It was a beautiful soundtrack. I felt like I was in spy movie all the way through! But I will never forget how MGS2 made me feel during the Arsenal Gear section, I remember feeling uneasy, that everything up that point wasn’t going to mean anything because the mood had totally shifted. And those weird codec calls from the colonel…..that game was a masterpiece
I close my eyes. it’s December of 1998. My grandparents house, just up the street, is warm with laughter and love as we celebrate my birthday. They hand me my last present, and I can hardly wait as I tear through the wrapping. Beneath the paper is a white jewel case with bold red letters staring back at me. Metal Gear Solid. In that moment, I feel so loved, so lucky, so excited. Later, we leave their house, stepping out into the cold, snowy night. The world outside is silent, but back home, my TV glows with a comforting warmth. I eagerly open the double disc case, my hands almost trembling, and pop the game into my PS1. The screen flickers to life, and I become Snake. Everything about gaming changes for me in an instant. The graphics are incredible, the gameplay revolutionary. Footsteps in the snow alert the guards, their intelligence catching me off guard as I try and fail to shake them. I hold my breath, sneaking through the shadows, lighting a cigarette to reveal security lasers. I can’t wait to share this experience with my friends. We’ve been hearing about this game for weeks now. But tonight, it’s just me, Snake, and the late night glow of discovery. I play until I can’t keep my eyes open, completely captivated by the gameplay and soundtrack. I open my eyes. It’s 2025. My grandparents are no longer here, and the house where I grew up, where this memory was born, belongs to someone else. As I listen to this track, the years fall away and I can feel it all over again. I miss you, Grandma and Grandpa. Thank you for this wonderful memory.
Aww that’s such a lovely memory dude. I hate getting older. I hate seeing my parents getting older. I hate the fact that my now 4 year old is getting bigger and will feel indifferent to going to the park with daddy in a few years time haha
@@T--xk3hfTime is crazy like that. I know exactly how you feel. These memories feel like a lifetime ago, but at the same time like it happened last week. Enjoy the moment while you’re in it! I also don’t enjoy seeing my parents get older, it’s just a reminder that we’re all here temporarily.
I actually think there was something lost when Kojima's team did their homework for tactical maneuvers in MGS2/TS. MGS1 got it wrong, but in the ways the _movies_ got it wrong, which ended up getting it even _more_ right for the style they were going for.
"just exactly who are you?" "I´m the fool that your uncle sent all alone into the middle of this whole mess" .... .... "could you be snake?, are you solid snake?... "that´s what some people call me"
I love how I can listen to this for hours straight and never get bored
"Be Careful, The Elevator won't work in Alert mode or Evasion mode"!
MGS1: Tense, atmospheric, nerve-wracking background music.
MGS5: "WE'RE THE KIDS IN AMEEEEERICA, WOO HOO, WE'RE THE KIDS IN AMEEEEERICA, WOO HOO!"
lol, love them both tbh
100% accurate. Phantom Pain was a disaster for the franchise in every aspect, especially the music.
@@rocketpunchgo1 MGS 5 had better gameplay and graphics and the OST was pretty good (especially Angola caution music). You're just being a contrarian.
@@metasequoia3097Nah 5 was bad, the only metal gear to rival 1 is 3
@@darkpromeathean937 3 is the best Metal Gear hands down. 5 wasn't bad though, just lacking.
The best MGS game with the best music, the mood and atmosphere.
Every game 1-4 has a claim to this title lol expect maybe 4 and it’s still one of the greatest games ever made
all the games are great!
@@Mrx.123 This is the correct answer. But I agree this game has the best atmosphere.

"Careful! You absolutely must NOT use weapons in that area"
-"I already programmed his nanomachines so he won't be able to"
-"WHAT!?"
An absolute masterpiece.
that bass is iconic sound and that choir rip straight from the Fairlight CMII library makes this track
Just a box
‘Where are you?’
‘Right where I can see ya.’
Great thinking, exercising, housework and gaming track! Much of MGS 1 OST can be attributed to the above too 💯
I listen to MGS1 OST while I’m playing Destiny 2 it just seems right it’s an absolute masterpiece my favourite gaming ost of all time 😊
