Doesint using a blade to cut out reverse lights cut into the light ? Im trying to figure out how to do it without damaging the light like using nifeless tape
This is laminx tail light material. You dont have to cut all the way through to cut it. Just score the top of the material and tear, it will follow thr score line. I have also been an installer for the last 13 years. I had to learn how to use a knife because knifeless wasn't invented yet. Lol
Angel Martinez it would, but I have been doing this for over a decade. You have to know to only score the material, not go all the way through, then peel the material out. The material is thick and will follow the score line. It's 10 times thicker then window tint.
umm... what on earth is the point of doing that? Tinting windows I understand, privacy, sun glare in your eyes etc, but the whole point of lights is that they light up, right?
xXFIREWIREXx yes, it is a steamer. Two reasons that I use it. Softens that material and adhesive differently then a heat gun for glue lines, and a heat gun can burn the material making it look like chicken skin (uncooked).
That's fast mate, great job
I just bought vht Nightshade but you make this Look So Easy I'll probably return it and do this instead.
Cutting out the reverse lights are so tough
I don't get why you havent got alot more subscribers you have done some good videos
I dont advertise. Lol
06:15 Obviously skilled hands, but from a DIY perspective, I think I'm going to skip this step. Lol.
Very nice. I would think that the final tucking around the grooves would be done before cutting the reverse light portion?
Its to set the edges after the cut
Absolutely skilled
What's the alternative instead of using a steamer? Water is in the spray bottle? Great job...thx !
Soapy water in a spray bottle works too
Looks great! Is the color of the tint smoked or gunsmoke?
is that just water/mist coming out of the hose?
What kind of cutting knife is that. I want something sharp enough to be able to cut the reverse light with ease
It's a regular nt cutter red dot knife. The trick is to only score the material and not cut all the way through.
Color of the car made me click. Beautiful
girl600show color is called Caribbean shimmer from 3m.
Awesome job nice
Tinted mine yesterday. Do I need to reheat it before cutting out a part of it or just cut away?
To wrap is easy, But to cut with knife and to not damage paint on body car is Hell hard!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Was that hot water you were spraying on rather than a heat gun?looking to do a DIY job so just trying to figure out what I need
No is was 90% water 10% rubbing alcohol,
The steamer applied the heat.

Have the tint shrank by any chance or is it still the same as the video?
Using the razor blade to cut out the reverse lights, wouldn't that scratch the actual lense???

girl600show will post one in a few.
girl600show video of the car is up.
Hi ! What % tint is that for the tails?
Karen Chin it's opposite of tint. This is what we call medium smoke. Don't have the percentage of light filter. Material is from laminx
Was that a steam machine used?
xXFIREWIREXx for what when he was drying it because that's a heater or you can use a hair dryer
xXFIREWIREXx yes, it is a steamer. Two reasons that I use it. Softens that material and adhesive differently then a heat gun for glue lines, and a heat gun can burn the material making it look like chicken skin (uncooked).
