    I have a 2016 model, 430000 kms now. Gearbox replaced at 280000kms. Left upper balljoint at 380000kms so replaced all 4. Will never change and no need to buy the new one yet.

    G'day Roothy! I absolutely love my Mindy S6 4x4 Double Cab Karoo!!! Been 130000km bashing around Southern African Bush tracks in the Water Agri and Catchment Management business with no issues and an absolute joy to drive on and offroad. Hilux? No thanks Mate. I'd rather buy 2 of these any day. Would I buy another? In a heartbeat! It's an ultra reliable Landy or Cruiser 70 series at a 3rd of the price. I'm a bigger fan than you I think! Bloody good kit! Love your work Roothy, keep it coming please!!! Craig, Kwazulu Natal, South Africa

    I had a 2022 M/T and traded it in for a 2024 A/T and I don't regret it a bit. Here in Costa Rica the M/T are S6 spec and the A/Ts are S11 spec. I enjoy all the creature comforts of the S11. I will say the manual has a more direct power response than the A/T, but overall I'm happy with it.

      $90,000 to $100,000 plus for an average 4wd ute here in Oz. Ridiculous! Last I looked, a base model Mahindra comes in at a shade over $40,000, which isn't much more than we paid over ten years ago for our Colorado.

    • @seekingaus4735
      @seekingaus4735 9 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      @@epicridesandtoursYou’ll drive away in a dual cab Hilux SR for about $55,000. About $45,000 for the base model Navara too. So it’s not really a fair subject because there are a lot of utes out there in a comparable range.

    Went with a Mahindra over an Isuzu in our Nepal coffee farming adventure on the basis of ubiquity and we've had no regrets 2 years in. The pickup body is cavernous. A so-far unbreakable appliance to shift stuff. Hoping Roothy had Mahindra UJs fitted and wishing him a speedy recovery.

    Some people in my own family think I'm nuts for liking the Pik Up, I even tried to get a manual license so I could drive one. They have auto box now and I have to say that makes me as an auto only driver happy. I like the price point, I like the aisin box. The vehicle is only as good as it's components. It will be my next vehicle, after my Kymco is paid off.

  • @ianweal3081

    Roothy, you are beginning to show your age mate, I suspect your knees flogged out from riding bikes of old utilising you knees as the suspension components, bit like mine, flogged out but I've still got em.
    Yes, I've always liked the Mahindras as an option, but holly heck, its replacement will become a huge seller.
    Whilst the ranger/ hilux rivery is currently being challenged by GWM, holly hell, once the mahindra global pikup hits our shores it will become no.1 if the prototypes appearing on the Webb are what actually goes into production.
    Until that happens, you'll need to keep promoting the current truck, and I'll keep watching.
    Take it to the end of the street mate, and keep going, irrespective of how much the knees ache, haha.

    The only people I know who drive Mahindras have had a fair amount of dramas with theirs.
    Ones a 2021 single cab Pickup that keeps throwing an engine light with DPF related warnings
    The other is a 2022 Duel cab Auto and at 7000km the whole engine blew up. which is now replaced under warranty.
    And if you jump on the Facebook page there are a heap of people who have small and unnecessary problems with their Pik Ups. it’s cool that the main components are made by branded companies like aisin and Bosch, but makes you wonder, why does these parts need to be outsourced? Is there a problem with Indian sourced products? Are they not as reliable?
    I like the idea of a cheap and simple no nonsense Ute but unfortunately I’ve lost my interest in the Mahindra utes. I would rather take my 40 thousand dollars and buy a second hand Hilux that’s been looked after. They have more going for them like reliability, access to service and parts, resale value, reputation, accessory availability, the list goes on.
