They may look cool, but there’s a lot of physical work involved in maintaining their operation ability. They are noisy and dirty. If you can accept the bumps and noise and bruises and heavy lifting, you’re good to go. I was the captain of a tank company in the late 50s and early 60s. We loved our tanks and we loved our comrades. All flag-waving and glory.

@ oops. Patton M48. 90mm gun. My mistake. I would think after several years in the tank corp in an M48 I would’ve caught my mistake. But I’m going to be 90 in a couple of months so memories fade, and things get mixed up occasionally.

Hold up, There is zero debate on the best tanks of WW2, the German panzer and Tiger were far superior tanks the Sherman. 1 Tiger could take 5-10 + Sherman that were small and under armored. The only thing the Sherman was gas efficiency

If you’re the driver, you don’t wanna go too fast unless you wanna get wet or make sure you have the hatch closed. It’s also a good way to clean all the mud & dirt off the tank tracks, etc..
