Those exhausts that you love so much (and sound so incredible!) are track-only non-"Euro 4" spec. The Akrapovič slip-on (as opposed to the full system that you have mounted on that bike) are ok in the EU and still sound pretty damn good. And, you can carry a passenger or mount the saddlebags if you want. ... Don't get me wrong, the full system sounds great, but based on my experience, you'll get pulled over in Alps for riding with it.
I would love to ride the Alps, with or without the exhaust. Here in South Africa we dodge taxis and that system helps to make them aware of your presence. Thanks for the insightful feedback.
What does it mean sensible about motorcycles? If you look for something absolutely sensible you buy a scooter, not a motorcycle. This bike is just good for everything, but even if it wasn't, it would be anyway a great bike as it's emotional. Motorcycle has to be emotional, that's why Japanese are doing it wrong and other brands like Ducati are doing it well.
I agree with your sentiments, and the comment was meant to be tongue-in-cheek. I did say "but their racing pedigree and Italian flair always got in the way". In very much the same way as you almost expect a Lamborghini car to be mad and bonkers. I also concluded that this is a bike you buy with your heart (emotion). The fact that this bike stirs your emotions, but on top of that looks good, and can be ridden everyday, does make it sensible.
Wow the end of this video and a bike going away the sound is just awesome. thx.
Anywhere I go is my track. I don"t care what they do in the Alps. I love this bike! Thanks MCC.

@iboy you should not forget, that EU is very small part of the world. Less then 10%+-

I don't think you can fit the panniers with that twin can Akra fitted
I doubt that very much too. I just think that someone who fits the Akrapovic pipes will most probably go to the track, rather than on tour.
its a hundred times more comy than 959!
yawn... all talk
