It's funny that a lot of hams will ask "Why use internet radio if you have a phone in your pocket?" Forgetting that a lot of the danger to our hobby comes from the opinion "Why use ham radio if you have a phone in your pocket?"
Great radio bought mine about a month ago. I keep it next to my ham radios in my shack. I always have it on if I am doing FT8. Love the internet side of it. The company is great I gave them a suggestion to add Pandora , Sirius and other streamers in a firmware update and they got back to me and said they would forward it to their engineers to see what they can do. I love that they get back to you within 24hours. You can’t go wrong with the LC-90
I've seen reports from many users that the use of the external antenna causes the overload leading to the interference of strong local stations (KFI) when you were trying to listen to WWV. Perhaps step outside with only the telescoping antenna and recheck some shortwave freqs. I'm really enjoying mine, had for 3 weeks and two firmware upgrades. Current version as of 9/19/24 is 4.6. The MW broadcast band is the weakest link in my opinion. I've found the FM performance very good. Loving the internet capability!
Great video. I have a cheap radio with SM stations. In our area (Vancouver BC) there is a East Indian station that comes on (SM - .2). What is SM and is this short wave. I need to purchase another radio like this and I don't know where to start looking. Many thanks.
Your picking up hetrodyne possibly from the FM band. Mine does the same according to what antenna on shortwave. It's not filtering out the fm with the antenna your using.
I have one and this radio is internet focused and as such one can't expect the same receive quality as Qodosen DX286 or XHDATA D808. With the ability to add to the internet stations I find myself using LC90 everyday, can't say the same for all the other shortwave radios in my collection.
@@mrtechie6810 I have PL-680 which I love for different reasons. If I really want to work MW/SW I do with my Qodosen DX286, Tecsun PL-286 or XHDATA D808. The LC90 just a great internet and general radio. It does excel at being able to get OTA firmware upgrades with fixes and new features at no additional cost.
I had the previous S2000, it lasted 3 years and then had no audio any more. Two technicians explained to me that the printed board had to be changed, which meant the end of the Tecsun. I would not recommend that model.
FYI, the most recent firmware update turns this into a full coverage receiver, able to cover up to 30 Mhz in shortwave. As to picking up KFI over WWV, I dont know that your antenna setup isnt causing problems, using splitters has always done weird things for me. I would recommend picking up a simple L shaped female to male mono so you arent using a splitter.
Winamp and a clone by the name of XMMS, which was built into the earliest versions of Ubuntu Linux, a long time ago. I have vivid memories of streaming electronic music while playing Counter Strike. Those were the golden years.

I just sent an email to Chonyang Technical Support a couple of days ago, that I can't connect my LC90M, the mini version, as with the full size LC90M, according to them, because of the Security Protocol, WPA, WPA2, etc. I have an older Ocean small internet connected receiver which works fine with my WiFi, now being a TMobile Gateway, and where I resided previously, with Xfinity Cable internet at a 1GB plus speed. Somebody previously advised me to use an older router with less Security levels. I say no, this is a fault from Choyong. the MW is pretty poor. It is better to turn off the WIFI when listening to MW or shortwave, and being outside with a longwire attached. I like the FM and internet stations, I have already added 50 more station streams to my favorites.
