I feel old. I remember when my grandfather had a license for his CB. He listened to long wave or short wave at night. My other grandfather listened to police and fire on his Bearcat scanner. I listened to KNX or KFI at night under the covers in bed. A long time ago in a Galaxy far, far away.

Great radio bought mine about a month ago. I keep it next to my ham radios in my shack. I always have it on if I am doing FT8. Love the internet side of it. The company is great I gave them a suggestion to add Pandora , Sirius and other streamers in a firmware update and they got back to me and said they would forward it to their engineers to see what they can do. I love that they get back to you within 24hours. You can’t go wrong with the LC-90

I've seen reports from many users that the use of the external antenna causes the overload leading to the interference of strong local stations (KFI) when you were trying to listen to WWV. Perhaps step outside with only the telescoping antenna and recheck some shortwave freqs. I'm really enjoying mine, had for 3 weeks and two firmware upgrades. Current version as of 9/19/24 is 4.6. The MW broadcast band is the weakest link in my opinion. I've found the FM performance very good. Loving the internet capability!

FYI, the most recent firmware update turns this into a full coverage receiver, able to cover up to 30 Mhz in shortwave. As to picking up KFI over WWV, I dont know that your antenna setup isnt causing problems, using splitters has always done weird things for me. I would recommend picking up a simple L shaped female to male mono so you arent using a splitter.

I just sent an email to Chonyang Technical
    Support a couple of
    days ago, that I can't
    connect my LC90M,
    the mini version, as
    with the full size LC90M,
    according to them,
    because of the Security
    Protocol, WPA, WPA2, etc.
    I have an older Ocean
    small internet connected
    receiver which works
    fine with my WiFi, now
    being a TMobile Gateway,
    and where I resided
    previously, with Xfinity
    Cable internet at a 1GB
    plus speed.
    Somebody previously
    advised me to use an
    older router with less
    Security levels.
I say no, this is a fault
    from Choyong.
    I already returned my
    LC90M, and now have
    the LC90M with the
    same compatibility
    problem.
    All my other devices
    do connect to my 5G
    internet as they did
    previously with Cable
    Broadband Xfinity. 😮

My receiver was a COLLINS 75A4. PLEASE consider doing some posts on vintage HAM GEAR, learning Morse Code, getting a license, and SAFELY ( good lightning arrestor ) assembling a HAM SHACK. Using a good, safe end-fed and tuned long wire, I sometimes go to AM and FM and listen SKIP ----》 what is the farthest away commercial station I can QSL . Back in Grad School when not doing Chemistry research, I fantasized about achieving a CW DXCC on 40 M with a max RF oUT of 500 mW 🤪 Never made it. Retired now, I just might go back.

This may be a bit off topic but I have a small problem that possibly you or some of your audience may have knowledge of. I am just trying to get back on the air after 13or so years of inactivity due to a condo that has rules against using ham or CB equipment. I know I could have taken them to court and PROBABLY have beaten them even if they claim it is a deed restriction. But did not go that route because all of my neighbors would have hated me because a law suit and lawyer would be an excuse to rase the condo fees even if I am totally within my rights. But now I am getting ready to sell my condo and set up my equipment in an RV. But I found an od little radio I can find nowhere on the web and I would like to get a manual before even firing it up to see if it works. Not even sure if it was a gift by someone or maybe a silent key garage sale???? It's an Alinco DK-MC 3 SX. Anyone know anything about it or how to find a manual for it?

You don’t need to pay more than a $100 for a radio to listen to news. Heck a $10 radio will still let you listen to depressing news. News will not change even if you have an expensive radio. And news from around the world is even more depressing than our local news. Listening to good music just requires a pair of good bluetooth speakers. That said it’s still fun to fiddle around with a like old fashioned radio. Enjoy a little of an era gone by.

    Stopped @ 2:33 seconds because, the Lord Jesus Christ's name ( Jesus! ) is NOT a cursed word!! ... Ezekiel 2:1-3:27; 18:1-32; 33:1-33 ( King James Bible ONLY! ) ... Ephesians 4:29-30; I Peter 1:16-17; I Cor. 15:33-34; Psalm 1:1-6; 19:1-14; 119:1-176; Prov. 3:33; I Peter 1:1-II Peter 3:18; James 3:1-18!! ... Matthew 24:1-25:46!! ... I'd be READING: Daniel 1:1-13:12; and Revelation 1:1-22:21 over and over again!! / II Tim. 2:14-26; I Tim. 4:13-16!! ... or else. ... Matt. 7:1-27!! ... but who pays ATTENTION to the details of God's holy written word in THESE LAST DAYS? ... Even so, Amen.
