I agree, I really like Solidus as a character and a Villain. He’s one of those characters at the end of the game when you beat him you ask yourself “was he the good guy? Or the bad guy?” I just wish he wasn’t kinda like a throwaway villain.
i think that solidus's major exclusion from the rest of the series is actually pretty clever, considering that he was so intent on remaining as an "exon" in history and ironically became an "intron". it's certainly sad, because he was an amazing character, but it also shows how effective the patriots were at censoring information.
even his final words in the game are hidden or "censored" and when he comes back to play a dead body in MGS 4, he finally fulfilled his purpose of being a perfect clone of BB by being his dead body double
This was a really fun fight. I loved how Raiden plays differently as he's a lot more agile than Snake so the fight feels much more dynamic. Solidus was a cool character and this ost really fights him. Gives hints of intrigue and mystery but an underlying tone of aggression. It's not too over the top, but just memorable enough. Always blown away by Metal Gear Solid's osts.
I have to agree with you as well as to say I think in terms of a final boss theme I think this has to be the best in all of metal gear even if it doesn't make the same emotional impact as the other final boss themes it's got that really intense pressure feel a final boss theme should have.
@@trickmaster5632 Metal Gear is such a good series; I love all the games for different reasons. But 2 will always be the first one I played so it has a ton of nostalgia for me haha.
Im going to be honest, this game was not only totally ahead of its time, but was also right. I started respecting Kojima with this game, and his vision of the future of the internet, complemented with the manipulation of Raiden. This game, was literally in the future.
Kojima didn't invent it, he's a massive film buff and this kinda stuff has been a topic in movies for ages, he just took bits and pieces from cool movies he liked and stitched together, has does have good taste though, the biggest danger is that gaming might lose Kojima to hollywood, because his passion is still clearly in the movie industry and he's inching closer towards it all the time

I like how nobody ever talks about how Raiden took on 3-20 Metal Gear RAY's at once. In fact in MGR you hear more about the Harrier fight more than you do this fight, and the Harrier fight isn't all that hard.

Solidus is one of the coolest characters in the series, in terms of design, motivation, voice..... I just wish we would have had more of him.
Same. If there are any flaws in the MGS series, this is one of them.
Solidus always wasn't enough credit not by Kojima nor the community. It is good to see people caring for my boy.

Heres a trick unless they changed it all you have to do is put all the metal gears all down to the same health then you pass it. The first three

Yes you are! You're nothing but mere weapons. Not different from fighter jets or tanks.
Oct 2021 This was one hell of a game to platinum, enjoyed it so much, i'm kinda sad it's over
Man, it's 2024, IA "art" is expanding everywhere, we NEED someone like Solidus, in 2002 we KNEW he was the good guy 🥲
the fight in extreme was true hell
As I just figured out tonight. So satisfying delivering the killer blow.
Just like the ost itself.
Yep, I felt like both fights with solidus were the most difficult on Extreme (this one and the harrier battle)
“That is not solid snake!”
