I call it the 321 method, you go from 3 strands to 2, then through to 1 & repeat. Very helpful, thanks. I'm trying out a fine thread with a fine needle, it began taking on it's own shape...it could've been a button cover, as I kept going, it's beginning to fit like a glove (so it's becoming a finger), I've had this old basket of thread for years, not sure where I got it from, but it's like lace making....same materials. Wow. Next time I'm going to do this with wool.

Mine is constantly curling inwards :( I tried using a smaller needle (from 5mm to 3mm) and loosening my tension - it still curls like crazy. I wish it was as pretty, flat and even as yours is!
@@KweenTAC it doesn't happen to me anymore as much, since I'm using a bigger hook 😁 it turns out that when I was writing this comment I used a 3.5 not 5, but now with the same yarn I'm using a 4 and it never curls. Math and stitch wise how do you keep this going? When/what stitch will you do singles or doubles in? I'd like to make a lovey size or little larger. TY for the help :-)
so the first round is 12 stitches, you add 12 stitches every round so round 2 has 24 stitches, round 3: 36, round 4: 48, etc. round 2 is 2 stitches in each stitch of the previous row, round 3 is 1 dc in the first stitch, 2 dc in the next stitch, 1 dc in the next stitch, 2 dc in the next stitch, etc until you get 36 stitches, round 4 is 1 dc in the first stitch, 1 dc in the next stitch, 2 dc in the next stitch, 1 dc in the next stitch, 1 dc in the next stitch, 2 dc in the next stitch, etc until you get 48 stitches for that row. so round 5 would be 1 dc, 1 dc, 1 dc, 2 dc, repeated, round 6 is 1 dc, 1 dc, 1 dc, 1 dc, 2 dc, repeated. you just add 1 dc to the pattern from the previous round.
I did it exactly as she said to. I think my issue was not the right size hook for the yarn I was using ... but I also am curious as to how to keep going if you want to do something like say a blanket... because if you do go up to like 7 single crochets then the 2 into one hole it starts to develop flat edges.

For every round going forward from where she left off, you're going to increase the number of stitches that you put a single stitch into. For example, round 5 you put 1 stitch in the next 3 stitches, then 2 stitches in the 4th stitch. Repeat that- 1 stitch in next 3 stitches, 2 stitches in the 4th stitch all the way around. You can use any stitch you want- single crochet, double crochet, half double crochet- it's the same for all. Round 6 put 1 stitch in the next 4 stitches, then 2 stitches in the 5th stitch- repeat all the way around. So every row you increase the number of stitches that you' are putting only1 stitch into. Hope that makes sense. :-)
