Eton FR250 Emergency Crank/Battery Radio with AM/FM & Shortwave from a Thrift Store (Old Video)

In early February 2024, I found this complete (except the box itself) Eton emergency radio at the smaller of the two thrift stores I frequent. This FR250 model unfortunately doesn’t have NWR reception, but it does get a good chunk of the shortwave frequencies and has an actual analog tuner. It also came with a neat little pouch.

$9, congrats. I've had one just like this for about 20 years. Used to listen to KFI in Los Angeles on repeater, and shortwave broadcasts. It's a great tool to have in an emergency.

Yeah. I just wish it had weather band reception. But it’s not as though I can’t receive NWR without it!

I found a 12-262 before christmas and i think its a good one bc it has no tuner issues even though its 2008

Its proberly interferance from stuff in your house like your WiFi etc nice unit interesting

I’m sure that’s some of it. But I don’t think this is a very high-quality shortwave receiver.
