- Here's another extended project featuring tunes from "Metal Gear Solid 2: Sons of Liberty" gaming soundtrack. A personal favorite of mine and of course, just another test of my "looping" abilities.
All rights goes to the original creator of this piece and the publisher, as this isn't of my own. Big shoutout to Awesmic for bestowing me his knowledge on editorial engineering.

This track help me realize that drum and base is one of my favorite genres of music.
Check out breakcore if you like that sound. It's a cool genre.

The best MGS game, who knew Kojima was a prophet. The soundtrack is incredible, the finale is incredible, just what a rush at the end!
It all was just long lasted plan of those soulless ones. What is their weakness? Lack of love.
IMHO, it only gets good after Emma inserts the virus and the game moves you to Arsenal Gear.
This game has a ton of flaws that are forgotten because the end of the game numbs the pain.
@@YuuyaKZMI I disagree, this game had some really good story beats and it was all aimed to puppet you along. The ending made everything make sense but for the most part we were left clueless and the plot twists after each boss reveals that everyone seems to know something we don't and we were constantly out of the loop of things...we just followed orders like a good boy.
Codec is where most of this magic happens, even without cutscenes the story narrative delivers on all fronts.
This was "solid" writing, yes it has its flaws but for a PS2 game dude you can excuse some of the negatives, this was already an ambitious project and really the game that put Kojima on the map (well MGS1 did but the popularity of 2 exploded the franchise).
@@Jameslawz I played through the entirety of Sons of Liberty, never found an interesting story piece outside of what I mentioned.
The writing was bare bones and I wanna say almost lazy until the parts I mentioned. Nostalgia is a very bad drug, don't take it if you want to argue against someone.
This game wasnt just written by kojima. Dont be such a cultist.
The higher the difficulty, the more Rays you have to face. I remember playing on Extreme and I had to destroy like 12 Rays. Very brutal and long fight. On Snake Tales you have to destroy like 8 of them as well.
I remember fight the 25 MG ray (all of them so) of them in E.E . But it was maybe just my imagination and the battle was just longer in my mind.

Did the difficulty rule apply in the OG ps2 version? I swear it wasn't until substance came out where they tied the amount of Ray's to the skill level or was that the bomb defusal that was affected?
@@Xineombine How do you even get there on E.E? My brother tried Extreme once and he could not keep Snake alive on the way to Rays. This was back when the game was fresh

Every day in the morning when I go work out in the gym I always put 30 minutes to this song because damn I’ve heard so many different workout songs but this for a metal gear solid two is just a masterpiece it literally gets you away from the reality of what’s going on with the world but it makes you into a better person when you use martial arts or training to fight

@@shoomp1030 Raiden should've been a unique fighter, with his MGR moveset. Venom Snake should've been the echo fighter.

I feel like a lot of the hate Raiden got was not fair. he's arguably Alot stronger than Solid Snake and from what i remember is definitely capable of beating him in most forms of combat. for those who think hes just a "Digital Grunt" he was a Child Soldier known for DOMINATING the Battle field earning the nickname "Jack the Ripper" and is Proficient in multiple Martial arts and Melee weapons specifically Machete and Swords. Solid Snake however is really only a Hand-to-Hand Operative with little to no training with long melee weapons making Raiden already alot more dangerous. but in saying this im referring to MGS2 Raiden. Raiden would soon be the Patient of Several of the Patriots experiments becoming Less than Human. Solid Snake aging Rapidly would already put Raiden at a huge advantage but i mean fuck dude like If you played Revengence you would know SS would be FUCKED

Doesn't sound the same without the Rays stomping about and roaring at you, and the occasional beeping from the missile lock...
To be fair, this is the version of the track that plays against Solidus (the mix is noticably different and there are extra portions not found on the RAY version).
Xineombine what he said ^ this version is father and son the ray version was call fight against mass produced rays while both similar father and son has more going on understandably see as it's the final boss of the game they had to make it more grander

OMG awesome. I LOVE the Metal Gear Solid soundtracks! I also remixed a song from the Twin Snakes album & combined it with "The Best is Yet to Come" in my Psycho Mantis tribute video!
All this time, I thought this song was referring to the Snakes, Naked and Solid
In the MGS4 soundtrack there is a Harry Gregson-Williams' track of the same name used as theme of the last moments between Big Boss/Naked Snake and Old/Solid Snake.
This one is from MGS2 and it's composed by Norihiko Hibino.
Well, they did choose Raiden and Solidus to play a part in the S3 plan because their relationship was very similar to Big Boss and Snake

I don't think you're mistaken. One of the themes in MGS is that you're a soldier on a battlefield, killing just like everyone else. And somehow you're the good guy because of your sense of justice, duty, or honor? You'll only survive if you "keep fighting for what you believe in". And believe in what you're fighting for. That's what makes you the good guy. This goes for Raiden, Solid Snake, Big Boss especially, and of course Solidus.
