Hello Professor M. I so enjoyed this video. I love how yoy explain the different eras of goth and the Dark Circus. You make everything so darkly enjoyable. And i cannot wait for the next video. And as usual, i love your look. 🖤💜🖤

Lynn~ You truly made my day with the comments above. I was so moved you loved the Dark Circus episode explanation, I find I could talk about it for hours and in-depth, yet for my Gothically Yours program I kept it short and sweet. I look so much to getting the next video out I really hope you will enjoy the next installment. 🎩

I am 51 and I’ve seen a picture of my 1st costume…I was 4 months old dressed as a bunny. From 5 years old until my teenage years I dressed as a witch or something dark. I still dress up the same way every year because HALLOWEEN is my favorite day of the year 💀🖤
Thank you for the facts and history as well as the movies to watch. Happy Halloween 🎃

Janie thanks for sharing! Bunnies! I think all mom's do kids in cute fuzzy animals when small. My last costume was a pizza. It was a difficult costume to wear but the comments received made it worth it. Please check out Something Wicked Comes This Way from 1983. Its the dark Circus/Carnival Ray Bradbury's book excellent. Guessing Ray is a Goth!

Another wonderful video. I don't have a personal memory of my first Halloween, but my mother has a picture of me dressed in a Witchypoo costume. I was a little over a year old at the time (so this would have been 1971). I had one of those plastic Jack-O-Lantern buckets and I still have it. I put an artificial fall foliage bouquet in it when I decorate for fall. Many thanks Professor M and as always I look forward to your next video.

Sharon, what a delight it was to read that. Specially the Witchypoo part!! I know that character well. Magic Flute and Zap the World. Sweet. Many thanks to you for watching and sharing! Another video is on its way as sure as the sun will set and twilight begins.

Great video!! and Happy Halloween! I am not familiar with the term "Dark Circus". I enjoy learning more about the culture. But we do have a local theatre troop that fits the description. Phantasmagoria Orlando. Thanks for the interesting history. Looking forward to more.

Thank you for the good talk about the Dark Circus!
I wished I had the time to relisten to it and comment on the parts that I liked the most and that amazed me at how little I still know on topics that first attracted me in my early youth!
I'm sad and pissed today, for two reasons.
First, I did a Jack-o-Lantern home and put it outside at the intersection of the main road near my home, little before sunset. The morning after it was gone. 😠
Then, I wanted to dress up and take a walk downtown. No way: I had to work till late in the evening and tomorrow morning I'll have to wake up early.😫
    Bad Halloween this year!
Hope yours was a much better one.

Blato- That is sad news about the missing pumpkin! How dare they take your pumpkin. That is a great loss. -- I read this " ...at how little I still know on topics that first attracted me in my early youth!" Don't worry, or feel upset over anything the vast universe of Goth-information can be overwhelming but if you seek it , you will find it. This subject on the Dark Circus was very close to my heart and I just knew deep deep down, other may enjoy it also. I made it a point to share only things I am really fond of here on Gothically Yours Professor M. -- My Halloween? Fairly good!! I posted a pic on Instagram of my skull with a king's crown on it. If you enjoyed the Dark Circus video, feel free to leave me any comments you want- I am eager to read and comment back. The Dark Circus... hurry, hurry, hurry, step right up and see the show!!

Sadly, I don't have childhood memories of Halloween. It was only through reading a review of one of the early 'Halloween' movies (II or III probably) that I became aware of it. We didn't really have the dressing up et cetera in Europe in the seventies. Only in the past decades has it become 'a thing', so to speak.
Thanks for the info on the Dark Circus. You mention a lot of great movies and some I will need to check out. Happy Halloween, Professor!

Now older also, my best feelings to share are to enjoy Halloween now, and create what was not there. Meaning, enjoy the present Halloween to make up for them^^.

Oh my Gods! You've just reminded me of the ONLY time I dressed up for Halloween as a child (around 10 years old). I borrowed my mum's black, hooded cloak (with a royal purple lining) and paired it with a marcasite brooch she had. I spent the night peering out the upstairs windows at passers-by.

Only time you dressed up at Halloween--- Anton- now is good time to re-start again. As we get older- we have TOTAL right on Halloween to get dressed up even more so- special for adults. I have 2 or 3 cloaks I wear one of them is massive and can be seen in my The Future of Goth Video at the ending.

Atomic Stag did you catch my shout out to you in the other video? If so, let me know ~ and the answer your question, during the 70s and even into the early 80s there were incidences of bad accidents (intentional hurting) also I remember hospitals would offer free X-Raying of tricker or treater candy.

Oh my goodness, my first time seeing Star Wars was at a 70's drive in as well! Station wagon, sitting on the roof and all!

Ha!! Love this reply.♡ This makes me feel good to know that another had experienced this station wagon theater outside 70s culture. I want to relive it. My father said, many guys would forget the speaker attached to the window and would drive away and crack, there goes the window. I am so glad you enjoyed this video posting because i am so glad to hear your experience likewise.
