Hey man great video! Im curious Im looking at trying to get a shotgun by Taran Tactical from JW4 and it is an NFA item with it being a shotgun with a 10.5 inch barrel. Do shotguns fall under the same as a SBR and do you think a C&R license would work for this? Just trying to figure it out
I have my CR and have an SBR in Illinois legally from 2022. For those saying leave Illinois I suggest you stop running and defend your rights here. Stop running this literally why Chicago gets to be the bulk of the voting power when you leave the state
There are much better reasons to leave Illinois. Illinoians have allowed their state and local governments to rip them off for years. Super high taxes and it definitely isn’t providing better results for the people. I can’t wait to get out.
It may seem like a unwindable fight to try and make Illinois better/apart of a More Perfect Union but, at the end of the day we’re Americans and should stand up for our Rights/Values/Freedoms and Liberties in ALL 50 states - then there’s always “FuCk IlLiNoIs/ThE eNtiRe USA, We nEeD tO dIsOlVe ThE uNiOn” No! We need too come together as Americans - t o g e t h e r - and fight too protect our American values, which, are backed up by God its “We The People” NOT “We The Government,” the 2nd Amendment reads: “The Right Of The People To Keep and Bear Arms Shall Not Be Infringed” what part of “Infringed” doesn’t our government get? They scream, yell, and wine all about “the evil ownership of assault weapons” while being protected by assault weapons themselves!?! That is the very definition of hypocrisy. I say too ALL people of Illinois We shouldn’t let our fellow Americans who live in sister states tell us that We should “give up and leave the land of annoyance, corruption, high taxes, crime and misery” yes those are valid reasons too leave Illinois… but I digress - the point I’m making here is Illinois is our home and yes it’s a crack house, but, with enough love and hard work, not too mention “m o n e y” it can be a crack home - (check out AngryCop’s Crack House Series if you have the time, it’s good) - - another example would be the former sad turned outstanding Christmas tree in the classic Charlie Brown Christmas special which in a way represents our state’s inclusion in the rustbelt (being that it may seem like there’s nothing left to make better, but there always will be if We The People step up to the plate and strive for a better country despite what happened in the past when American industry left). All I’m saying is what’s too say if 1 day our American values that are enshrined in the U.S. Constitution are just ignored by our government and slowly through 100 years anti 2nd Amendment policies swept the nation and now our government can do whatever it wants - all thanks too the slow erosion of the American people’s beliefs thinking that they have no power in standing up for their Rights, Freedoms, and Liberties which We Do have the power dammit - being that we do have the power - We The People are responsible for keeping our country going and it’s We The People that have the power and the responsibility too guard our rights/American values that are enshrined in the U.S. Constitution. As Dave Chappelle once said “The first Amendment is for a reason. Second Amendment is just incase the first one doesn’t work out.”
I have a C&R license and will try to buy another SBR in the future, once I have the funds. But the meantime I am going to simply try to buy some more standard (not " high-capacity") 30rd magazines with my C&R and see how that goes first as a simple test.
I know 3 Illinois people that were denied on their free form 1 tax stamps(purchased ar pistols, not built). Also, I believe the only denied tro was the Naperville "assault weapon sales ban" which was a new city ordinance, my ffl guy told me this.
If you purchase a firearm of any kind from an out of state private seller and dont use a FFL to facilitate the transfer, that is a violation of federal law.
How does this work if you already bought an AR pistol, which the ATF now classifies as an SBR? EDIT: Just rewatched, converting an pistol to an SBR is considered buying?
As an update, I submitted my eform as a paid individual form 1 on 2/17 with EFT fingerprints. I received it back on 3/14 disapproved with the reason cited being the Blair Holt Cook County AWB. I live in Cook county but not Chicago.
Thank you for your update. The Blair Holt Assault Weapon ban only applies to unincorporated areas of cook county, and not cook county as a whole. I personally know numerous people who have SBR's (approved before the IL AWB passed), but they live in incorporated areas. What do I mean about unincorporated and incorporated? If you call 911 and the sheriffs arrive, that is unincorporated. However if you call 911 and get the local police, that is incorporated. Not really. Some are. Some aren't. It is very complex. I discuss it in the video. I go into much more detail about the rifle ban here: www.alphakoncepts.com/blog/illinois-assault-weapon-ban-explained/
So you’re saying Illinois is breaking federal law by requiring you to buy your rights back. Cool. Just making sure we aren’t misunderstanding anything.
Federal law breaks federal law by requiring us to buy our rights back. The entire NFA is a pay-to-play scheme, which is wholly unconstitutional, but prior generations didn't challenge it for some reason. The only thing Illinois adds to the mix is an extra $30 for the C&R ontop of the federal requirements. And, Illinois doesn't see a cent of that money, BTW.

@cvillefarmer I have faith that SBRs will still get approved. I have 6 more to SBR, so I hope.

There is a hearing scheduled for Friday on the matter. This means we could possibly have a preliminary injunction as early as the first week of March.
