I am sure I would have been very happy with the Infinity Kappa as well.
To add to that, the factory Amp pushes 500 watts. 50 watts to each of the front door speakers, and 50 watts to each of the 2 tweeters, 100 watts to both of the back door speakers and 100 watts to the sub. All in all a decent factory Amp. I just purchased the same JBL GTO 939 6x9 speakers for all the doors and waiting to see how the tweeters will compare. So far, how are you liking the JBL tweeters? Excellent job i had t545 jbls 20 years ago that were stolen two pair 😢 i would love to have them back an never seen anymore again my cuzin had sum t95s but they didnt jam like mine❤
Both are owned by the same company. The infinity are geared more toward the sq market, that's the reason why it sounds a lot cleaner. The JBL sounds a bit more distorted and a bit harsh on the high end. Both are a great speaker, but you have to choose according to your listening taste.
I know this is old, the reason the JBL is louder is because it has a lower impedance than the Infinity. A 2 ohm load on an amp so long as it can handle it will produce more power. Example 100 watts per channel at 4 ohms and 200 watts per channel at 2 ohms. This can depend on your amp.
kappa's sound cleaner IMO. Problem is trying to judge off a recording, there's just to many variables like the head phones your using, the dac your using, if the mic has the ability to accurately pickup all frequencies, ect. Unless u have a sound both with crazy expensive mics
Mike the difference in the JBL vs infinity is this. Step back and look at them . The JBL has a smaller area even tho both 6x9 the woofer/mid and tweeter are larger on the infinity making sound more subtle. I think if more power applied the infinity would dominate. Idk
Just installed gx638 and it has no bass over the stock paper speakers. I then changed to gto939 and the same!! I have 90w rms going to it and the bass is gutless compared the the stock Toyota Prius speakers. I only have one speaker installed. Polarity is correct. What's wrong?
Those JBLs are a 2 Ohm speaker in the US market at least. I had to attenuate the tweeters on both my GX608C components and GC629 coaxials, which are a 2-way 6.5/6.75. If I were to do it over again I would have probably gone with the Infinity Kappas or References, but for $130 and $90 respectively, I saw it as better value for a 3 row crossover daily driver with only a factory head unit pushing MAYBE 35w per channel vs $400 for 2 pairs of Kappas or $600 for the Reference which honestly need more power and a cleaner signal. Even with the attenuation I have to tone down the treble and bass so they don't overpower the mids. On normal FM radio it sounds really good, but on CD you'd think you were in the studio.
you mentioned you have an F150. can you share your setup. Year and stock factory system you started with... just subbed... awesome channel.. shopping for a system after over 20yrs outta the game
Instead of holding both buttons in your hands just use one hand to press both buttons. As it looks like you can easily manipulate which speaker is working and looks very annoying when you have both thumbs on buttons. Good speaker comparison tho
Idk about you but i liked how the infinity sounded better. the jbl may have been louder but if you give the infinity some more power than you got a good pair of 6x9s.
Im just wondering that the ohms of the infinity is rated for a 2 ohm load. If you have your head unit radio set up for 4 ohms which the Jbl is. It is going to be louder. If you have both speaker hooked up in series then that also will make a difference. Your speaker wire also may cause a smaller resistance which 4 ohms is smaller than 2 ohms. Study your audiophile book or ask a professional who uses actual measuring equipment.
Any suggestions for affordable 6×9 subwoofers/speakers with really good bass. I have a stock stereo with 9 pioneer speakers and a stock 500w amp. And one of my rear dash 6x9 subs is rattling and I would like to just replace the both.

What sub did u pair with the kappas? I have 2 sets of 6.5 kappas but don’t want boomy overwhelming base just good full base
They have glass fiber cones not "plastic" as a matter in fact I don't think anyone uses straight up plastic lmao dude has no idea what he's spitting
Gto and Kappa are basically the same spkr
Only spkr I remember sounding better back in the late 80s early 90s was the Altec Lansing phase 2 3 way
Yes, sir!!!
haha I love that you said "my f150s gonna get jbl speakers now that was funny
Excellent job i had t545 jbls 20 years ago that were stolen two pair 😢 i would love to have them back an never seen anymore again my cuzin had sum t95s but they didnt jam like mine❤
How much power do u have running them ?? Stock head unit or amplifier
Next Pioneer TS-A6990F vs JBL GTO939 Premium , very interesting !!! Please bro : ))
Good match
I'm doing the jbl 6x9 in the back and pioneer 6.5 in the front, run by a pioneer 520w 4ch amp. Hoping it will scream.
Both are owned by the same company. The infinity are geared more toward the sq market, that's the reason why it sounds a lot cleaner. The JBL sounds a bit more distorted and a bit harsh on the high end. Both are a great speaker, but you have to choose according to your listening taste.
What is sq market?
SQ- Sound Quality
Idk
Where you get your test music from?? 14:15
Those are entry level Rockford fosgate. They make punch and power also
Would you put four of these inside of a Toyota Camry or should I get two of the 6x5
What is the best :
Pioneer ts 6900 pro
JBL gto 939
I don't need bass becaus i have subwoofer
Just installed gx638 and it has no bass over the stock paper speakers. I then changed to gto939 and the same!! I have 90w rms going to it and the bass is gutless compared the the stock Toyota Prius speakers. I only have one speaker installed. Polarity is correct. What's wrong?
Its probably the Sensitivity when its above 90+ its louder
3ohm
Are they amplified??
I have the gto and they sound horrible they might be bad from the start
Me gustan buena caridad y buen bajeo esta buenisimo vi tutoriales y comparación y infinity kappa.es el mejor pero lástima no hay en Perú 😢
were you feeding these the full 100 watts? dont think i heard it mentioned
Where are the links to the music so we can hear the real sound
you mentioned you have an F150. can you share your setup. Year and stock factory system you started with... just subbed... awesome channel.. shopping for a system after over 20yrs outta the game
Hey bro welcome to real life )
here is my set up was on my F150
th-cam.com/video/NKYie2dp5zc/w-d-xo.html
Instead of holding both buttons in your hands just use one hand to press both buttons. As it looks like you can easily manipulate which speaker is working and looks very annoying when you have both thumbs on buttons. Good speaker comparison tho
Bro JBL its incredible !!!!!!!!!!
Idk about you but i liked how the infinity sounded better. the jbl may have been louder but if you give the infinity some more power than you got a good pair of 6x9s.
Just bought and installed alpine 6.5 type s speakers. Literally horrified by the sound quality. I’m so pissed
Did you break the speakers in before your test? I usually play pink noise for about 40+ hours at 80 db to break mine in.
Good point ty for that bro
A better microphone would be appreciated
Hey, would you rather pick RoFo, Alpine or JBL 6x9?
Excursion is the word you were looking for brother. The excursion is how much the cone will travel.
If I want to install this kappa 6x9, what 6x5 do U guys recommend to make a perfect match?
I think its safe to say the tweeter button to the kappa is broken.
What amp do I use ( I ordered 4 of the kappas )
d4.800. What did you pick?
@@Frindleeguy I bought a rockford Fosgate punch. It slaps pretty hard
@@edwardallen2696 Can never go wrong with Rockford! Those Kappas came alive huh? WIthout an amp they don't even activate.
@@Frindleeguy yeah before my stock speakers were drowned out by my two 12s, and now full blast you can hear the music clearly with plenty of bass.
The profile on the jbl is superior
Now both vs sundown 6x9 😳
Im just wondering that the ohms of the infinity is rated for a 2 ohm load. If you have your head unit radio set up for 4 ohms which the Jbl is. It is going to be louder. If you have both speaker hooked up in series then that also will make a difference. Your speaker wire also may cause a smaller resistance which 4 ohms is smaller than 2 ohms. Study your audiophile book or ask a professional who uses actual measuring equipment.
2 ohm is lower than 4 Ohm. The two ohm speaker will potentially get twice as much power as the 4ohm speaker.
Any suggestions for affordable 6×9 subwoofers/speakers with really good bass. I have a stock stereo with 9 pioneer speakers and a stock 500w amp. And one of my rear dash 6x9 subs is rattling and I would like to just replace the both.
That JBL is the real deal.
Which Amp would work well witt this JBL GTO speaker? Or is it not necessary to use... Thanks!
An amp would not be "necessary", though recommended if you want to get the most of these speakers
Rockford Fosgate P1694 vs jbl gto 639
