    Termignoni’s dyno tests show a peak improvement of around 4.5hp and 4 lb-ft with some amount of increase throughout the powerband (not just peak). I can honestly feel an improvement in engine response and acceleration while riding.

      Did you need to remap ecu or do u feel like the bike needs it? About to order this exhaust Termignoni has a upmap tool available was just wondering before I spent $300 on this upmap tool. Thx

      My guess is that's without any electronic map adjustments. I'm sure stock restrictions could yield a good bit more. Probably Brentuning would offer some high quality maps.

      Lifted_Above thanks for the reply been running the bike with dB killer in and bike seems to be running fine. Without dB killer bike runs a little rough. I’ll look into the brentuning or the Termignoni tuner later.

    • @exothermal.sprocket
      @exothermal.sprocket 4 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@mechcam796 Yeah there's not enough flow restriction without the DB insert to create smooth idle. Brentune talks about that on some of the modification pages.

    I went with the Ducati Akrapovic twin pipe option. Full header, cat delete, and CPU upgrade. Did it when I bought the Supersport S. Really enjoy the sound of the pipes with the silencer in, but with the silencer removed, it was way too loud. So, put the silencers back in. I will have to check the meter values, to see what the "quiet " version makes. I still have to be nice when leaving and arriving my home area. The heat difference is quite noticeable. The only time it is bad is when stopped for long periods at a light, but then cools down when you move again. Great Video.

      Thank you! Unfortunately a video can’t really show the true sound difference - my microphone probably isn’t good enough and one has to also listen with proper headphones or speakers because it’s the deep bass tones that make the majority of the difference between that Termi and stock.

  • @rlsedition
    @rlsedition 4 ปีที่แล้ว +3

    I see this differently. I don't like the weight of the stock exhaust, but I also don't like the look of the Termi system. The Ducati designers aren't stupid and that twin outlet muffler setup looks much better to my eyes than the low-mount Termi muffler. I do think Ducati should have extended the fairing lower rearward to cover the cat on both sides.

    • @ssmith954

      I actually like the look of the Termi system, prefer it to the Akra full system with the twin pipes below the seat too.
      Agree on the fairing, and was really pleased the new 950 has adjusted the fairing on the belly. Looks more natural than the void on the 939.

      Debenham Dave my garage is similar to yours. I’ve got a 2010 696 with an Akra full system that I love (but feels a bit slow now, haha), and my Supersport. I left in the baffle when I installed my Termi, but have purchased a power commander 5 to go with it. I have noticed no change in fuel economy and little difference in butt horsepower. Will report back once the power commander is installed. 4 hp might not be that noticeable but I did notice the weight savings of the Termi slip on over the stock system. The Healtech servo eliminator was a life saver too. Ducati knocked it out of the park with the Supersport.

    Hi IL MOSTRO, I've got two questions for you: I really love the end bar mirrors you put on the bike, where did you get them? did it was hard to mount them? how did you cover the holes of the original mirrors? I suppose you don't have actually front indicators lights...
    Thank you!

    • @ilmostro16
      @ilmostro16  6 ปีที่แล้ว

      Check out my other video where I show the mirror install and new front NRC turn signals. The mirrors are 2” CRG Blindsight mirrors. They take getting used to since they are so small. I left the stock mirror holes, doesn’t look so bad and better than the ugly black squares from NRC, even after I painted them red. You’ll need to get a bar end mirror adapter for the throttle side. I used a shop lathe to modify one to keep the stock bar end weight but that’s complicated.

    Impressive! Can you provide the info on the spools for rear wheels ?

  • @randykawasaki
    @randykawasaki 5 ปีที่แล้ว

    Nice, but main problem with OE zorst is proximity of header to rear shock, high temp does compromise shock performance. Not sure if this changes that. How many kilos saved?

    • @ilmostro16
      @ilmostro16  5 ปีที่แล้ว

      randykawasaki I think you can’t know if the heat in this case is compromising shock performance without testing. There is a heat shield between the shock and header. The header is in the same place. As far as weight goes, it shaved about 13 pounds I think.

  • @russellbaskin6880

    Great video watched it 5 times wondering if it voids warranty.? Can you do this yourself? Any other mods needed to use this system? jetting,electronics, air filter

    • @ilmostro16
      @ilmostro16  5 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Jetting? That’s like old school carburetor stuff haha. Nah there’s nothing that needs doing besides a servo buddy to plug the flapper servo harness into to prevent error codes/lights on the dash. The removal of the catalytic converter removes the flapper valve so the computer will think something is wrong. The servo buddy sends the signal back to the dash to fool it that the flapper servo is still there.
      As far as warranty being voided... well technically it can be but should only matter if you have engine problems. If your gas tank sensor gauge needs replacing or the fork seal leaks, that stuff has nothing to do with the exhaust and shouldn’t be affected by the warranty unless your dealer is a dick (my dealer Team MCC is awesome). But if you blow your engine and it’s got an aftermarket exhaust, it’s possible you’d have trouble. This is a very rare situation though so we all take chances.

    • @ilmostro16

      It does not reduce clearance because of the angle on the muffler itself. It has a sort of triangular shape to the tube. Don’t worry, unless you’re dragging elbow on the track you won’t have an issue.

      Fabio Marotta No, it runs great with the stock map, even better now. But Termi is supposedly working on a new fuel map to be used with this exhaust system and hopefully will release this year sometime. Probably will have an additional cost for that, but the exhaust is so well priced, I don’t mind and will likely update to that map once it’s available. Or I might just wait until my warranty is up first to be safe.

    • @ilmostro16

      Patricia Richardson Just Googled this, looks like 3 bikes in the whole world had this issue so far, but to be safe Ducati will start a recall to move the overflow hose in August 2018. What I read stated it was the fuel overflow, not the fuel line. I'm not worried about it, since it's a fraction of a tiny percentage of all the bikes sold. But I'll have the dealer do the recall once I get the letter.

    • @ilmostro16

      James Butterfield No exhaust will make the twin sound like a MotoGP bike because of the lower maximum RPMs. In other words, we can’t rev our engines high enough to get that sound.
      I debated very much between the Termi and CW, and ultimately the Termi won for me because of the price and since the Termi can is more unique (fits only the SS) while the CW is the same looking can they sell for all bikes.

    I got the full akro when I purchased my SSS new 7 months ago. Cost an arm and a leg and saw no improvements on the dyno (I'm actually showing less than what's on paper stock), and after 7 months I'm STILL waiting for the rest pegs which for around that exhaust from Ducati. Also those tail pipes are hot as hell on even slightly warm days.
    When did this exhaust come out?

    • @ilmostro16
      @ilmostro16  6 ปีที่แล้ว

      Termi released it around May I think. I’m very happy with it. Don’t look for power gains with an exhaust, that requires a tune. Getting an aftermarket exhaust is for sound and looks. If there are modest gains, it’s a bonus.

    • @duc9395
      @duc9395 6 ปีที่แล้ว

      IL MOSTRO I got a tune after installing a rapid bike evo. Again not a 1% gain. Needless to say I wasn’t overly impressed.
      The Akra looks good in my opinion and sounds great, particularly with no baffles in. The fact that it makes makes you lose 10kg of sweat on a warm day isn't so practical, also you need to remove one side to get in and adjust the rear preload if carrying a pillion, not that I can as I have no rear pegs ha! So I'm a little jealous.
      Ducati recalled this bike to install a modified heat shield over the rear header when it was first released, they realized the revised shield did not fit for the akra. As a result to this day people with the Sax rear shock and akra exhaust are having their rear bump stop MELT! I'm assuming you have the beefy shield still with the yellow insulation behind a black shell?
      Lucky for me I have the Ohlins so no melting yet but the rear shock gets so hot you can't touch it just after letting the bike idle for a few moments.
      It's a bit of a troubled area but otherwise a damn comfy 'sports' bike.

    so ive listened to many videos of the SS with a Termi... honestly my monster 937 with racing Termi (no cat) and remap sounds way, way cooler than this. Pops and bangs all the time when shifting, popcorn while decelerating and has much more bass. I cant get why its so much different and why Termignoni didnt do a better job for this bike?! And I apologize for sayng all this but this mufler doesnt look like a Termi and more like some japanese exhaust. (I know its original) Sorry for being an asshole. Your bike is great and I might consider a streefighter V2 for my next bike or if they release a lighter version of the SS without the trelis frame.

      Not sure, never heard one of those. But do remember this is recorded with an iPhone, not professional sound equipment. In real life it sounds amazing because there’s a deep rumble and bass that most inline 4’s and smaller engines don’t have. That bass and rumble is hard to get across in videos. Also depends on what speakers you’re using to listen to this obviously.

      @@ilmostro16 Try using a Sony action cam to record. I have 2 and they have the best audio. Personally I use studio monitors for speaker's. Wish I could hear it in person. My last bike was an 04 VFR 800 with Stantune exhaust. Sounds amazing with that V4. Personally better than a V twin.

    I think the exhaust note is too low. I have a two brothers exhaust on my FZ-6r. *To me*, my bike sounds like I’m driving a formula 1 car where as this sounds like it’s a cruiser.

    • @ilmostro16
      @ilmostro16  4 ปีที่แล้ว

      In this case, the specific exhaust won’t change that characteristic. V-twin engines sound deep with a rumble. No matter what exhaust is used. Your FZ-6 is an in-line 4 cylinder engine which has a very different exhaust note, higher pitch, more like an electric motor, while a V-twin will always sound more like a muscle car. Different people prefer different sound, Ducati fans love the deep V-twin bass and rumble. Keep in mind, this Supersport is essentially a Monster under the fairings. It’s using the same engine the Hypermotard uses which is the same as the Monster line uses, just different CC’s. The Panigale V2 uses a completely different engine and while it’s a V-twin, it has a different exhaust character.

    • @rchaser4
      @rchaser4 4 ปีที่แล้ว

      IL MOSTRO on one hand you are saying a v-twin will always sound more like a muscle car, but on the other hand a panigale v-twin is different. I really like the super sport, but that exhaust note (stock) is killing me!
