We like them because they were an American brand ( pioneer) their circuits are built to take a thrashing and once they cool off they are back clear , not so with infinity or other higher quality speaker

Speaker placement is important, a good quality amp, don't go less then 14 awg, RMS is important but so is SQl, car acoustics, proper tuning. On the end of the day, invest in good quality component speakers and build up from there. From experience and blowing speakers + amps , it's better to have a good front set-up without a sub. Then a cheaper setup with a sub. Just my opinion 🤔
Hey yo question. So mid range speakers would mainly be for front doors? And sub speakers are more for the back? Looking for a couple loud 6x9 for the truck. I'm green. Just looking for some knowledge
@nicholasgilson1412 I have 2 third gen tacomas and I did kicker cs on one amd pioneer on the other. They both sound really good. And i got a few options for bass since I have 3 different boxes.
I'm about to put the rockville 6x9s in my rear deck. Acura TSX amp already filters out to the 6x9 only bass frequency but I'll also have to amplify them more for full potential. I have 6.5 inch pioneer 3-way and 4-way in all doors we will see how it goes, hopefully it will shake. I am hoping the trunk is airtight enough to act as a big box for the subs or I'll have to make enclosure for them
How did this go? I have recently replaced the stock Navi unit in my TSX and installed a Kenwood 150x2 d class in my trunk powering the old stock 6x9's. I wish they had a little more low end kick.

I bought some Boss Onyx 6x9’s last week, supposedly 400 RMS each, even the Amazon reviews had 20-30 ppl talking about how good they were. Plus, they were only $45 for 2 of them, but yeah, been looking at these Rockville’s for a while now. Gonna go ahead & have the full Rockville setup now, I guess. Got 2 5800W 2 ohm Punishers, each wired up to their own separate Rockville RXM-T2 amps, bridged @ 4 ohms. Only thing that won’t be Rockville now is the amp I have pushing the 6x9s (Rockford Fosgate PRIME R500X1D) I gotta say, I was stressing, thinking I would blow these Punishers in just a couple days, but to my surprise, haven’t smelled them or anything & got the amps both wide open. Williston audio labs got a vid showing that they get appx 1550W RMS & the Punishers are only rated for 1400 RMS each. I mean, I feel like it’s beating the block down for 2800 RMS.
