal, Yuimetal, and Moametal were 12, 10 and 10 years old respectively. A few years later in 2013, Babymetal's popularity was such that they spun off to become an independent act, which they have continued to this day. They are most famous for their elaborate and spectacular live shows, as you saw in this video, and fans (including me) travel from all over the world to Japan in order to attend. The three founding members that feature in this video are lead vocalist Su-metal (Suzuka Nakamoto), and backing vocalists and dancers Yuimetal (Yui Mizuno) and Moametal (Moa Kikuchi). Yuimetal retired from Babymetal in 2018 due to illness, but Moametal continues with Su-metal to this day, and they have since been joined by Momometal (Momoko Okazaki), who officially joined the group in April this year. When Babymetal perform live, they are accompanied by a group of musicians known as the Kami Band (God/Spirit Band), who are made up of some of Japan's best session musicians. The Kami Band only perform at live shows, not on the albums, and they are not considered to be part of Babymetal; only the three girls are Babymetal. Despite being a Japanese band that sings in Japanese, Babymetal has fans in every corner of the globe, and they tour more extensively that any other Japanese musical act. In fact, they are currently on tour in Europe, having already performed over 60 shows this year in Europe, Asia, Australia, and America. Babymetal fans are collectively known as "The One", and individually are called "kitsune" (fox) if male, and "megitsune" (vixen) if female. To say that we are fanatical is a bit of an understatement, but any rumors you might hear about us being a cult are false. #notacult
They can actually speak english pretty well right now givin that when they met Oliver from bring me the horizon back stage on a tour a couple years ago they could barely speak a sentence
Babymetal is one of my favorites, I have seen them live also back around the time of this song. that was a compilation of multiple live performances most of them from when they were about 16 years old, yeah 16(and 14) year old girls in complete control of over 50,000 people in some of those venues. There were clips of them doing it when they are older, today they are about 25 years old. They really only do videos of performances, they really dont need MVs. There are some out there but not many. The Kami Band(white robes) are incredible musicians as well. You will love everything they do. Their earliest videos will be when they are about 10 and 12 years old, yeah doing metal most are from when they are 16 to 18 and the song topics are for their age(I speak japanese). Some performances like the babymetal death from the 1997 legend concert(birth year of one of them) is insane, even the old 70s metal bands would not do what these girls did lol. Songs about girls pressured to not eat to be thin, anti bully, making a plan to get dad to buy presents, today the songs are more about life experiences and etc because they are adults now. They also have some collabs, a really good one is them singing Judas Priest songs live with Rob Halford himself. Great metal band, probably the best for overall production in performance. If you want a really good hard rock band, women who can shred guitars, probably the best basist in the world, or at least up there with the likes of flea and one of the best drummers as well, Band Maid(also japanese). You already know about mamamoo the best group of vocalists.
Welcome to the Fox hole, every song they do is different. Few recommendations 👇 1. Megitsune (music video specifically even though BabyMetal is best seen live) 2. Rondo of Nightmare with Mischiefs of God intro Budokan live (highlights the kami band behind the girls, they are front and center!) 3. Road of Resistance live in Japan 4. Pa pa ya live 5. BMTH Kingslayer ft BabyMetal (official lyric video, probably most replayed song for me) 6. BxMxC live 7. Akatsuki live 8. Headbanger 1997 live ---from New album 1. Monochrome live 2. Maya live And many more ...
BABYMETAL incorporated dance into Metal. But that dance is not obscene like K-pop. I think that's a big part of reason because these girls were teenagers, but the ladies still don't do that kind of dance. And that's what I love BM. Thank you from Japan.
In case you missed it, the music in this video was from a single concert, but the images came from a half dozen different concerts. Different costume colors. Different stage size and decor. In the early days the band wore those skeleton onesies. Then they went with the Japanese "ghost" style of white faces and white robes.
Love seeing folks experience to Babymetal for the first time. You folks did a nice job. I am only recently become aware of this amazing group. And no, nobody else does what they do. They are known for their epic live performances. They actually formed in 2010 when the three females were in their teens. They are now in their 20's and going strong. Their engagement of audiences is almost beyond parallel and the group loves their crowds. This video by the way was a compilation from several performances giving a nice taste of the unique spectacles they put on everytime. Really fun reaction and keep up the good work.
Might I recommend their epic, anthem, homage to their fans. It is called "the One". And it steers more towards progressive rock. And A warning after listening to this I typically cannot get the beautiful almost haunting melody out of my head. It is a wonderful "love" letter to their fans and demonstrates a bit of how epic Babymetal can be. Link follows: th-cam.com/video/TZRvO0S-TLU/w-d-xo.html
Time to take a trip down the fox hole (Thats how its referred when diving into babymetal content instead of a rabbit hole, because the "Fox God" is the one behind the music.) The MUST reaction when it comes to babymetal is definitely "Road to Resistance, live in Japan (official)", it's an absolute amazing performance, and the crowd participation is top tier. Babymetal has now been around for over a decade, toured the world, met with several metal legends over the years (even performing with some) and while some seem confused with the concept in general, these legends have given the group their approval and say they belong and have earned their spot. I believe in some rankings babymetal has even been put into the top 10 for metal bands all time. The band behind the girls is the "Kami band" btw (pronounced like Kah-mee) which translates to "God".
@@CoachCastTV The hand gesture they use also resembles a fox. Instead of the typical devil horns people hold up related to metal. The middle and ring finger along with the thumb meet at their tips sticking forward, with the index and pinky pointing up. Originally one of the girls kept doing that instead of the devil horns and its how the fox god was born. Their music references the fox god a lot, and when asked in interviews about production or lyrics or future things they respond saying "Only the Fox God knows" or how the Fox God had created them.
BABYMETAL are the most unique metal experiences in the world right now coming from Japan 🇯🇵. Not only their appearances, and their styl,e and everything that surrounds them visually but they’re an incredible band as well and they’re so passionate about metal, they know everything about the metal music world 🌏 and they’ve created a very special feeling and experience within the entire metal community. They work extremely hard to create something unique for every community ranging from the young to old. Babymetal may not be everyone's metier but if you don't like fine. You may not like them but respect them. Kitsune Up 🦊🦊🦊🤘🤘🤘🇯🇵🇸🇬#notacult.
I've seen them live two days ago. I've been in the middle of the crowd, in the pit. The energy was awesome. Just motherfuckin' awesome. I've never experienced something like this. The genre is called "kawaii metal" which means cute/adorable metal. A mix out of J-Pop and metal. And it works perfectly.
@@CoachCastTV Just pure energy. They never stopped slam-dancing even during the slower tracks. Screaming all around, the crowd was also like a wave bouncing back and forth. You could just freak out and let yourself go. I'll be there again at 12/1 in Offenbach because I need to be there again. Even alone, I don't care.
👍 👍
BabyMetal began in 2010 there were Suzuka Nakamoto age 12 Moa Kikuchi and Yui Mizuno.
Avoid Glastonbury LIVE performances as the sound production by the BBC (who was in charge of that festival did a terrible job - mics not turned on, incorrect volume levels, etc.)
Suggest reacting to these HQ Pro Shot videos of LIVE performances for a start.

Yui Mizuno left BabyMetal in 2018 due to health reasons and at their concert in Yokohama on April 1 it was announced that a permanent third member Momoko Okazaki (who is also a graduate of Sakura Gakuin and has been appearing with them LIVE since 2019 after Yui's departure) has officially become the third member.
Their new album in my opinion that released March 24 is amazing with so many different styles.
Good luck and hope to see you again.
Wow, fantastically informative comment. We really appreciate all the great info contained in this post.

Welcome to the Foxhole! 🤘🦊🤘
Most of the truly important information has been or will be given in other comments, so I like to give the fun titles and nicknames given by The ONE (Babymetal’s Fan-base) as well as other (un)important information.
Fun Fact: Bullfrogs are her Kryptonite
Yui Mizuno\Yuimetal (Scream and Dance) Former member since 2018: Angel of Dance, Princess Yui, Tomato Princess, Kawaii Princess and Devourer of Souls (or at least she stares into your soul).
They were:
Momoko Okazaki (see above).
Kano only performed with BABYMETAL in Japan as she could not travel, likely due to her commitments to Sakura Gakuin and the then developing @onefive.

my favorite pastime has become watching first time reaction's to BABYMETAL lol the look of confusion kills me every time they are definitely the most unique group in music today trust me they grow on you and live they are absolutely amazing
Especially loved the Coach's look of total confusion. 🦊🍗🍑 😏
And remember to BringMoaChicken
Wish I could have seen my face first time 🤣👍🤘🏼🦊
I've been doing the same thing since I discovered them four years ago this month.
same, I been following BABYMETAL since 2012 and always cracks me up to see the faces of people that discover them for the first time, especially with the live videos.
Baby Metal is a band that combines jpop and heavy metal. Please listen to other songs as well.❤
Ah, so it is a fusion of sorts. Thanks!
Yeah,that's right
I did not like it... Commercial package... You don't even see the real band playing (suposing they really play...)
@akatzukianlun4033 Exactly! And this KAMI band not even really plays "alive" in the Babymetal shows. you can notice the playback. Its funny to see "specialists" giving their blessing for somethhing so fake that even is mocking heavy metal.
@@euclides9156 It's not mocking metal at all, you (and others i suppose) just decided that it is.
Cheerleading + nursery rhymes + heavy metal, that was my first description too. Some videos later (that same day): "who puts that amount of money into heavy metal... today?".
And 7 years later, I'm still watchitng reactions to their music.
LOL! It's an interesting concept and somehow it works.
Babymetal only invests the money they make. They started with no funding and the company Amuse takes some money of the top of course.
welcome to the wonderful world of BABYMETAL, I can guarantee that they have a few songs that will bring an emotional response from both of you, with 70 songs and none of them are the same and every sub genre of metal mixed with worldly styles. Their fandom is called "The ONE" which I have been a loyal subject for 7 years and have seen them Live here in the USA 5 times and I can safely say the 5 best shows I have ever seen. They are a virtual thrill ride for the senses.
Thanks! We are looking forward to hearing more from them.
We will definitely do more of their stuff. Thanks for watching!
Totally the best part is the broken brain syndrome that most first timers get watching BM. The second best part is the tears of joy and pride that come later. :)
Ahhh, I always like people who react to BABYMETAL for the first time with feelings of confusion and curiosity lol 😂
Yeah, that explained our feelings listening to this one. LOL
The more you listen to BABYMETAL, the more you’ll be drawn in, trust me!
So I recommend their latest official MV, for example 'Mirror mirror', 'Metal kingdom' on You Tube.😀
i love Metal Kingdom
Babymetal loves you 🤘🦊🤘
Thanks so much. We definitely will do more from them.
Thanks very much. We plan on listening to more in the near future.
If no one has told you, the song is about a girl going to her first heavy metal concert and being amazed by the headbanging and hair flying around.
Thanks. Yeah it was mentioned but we always appreciate the comments. 😀
They make me laugh, smile, and feel like a kid again (im 46)
No two songs sound alike.
It's not like anything we've seen before, so we're very open to seeing more. Thanks for the info and for watching!
Big crowds? How about selling out back-to-back concerts at 55,000 seat Tokyo Dome?
That would be a "Baby Bones" onesie in this case. When the group started, sometimes they couldn't afford to hire a band to play the music live. Actors in skeleton onsies were brought in to pretend to play the instruments.
If you want to do another of my favorite band. I'd say Karate M/V (most of the time, you'll want to find a live version, but Karate has one of the select few truly great M/Vs)
We'll add that to the list to do soon. And many thanks for your generosity as always. We need some Baby Bones onesies in the house. LOL
Your in for a heck of a ride, BABYMETAL is like nothing else you have ever encountered.
I suggest BABYMETAL - ROAD OF RESISTANCE, Live in Japan (and everything else they have ever done!)
Kitsune dao!
We look forward to it!
@@CoachCastTV I know we will all be looking forward to following along with you.
this band is everything the world needs. :)
it'd be a shame if you didn't watch more of this band, especially their live performances.
We definitely plan on doing more from them.
Thanks for this reaction, glad you enjoyed it, subbed for more. 🙂
Something to make clear, this was a compilation video of Babymetal performing the same song over the years (also clips make it easier to upload on TH-cam, copyright is... not always fun on TH-cam), if you look closely first thing you can notice is how their clothes change.
Until next time!
🤘🦊
Thanks for the great comment!
I am so happy I was able to obtain the Blu-ray of the 1997 concert. Recommend you also check out that performance. 🦊 🖖 ❤
Plz do Babymetal DEATH live in 1997!! It's a theatrical metal MASTERPIECE!!
(Many are grand-daughters in terms of age.)
Uh-oh, we also say "Japan is the country obsessed by Jazz". It had started earlier than rock 😄
Thanks! This group impressed us and we are very interested in hearing more.
Well, that's quite a backstory! Wow...thanks for sharing that with us.
I had a feeling Mrs. Coach was going to like this one.
Surprisingly to Coach, she did!
Road of Resistance - Live in Japan. It’s a must see.
The iconic performance of "Headbanger" is at the Legend of 1997 concert from 2013. Su, singer, celebrated her 16th birthday the day before the concert. Yui and Moa, Dance and Scream were 14 yo!!
Baby metal is very popular in the us
Is there a place they not popular?
Welcome to the Foxhole and BabyMetal journey.🦊🤘🔥
Cool you got this song as a first suggestion but trust me there's a lot of better version to enjoy this without the messiness of this live compilation, it's even more meaningful when this got a context with each one of the original clips.
They are:
*SuMetal* lead vocalist, now 25.
Another thing that you don't see so much in their live performance is, when YuiMetal and MoaMetal are having fun with cryo or smoke gun, the choreography on this part is with them down on their knees and doing the "dogeza hedoban" which is like bowing down back and forth summoning the metal spirit represented by the neckbrace while SuMetal is standing with the mic rise up and her relentless death stare, that's another moment we called -NotACult-
The Kami Band here are insane set of elite musicians who were send to help with the metal sound, "kami" means roughly "god", they're wearing burial white robes and corpse face paint to represent those spiritual entities.
They rotate so probably you won't see some of them in all live concerts (especially the guitarrists).
They are:
- Míkio Fujioka, god of guitar, a beloved member, sadly he passed away in 2018. (R.I.P.)
- Leda Cygnus, god of guitar, he's the only Kami Band member who's credited as a session musician when recording some albums tracks.
Next suggestion:

See you next time!🦊🤘🛐

th-cam.com/video/BSjv9OYtWZ0/w-d-xo.html

- Kimi To Anime Ga Mitai - Answer For Animation With You, live at Budokan 2014, not sure if it's still safe, so try some filters, if is audio blocked try to mute or just cut the parts.
th-cam.com/video/M8FKumvh-w8/w-d-xo.html

Wow, the info in these two posts is overwhelming and important and we'll probably have to read this multiple times. Hopefully, this will also help our viewers who are new to the group, as well. Many thanks for taking the time to compile all this information for us.
2014.. Buddy from Japan slipped his Babymetal cd into my deck.. I almost wrecked my car 🤣🤣
We appreciate this info!
Saw them at 18th November in Hamburg, the show , the Music... Amazing, love it

BABYMETAL - Road of Resistance - Live in Japan (OFFICIAL) is another Babymetal classic!
Good info. We definitely plan on listening to more.
Your reactions are AWESOME!!!

Thanks for that info!
I really liked your reaction to Babymetal Mr and Mrs Coach , welcome to the club !
Thanks! We have another one on Friday.
Theyve performed more than a few times in your neck of the woods too. They have quite the following.
I recommended BABYMETAL - メギツネ - MEGITSUNE (OFFICIAL), BABYMETAL - Road of Resistance - Live in Japan (OFFICIAL), BABYMETAL - Divine Attack - 神撃 -【Live Blu-ray/DVD「BABYMETAL BEGINS - THE OTHER ONE -」"CLEAR NIGHT" , BABYMETAL - METALIZM (OFFICIAL), BABYMETAL - METAL KINGDOM (OFFICIAL), BABYMETAL - KARATE (OFFICIAL), BABYMETAL - PA PA YA!! (feat. F.HERO) (OFFICIAL), BABYMETAL - ヘドバンギャー!!- Headbangeeeeerrrrr!!!!!!! (OFFICIAL), BABYMETAL - BxMxC (OFFICIAL), BABYMETAL - Shanti Shanti Shanti (OFFICIAL), BABYMETAL - Ijime,Dame,Zettai - Live at Sonisphere 2014,UK (OFFICIAL)
Thanks very much!
(for her 16th birthday)
Speaking of crowd control Su-Metal is the QUEEN of crowd control and Metal!
We plan on doing more, for sure!
you two are watching the best show in the world...Yui forever 🥰🍅
Babymetal is amazing.
You are in for a ride
Hi Pete from Ireland again, 😊 wow you made my day, babymetal, you mentioned a few things, crowd participation, so watch road of resistance live in Japan, and monochrome live, the one that was on your suggestion screen when you finished that video, next you mentioned live, this is one of the few bands that us better viewed on live video rather than produced mv, and finally you mentioned fusion, this was deliberate and I think a way for people like me that cant take the aggressive metal you see all too often, thanks fir the great reaction
Thans so much for watching and this nice comment.
Su is another level singer.. once in a lifetime
other members are always amazing..
the 3 make babymetal babymetal
BABYMETALに出会ってくれて、ありがとうございます☺️
We enjoyed it!
Babymetal is certainly a unique sound, and does take a bit to get used to.
But then you realize how talented the musicians are, and how hard working and charismatic the ladies are.
I’ve been a fan of Baby Metal for nearly a decade now. So much fun:
The name says it all: Baby (cute) + Metal
The girls of this group split off from the traditional jpop idol music style to pursue a new metal genre that combines elements of jpop/jrock and metal.
The skeleton onesie is Skullomania from Street Fighter EX.
Case you got confused, the video is made of mashed-up Headbanger performed live from as early as 2015 till the most recent ones.
Yeah, a lot of this confused us some. 😆 🤣 Noticed some stage changes but was so overwhelmed forgot to mention it. 😅
Your wife loves talking about crowds;) Babymetal is the best! Check out some more... They were very young here...They get better and better!
Great reaction,more BABY METAL reaction
If ya haven't reached to Band-Maid yet I highly recommend you do.
初めての "ベビーメタル" ありがとうございます🦊 React to next "BABYMETAL- Ijime,Dame,Zettai - Live at Sonisphere 2014,UK"
The genres of J-Pop and heavy metal collide with a vengeance in Baby Metal. They are the most unique band in music. And they are highly addictive.
I love them. Thank you
Welcome to the fox hole!!
That was a good one to be introduced to BABYMETAL!!! They shine live, if you want to check more of their live stuff, I recommend this ones (the three first are my favourites because they are performancing outside of their comfort zone, that's to say, in the west):
- Karate - Live at Download Festival
- Ijime Dame Zettai - Live at Sonicsphere
- Distortion - Live at Download
- Road of Resistance - Live in Japan
- Catch me if you can (with Kami band intro)live at Budokan Black Night.
- Rondo of Nightmare with mischiefs of Metal Gods Intro
Thank you! We did enjoy it and plan to do more.
Thanks. We'll definitely do more.
Enjoy.
And one more thing,
#notacult
Glad to have you onboard! We have not reacted to any other Japanese rock or metal. We were introduced to this after doing some K-pop reactions. We tend to also think the pop coming out of Asia is better than western pop for the most part, as well.
If you want to get to know the band more, react to Rondo of Nightmare babymetal.
#notacult
Very interesting. We appreciate the comments.
They can actually speak english pretty well right now givin that when they met Oliver from bring me the horizon back stage on a tour a couple years ago they could barely speak a sentence
More BABYMETAL ! ! !
🎶🎶🦊👁️👁️🦊🎶🎶
BABYMETAL is happiness
Babymetal uses the same choreographer as fellow Amuse property group, Perfume.
Few recommendations 👇
1. Megitsune (music video specifically even though BabyMetal is best seen live)
2. Rondo of Nightmare with Mischiefs of God intro Budokan live (highlights the kami band behind the girls, they are front and center!)
3. Road of Resistance live in Japan
4. Pa pa ya live
5. BMTH Kingslayer ft BabyMetal (official lyric video, probably most replayed song for me)
6. BxMxC live
7. Akatsuki live
8. Headbanger 1997 live
---from New album
1. Monochrome live
2. Maya live
And many more ...
Thank you so much for these!
Great, they are the best! Seen them live several times and it is almost scary how Su-metal can comand crowds of thousands of people to her liking.
BABYMETAL incorporated dance into Metal. But that dance is not obscene like K-pop. I think that's a big part of reason because these girls were teenagers, but the ladies still don't do that kind of dance. And that's what I love BM. Thank you from Japan.
Thanks for watching!
In case you missed it, the music in this video was from a single concert, but the images came from a half dozen different concerts. Different costume colors. Different stage size and decor. In the early days the band wore those skeleton onesies. Then they went with the Japanese "ghost" style of white faces and white robes.
Yeah, noticed the stage differences but at the time was too overwhelmed to mention it. LOL
You need to be Headbanging...
🎶🎶🦊👁️👁️🦊🎶🎶
Love seeing folks experience to Babymetal for the first time. You folks did a nice job. I am only recently become aware of this amazing group. And no, nobody else does what they do. They are known for their epic live performances. They actually formed in 2010 when the three females were in their teens. They are now in their 20's and going strong. Their engagement of audiences is almost beyond parallel and the group loves their crowds. This video by the way was a compilation from several performances giving a nice taste of the unique spectacles they put on everytime. Really fun reaction and keep up the good work.
Thank you so much. We look forward to seeing more.
Good info. We kept hearing fox hole in the comments so we assumed that was their version of rabbit hole. LOL
@@robertm1015 😁That's great!
You guys shocked reaction really made me laugh so muchh

The crowd in this was off the charts. We can only imagine what it must be like live.
