Wow. That weed sprayer would be heaven if it worked and kept on working!! I love how that cotton picker uses the back wheels to turn with. Looked like it was cleanly picking a lot of cotton. But a million bucks?!
Worked at Des Moines Works when the Pro series picking units were developed in the 90's and was instrumental in finding suppliers to make a number of those parts. Always interesting to see the evolution since then.
Maybe you can get your dad to sit in one of those tractors next year, tell him they're doing a giveaway. Million plus for the cotton picker, you'd have to live in it and pick nonstop year round to make it pay for itself. Great video.
Even though it's green I was taking a liking to it with all the bells and whistles until he said just over a million. I finally caught my breath also and was able to respond. Got to admit that was a bad butt sprayer. That is some uptown technology. I can see the savings in chemicals. Great video and take care.
You always here nothing runs like a Deere but did you know that was the slogan for John Deere snowmobile not the tractors lol just thought I’d tell ya but it is a true statement for all jd products stay safe my friend and keep it in the field rows
I thought I saw me getting off the sprayer while you were filming. That’s an awesome machine, but I wouldn’t want to explain the controls to a new hire operator.
My hearing must not be what it used to be. Could’ve sworn I heard him say just over a million dollars. Anywho. Wasn’t it depressing what little bit of equipment John Deere had at their tent?! Two 8R’s, some smaller tractors, and a sprayer. Oh well, I was glad to be going back! Sure missed it last year!
I was at the Sunbelt Ag Expo last week in Moultrie. My daughter and me went on Wednesday. If I had known I would have liked to met you and your dad and Jeff. Anyway that cotton picker is awesome. I remember when I first saw a John Deere 7760 back in 2011 and my dad said they had been out a few years at that time and I was surprised to see how it could bale a module while picking. That is a game changer but I’m sure y’all are good with the 9996 and the associated equipment.
@@FieldRows oh ok then dang I missed y’all! Well if I ever come through where y’all farm I may stop by. I think I have passed by it before near Malone.
Nice videos! Just wondering have you compared cost per acre of your current set up with the Cotton Picker, Bowl Buggy, Modual Builder, plus tractors and staff vs a Used self bailing cotton picker? Having this same conversation with a friend of mine here NC as to if it makes sense. Gotta think parts for that older equipment will keep getting harder to find. Your operations reminds me of my family farm I grew up on.
I would be curious what the expected acres per year that machine could handle for the average farmer because obviously it's not gonna be running 24/7... then the expected dollars per acre for the crop after costs and to know how many years it would take to pay itself off lol.... idk I do like the idea of a bailer way better so you dont have to pay for transport you can save money and haul it yourself
Well if you could run 6 days a week and average 110 acres in 10-15 hour days you’d be looking at almost 8,600 acres in 3 months. But most cotton fields ain’t perfect and you’re more likely gonna average 65-80 acres and average 5 days a week cause of weather so that’s around 4,200-5,200 in 3 months. I’ve picked 2,400 and turned around and repicked another 400 in a little over 2 and.half months before with a 7760 at 3.8 mph in a good dry weather year but had many breakdowns due to machine age and wear. It really depends on weather, this year most folks started picking in early to mid October rather than early September so if November and December are wet it could easily be a mid to late January finish for cotton harvest with that 11 acres an hour being closer to 6-7 acres an hour.
Great stuff Jim, that video was over way too soon. ‘Just over a million dollars’ yikes! that’s a lot of cotton to be picked before that pays for itself.
That spray sense sounds awesome till he said only on fallow fields and most the time we spray burn down there’s usually a residual herbicide in the tank which needs 100% ground coverage so I don’t see it saving any money in the long run would be awesome if the can get it to work in standing crops that’s where the true savings that system would help in!
I'm curious what kind of warranty they give you on a 1,000,000.00 cotton picker. When you buy a new car it covers everything except tires I believe. I'm sure it's a little different because there is probably parts that need replacement every year. And I'm also wondering if John Deere sends someone out to train you on operation of machine.
What did you dad say about the round baler? Or did he refuse to get close to it like the tractor? 😂 “just over a million dollars” holy 💩. But, it does replace a lot of equipment in the cotton field & you pretty much just have to be conscious while it works. Randy could run it
The way they had parking this year at the Expo was stupid. I can park myself and I don’t need minders to tell me. Decent show this year but a bit small.
Yeah it was smaller than the 2019 show. I think it may be back to what it was the last few years next year. I was glad to be able to attend this year with my oldest daughter.
Jim you guy's need that new cotton picker and that new sprayer just plant more cotton the sprayer will pay for it self if it helps sway your decision I'll donate $100.00 and Randy donates the rest awesome vids keep them coming big time follower TKS
because it rains and? there is often dew on a windshield many mornings! Realize you usually cant pick in the rain But getting from one field the next, or getting home in the rain is crucial!
It was great to meet y'all at the expo
Man I was just there with my BFF Hank from Hamiltonville Farm. Wish I could have met you. God bless.
I was ready to see the new CP 770 in a demo! Got my wish!
Unbelievable sprayer !
Yes sir! Glad to see some awesome pickers!! All the best from out West
A beast of a picker.
Moultrie native watching from Macon GA!
Your were about 45 minutes from my house. Expo is definitely a sight to see.
never imagined id run into you watching this cotton picker but it sure was awesome getting to! hope you enjoyed the expo!
Much Love as Always!!
Great John Deere equipment! Mike from Missouri

Nice video Jim. Man get us a roller picker!
Really cool seeing the new technology, as always great video

They didn't tell us the cost of the sprayer? only the cotton picker.
jacobbatten21 thats my snap ill show you it runnin on our farm
That thing is so dang pretty. You guys going to get one. Would be a big upgrade for sure. Love the video as always.
I’d love to, but are 9996 is paid for. It’s so nice!!!!
Love a video on the compactor workings
Excellent video
Oh Deere, that's a lots of cotton to pick to pay for that beast! Welcome to Jawjah! I almost was there & would of loved to meet ya'll! Blessings!
would of
Like they say," Nuthin like rollin your own" Many thanks fella's. 👍👍'sup.

That is the fact of the original use of that slogen!
Cool machine, big bales!!!!
I bet Randy would be a blast at the Expo!! May get a little serious though with his clumsiness. 😁😁😁
Randy went and got some great footage unfortunately he only captured video and no audio. He’ll be posting a tiktok soon

My dad built the very first functioning cotton round bailer with his crew for the man that designed it
Shes a beaut clark

11ac an hour…. I’m in love
I love my 8220
Sweet Tractor!!
Dang she's fast.
Gotta love them leather seats and wonderful technology. Makes you kinda forget how deep in debt you are. For a moment.
Yes! That would be nice! Not the debt though
Should have had Randy in the cotton picker with the salesmen. Watching the videos from Canada
Awesome!!
The pickers cab is so nice and I’d love to own one but that’s way too expensive
💪💪
I’ll stick to my 7760 and stay in business 😂😂😂😂😂

@@TheEnginneeringFarmer informative 👍
This one your in is a picker / baler right. If its baling it is making some huge bales. What do they weigh. They gotta be pretty darn heavy
The just over a million dollars face/hyperventilate had me dying!!
At least they give you a free hat
Great stuff Jim, that video was over way too soon. ‘Just over a million dollars’ yikes! that’s a lot of cotton to be picked before that pays for itself.
It probably never pay for itself. The break downs will break the bank.
Hello, good time. How many tons of cotton do you harvest per hectare?
You should see if you can get a discount if you buy 2? Nice machine!
omg i was there
Million bucks for a machine and they can’t pay their employees better. Wth Deere!
Can you use it to harvest other crops or is it just cotton?
Cotton that’s it

For sure!
Your Father is realistic! You do not waste your time or mental capacity on Anything that is not in your short term future.
Saw a video of it. A guy just bought that picker and is having tons of issues
You definitely "NEED" one of those beasts - TH-cam will pay for it for sure eh lol - cheers
Lance help spread the word so each of my videos gets over million views then I can buy one!!!
@@FieldRows You got it !!!
Roger is my dad’s cousin.
That cotton picker sure picks clean. There's NOTHING on the ground after it passes...
I thought it was actually leaving a lot on the bush

Where can I find a dealer to sale this model?
Bet that 1200 gallon tank doesn’t last long on a 120 foot boom
Price?
Dang I missed you there 😂. What day were y’all there?
Wednesday
More green machines than green backs in the pockets of most farmers
JESUS LOVES YOU!
It looks like it still looses the same amount of cotton as the older models its just faster
Why is their cotton still left on the stock…….?????
Don’t tell your daddy about the price lol
Man I thought you had bought one lol 😂
I wish!!!
Man I’m disappointed you didn’t show any Kubota stuff. They never get any credit on TH-cam.
Part 2 coming soon, but no Kubota
Takes a lot of cotton to make a million dollars!
yes over a !600 million ounces!
Educate a yankee from Minnesota but what is the price of cotton? What would that 96 inch cotton ball bring in moneywise?
Check Laura Farms, she/they got to demo an 8RX.
It takes $80,000 worth of hydraulic oil just to fill all of the hoses on that 770 cotton picker.
I’m gonna have to google that
Maybe you can use cotton seed oil.

I like your thinking Brad!!!
No way it cost close to a million to build, maybe 650
A Snicker’s bar doesn’t cost a $1.25 to make either but you don’t see them for sale for 30 cents either.
Why do you need a windshield wiper on a cotton picker ?
because it rains and? there is often dew on a windshield many mornings! Realize you usually cant pick in the rain But getting from one field the next, or getting home in the rain is crucial!
John deer made in China 🇨🇳
In the good ol' days we would hire black people, way more price efficient and they are still working pretty fast.
