    I know this was published several years ago, but I’ve only discovered and started using your channel for about a week. Just wanted to say I personally find the Bobby pin method of marking much easier than the traditional piece of yarn as a marker. Feels so much more secure as I move around! Thank you!

      I've been crocheting for a couple years now and I was always using those little mini plastic safety pins you get in the knitting section but they are cumbersome and sometimes break. I just now saw this video and now using the Bobby pin and it is way better!

    Omg you are an incredible teacher! Thank you so so much. I finally understand. I didn't realize that it was 2 single crochet every second stitch and a single crochet between them and I kept ending up with WAY TOO MANY STITCHES. You explained it so well and clearly and the light bulb in my brain went off and I understood. You are indeed a Crochet Guru.

    Well done. I've been crocheting off and on for decades. Mostly making afghans and other pieces in which loose patterns and "holes" are desirable. I'm embarking on arigurumi, which requires a different mindset. Your videos are exacty what I needed to refresh my skills. Thanks for tip about increasing each round the same number of stitches you started with. Brilliant. Love the Magic Circle. Brava!

    Hi ddma... Thank you for your post and as for your question. Rnd 6: (sc in next 4 sc, 2 sc in next sc). Rnd 7: (sc in next 5 sc, 2 sc in next sc). So you are correct except for the last part. Instead of 2 sc it is actually only 1. I hope that helps!

    Hi there. I haven’t crocheted in 40+ years but my granddaughter really wants a Harry Potter which is crochet… and it’s done with DK yarn on 2.5mm 😳 Your teachings have been so amazing. I started with magic loop and crocheting in the round flat. Question: when creating a tube, do I chain 1 at the end of each round before going onto the next round in order to step up, if you know what I mean. And, do I still go into the 2nd stitch or is that just for the first round?

    Your video tutorials are super useful for beginners like me! Thanks a lot Bobby. I have a small query however. After i tried step 2 of your method 1 and counted how many stitches i had, there seemed to be 7 and not six, where have i gone wrong?

  • @CrochetGuru
    @CrochetGuru  11 ปีที่แล้ว

    Hi Jackie, By reading what you explained it sounded like you are probably not doing it correctly...but don't get discouraged. (sc in next 2 sc) this means to place 1 single crochet into the next 2 single crochets. (2 sc in next 2 sc) this means to place 2 single crochets into only (1) the next single crochet. I hope that helps if not let me know and I will try to explain it further!!

    • @Aubrae
      @Aubrae 4 ปีที่แล้ว

      Then isn't it written wrong? Shouldn't it be written "2sc in the next sc". The way you wrote it sounds like you do 2 single crochets in each of the next 2 stitches...

    I'm a crochet beginner. I followed your instructions making a circle. I had no problems with the circle starting to form a dome. However, I did have problems with it ruffling, as if there were too many stitches. So, I pulled my work back out and started over 2 more times. But, it continued to start to ruffle as my circle got bigger. Can you advise as to what I'm doing wrong and how to correct it. Thanks.

    hi Bobbie, i'm learning from you. Your videos are the best! Thanks for all. I have a question about this example, i start with 6 sc in magic ring, in second row i get 12 and in third row i get 18 as you said. but in forth i can not get 24, it is always 26. Why? Is it because of just starting sc in next 2sc and 2sc in next 2sc as in the pattern? where do i make mistake?

      I believe in the fourth round it goes:
      Single in 1 stitch
      Single in 1 stitch
      Single in 1 stitch
      2 singles in one stitch.
      1.2.34.5.6.78.9.10.1112.13.14.1516.17.18.1920.21.22.2324...
      What I did was try to separate each stitch with the period but showing the the stitch number 3&4 will go into one stitch...
      I hope that makes sense...
