Super Stoked to see this video. You went in such depth. Good thing we have a bunch of these at B2AudioUSA would love to see a few of these put in a box.
serusly. i would of never to thought to do that. my object was to try it. hear it sucked. just left it as a nauvalty item. if it was cheap and i got plenty. push it to it pops for shiggles.
Luved Big D's introduction to this mini B2 sub, so glad that barevids did one. Although, I always go away from watching most of his videos feeling a bit stupid, lol. I know the science & math to a point but am not an electrical engineer or technician... not good with Trigonometry or Calculous now at 47, have forgotten more than I remember with such things. Thanks, barevids, another great video!
No need to thank me for watching, thank you for putting out this content ! Its been a while, looking forward to S2 also, i'd be keen as mustard to see you try and use a few of these in a car, could make for quite a neat mini series ;)
I'm so glad to hear boom or bust is coming back, one of my favorite audio seasons! Man I really wish that little 2" could do what it does on the slowed footage, I'd have a few in my office 😂
boom or bust is one of the coolest bits of audio tech stuff on youtube. My only suggestion is more onscreen images of the math and numbers being simulated. I love it mate.
Lets see if we can get this youtuber to buy 100 of them and put them in a cabinet? That would be the best audio video ever! Join in everybody? Who wants to see that happen?
🫡 you as well sir, thanks for obliging and testing out this awesome little driver! I would love to see a scaled down build with like 4 or 6 of them walled off 4th or 6th order I just think it'd be awesome to see all those little cones dancing away lol
I put a 3.5 peerless full range in a red solo cup to find best placement for a car. People that heard it were impressed. When I doubled the cup, performance dropped. Flex in box sounded best filled with poly. The headphone affect was best with speaker facing forward tilted in a bit behind your ear. Not winning any competitions because of sound stage but gives you great immersive feeling. Head rest speakers are highly under rated IMO
That was sick man, Thanks for doing the video so that we can have a good understanding of that 2" driver. Would love to see some beefy 4" subs from them that could actually be used in like a bluetooth speaker or such
Pumped for season 2, i was so invested in that series hahaha. Been 3d printing enclosures for about 5 years now haha. Got a bunch of odd horn designs and just started modelling the Paraflex designs too might have to enter one if they come in under the size limit!
Oh man, that is a name of excellence indeed. Clean sub drivers but he got screwed over by the manufacturer on his second production run. I have a brand new, Maelstrom X2 21" in a box ready for a project, and dual 1200W Class AB monoblocks with 1200 damping factor and gold plated PCBs, custom Avel Lindberg 1200VA toroidals with oversized (1400va) cores like Krell does to prevent saturation lol. Been sitting around for years, now have a good 3d printer so can actually build the mold for the enclosure, it'll be a scaled up B&W nautlius snail design.
@@N4CR Dan patented every angle and what it took a certain auto-audio manufactuers years and still didn't get it right he did by himself in like 18 months... he only produced what was cost effective to him.
When I made the suggestion I personally was just thinking about moving more air, didn't realise it actually plays less loud than the "subwoofer" that you've already been using. maybe would be good for a subwoofer "rivalry" different boxes vs each other. just so that if say, someone wanted to test for the 6.5 subwoofers best enclosure it could be tested on the micro scale instead of trying to find some resources online, potentially pulling in more viewers with you already insane videos, I'm a total bass head and enjoy your content, Keep it up man.
I think that product is awesome! It's really just meanr for scale appearance, while providing real functionality. But it actually doesn't do badly incomparison to that little Peerless. Not to mention, the narrator didn't mention the coil getting too hot, just mechanical rubbing.
I have two of these and I have built 3 boxes so far 2 ported and a sealed. they sound terrible in a ported box but not to terrible in a sealed box. Also, they say 10w but I have been running them off a 100w per channel Dayton amp and they take it all in the sealed box and haven't blown, I didn't clamp them or anything though... They sure look cool in the little acrylic boxes I built though. Add, His box looks the same size as mine but I have two of them in it.
ZOMG senpai noticed me. More unsolicited suggestions: A quarter wave paradox box A demonstration of how port length, packing materials, port velocities, port flow coupling/decoupling, etc effect performance including wave form distortions. Hexibase has touched on modeling box volume and ports electrically (capacitance/inductance). But a deeper dive would be helpful. I’ve yet to see anyone really dig into the maths and considerations of infinite baffle on YT. There’s a whole series of possible videos there.
Definitely something wrong with the Algorithm. I been subscribed for years and your videos hardly ever pop up. One of my favorite channels. I loved the video of your system in your car
You know I just realized that you are the amp repair guy. I hadn't seen any amp videos from you in a while and thought this channel was dead. I've been a subscriber for many years now and don't know why it didn't click to who you were ,maybe because you're not in your shop. Anyways ,greeting from the states and keep up the excellent work. BTW this build a box series is top notch.
Great I’ve been hoping you would try it out. I watched Big D review it.Also I would like to see Hexibase play with this. He is a wizard at getting lower frequencies from smaller drivers. But there are limits that can’t be overcome no matter what.
Interesting concept of scaling buy increasing the frequencies and speaker parameters. Try make the 6.5inch driver box and place it in a van to see how close you were. That would be interesting. But the van panels will absorb a lot of the energy, you should put some flex in the model or build a full size braced mockup of the model to be comparable.
Salute to you too your channel should be way bigger then it is cause of the knowledge and experience and passion for car audio I love car audio and the thought ot destroying a vehicle with a sub or subwoofers keep it up and have a personal? Have you ever thought of moving to the states or visiting enough for you being around us crazy Americans lol
It’s for 1/10 scale RC. So that puts it close to a 20in woofer in real life. However not all RC is built the same so it’s a good choice for a thumper tho.
Thanks, I been waiting for you to get your hands on one of these. Any luck on getting a woofer out of an old laptop? HP used to do a Beats by Dre laptop, I have the one before that which has the little sub too. I think that could make boom or bust series two easier to build for.
I'd really like to see what something like this would do in a series/parallel configuration. With the extra cone surface should provide a much lower Q than a single driver by it's lonesome.
Yooo you should try doing a wall on the peerless drivers in next season, like a proper 6th order using like 6 drivers or even experiment with some horn walls, 4th order etc, i would be interested to see the results
I love these experiment videos, do you have any ideas for maybe finding the "best" midrange driver for a 3 way front stage? I would be using it to fill in above what a pair of 8" drivers playing down to 70hz up to probably 170hz. Have plenty of power but still just trying to find an inexpensive driver or two for mids. Fully active DSP controlled as well.

Barevids, this was a fantastic video! when I saw another youtube channel post this, I was hoping you would make a video on it! I have a side question! I have been a viewer for the past 15 years or so from the room videos, to when you got the two 12" pioneers in your yellow renault! I have brought a bose soundbar with a subwoofer, I am massively into my sound but not the most knowledgable on the subject! I wanted to ask, is there a easy way or test to find out where best to put the subwoofer for the soundbar to get the most from it? in terms of loudness etc?
Put the subwoofer in your wheelchair where you will be listening to it, play a low frequency sine wave and crawl around the room to see where it's loudest, then swap you with the sub 😁
BAREVIDS man, Id love it if I could get the box design you used for the dual Pioneer ts-w3004spl vid from a whole buncha years back, Dont know if you still have em but would really appreciate it lol.

maybe make a v2 with more bandwidth. I would actually buy it then.
It would be nice for you to build a 4 inch sub.
We would love to see 30 of these in a center console build.
A line array with 40 of these would be something.
Cute lil thing!
That's what she said and the when it gets mad she said OMG 😋

Great explanation of resonant frequencies and the limitations some drivers have comfortably working outside of it.
Hyped for season 2!🔥🔥🔥
These videos are so underrated
The explanation with the pendulum was truly amazing! You sure are a good teacher
It only got better 😂 . Where did you gain all this knowledge?
