I played this in high school obsessively, and here I am (an embarrassing amount of decades later) using it as my work music. Who knew a track playing on a mission to save the world could be so chill?
Ya its definitely the best soundtrack in the series, game music is designed to help you focus and accomplish tasks in game so makes sense that its great work music
It's hard for anyone exposed to the spoilers to ever really appreciate what it was like doing a blind playthrough of the Plant chapter for the first time -- as a kid. So much of the story is about Raiden's coming-of-age in a world dominated by secrecy and espionage. The character begins out of his depth, the player feels out of his depth with this part of the game, and we're all out of our depth in real life. On so many levels, all we can do is humbly and awkwardly focus on surviving the mission that's most immediately in front of us as we slowly and gradually piece together the big picture of what we decide is ultimately worth living and fighting for.
this game must have been very memorable and impactful for 20 to 40 year olds when the game released in 2001, i would just like to play it back then to see people’s reaction
