this is what santa (the dancer) said about the rise performance: “my own real part and TAEMIN’s real straight emotions were all pulled out, our feelings were about to explode for how many times. No, our emotions indeed exploded!”
also, taemin is really getting along well with the dancers and a lot of them say that working with taemin is the dream come true. this is what santa said after the xtm tour ended: "this live was the first big break for me. which is why i was happy to be on taemin's stage. big brother who changed my life."
btw some of his dancers are now in a japanese-chinese group WARPs UP (rikimaru & santa. rikimaru was also a dancer for shinee & a choreographer (for taemin's famous, also for red velvet & boa). a lot have competed in dance competitions & some even have degrees in dance (i dont remember who and can't find it, im sure someone else can comment). so taemin really has the best of the best in his dance crews cause they literally can be artists by themselves.
this is honestly one of my top favorite performances from taemin. knowing that he has this concept of 'duality' i can imagine that he wanted to portray his 'other self' as the dancer. so both of them are 'him'. idk if that makes sense, that's just my own thoughts.

Rise is one of my most favorite Taemin songs, not only ballad-wise, in general. And this performance is unmatched! His voice, his emotions, the aesthetics and Santa’s dancing (it’s the name of a dancer) make it soul and heart melting... I especially love the moment when they reach out their hands and even though on stage they are standing far away from each other in the screen it looks like they are touching...

I saw Taemin 3 times in my life. He is Amazing, humble, kind, so generous with a great body. I think he is an angel.
I feel exactly like her everytime I watch this stage of Rise.

Rise performance always give me chills. Taemin is phenomenal performer.
Fun fact: Taemin wrote the lyrics for "Soldier," so that is one of the reasons why he feels so passionately about this song when he performs it, because it's all his own words and thoughts. And because this concert was part of Taemin's Japanese concert tour, you heard him perform the Japanese version of the song, but he also has a Korean version. :D
In his "Rise" performance, I interpret the dancer to be Taemin's inner self, and the dancer is interpreting Taemin's inner feelings and emotions.
Taemins Ballads are absurdly good. My favorite ever is Heaven but geez these songs are so good.

Truly, Taemin has got to be my favorite ballad performer that I've ever come across. I like his ballads more than I like his stunning other songs like Idea, Want, etc. But then SHINee will perform a ballad together and I think to myself, "that's a whole other level". So, I think SHINee ballads and Taemin ballads are incomparable, but between the two are ridiculous percentage of my favorite songs/performances in existence. It's kind of baffling. There's a performance of Taemin singing Despacito and Hypnosis in Chile, South America. It was so touching. This version of Rise makes me cry. These are in Japanese and I love them, I feel they flow and feel more powerful. Taemin I love you.
The whole concert of this, named SIRIUS, was insanely amazing !! U should check his whole concert of this if u have time in ur own, this is one of my fav concert, such a master piece!!
Rise is just a beautiful song and the live performance hits just different. And Santa dancing just completes it, everything is so perfect with that performance

You know how some people will ask, "How can you listen to foreign music if you don't know what they're saying?" This is a prime example of not needing to know - you can FEEL it. The fact that Taemin is a household name worldwide is a damn shame. He is bursting with talent and charisma, a born performer!
This is from the concert DVD, which is recorded from the last concert of the two-month Sirius Tour in 2018 with a total of 32 concerts, and it is also the third one in Musashino Tokyo. For me, this is more than just a concert. As I remember in behind the scenes clip in the concert DVD, he himself said that he had exhausted his best performance on the first day in Tokyo Musashino. He was worried about the next two days, and then at the end of the second day, his entire legs were severely cramped and he could only crawled back to the backstage. He was extremely exhausted on the last day, but he still managed to deliver such an astonishing performance to us. I really appreciate that and feel so proud of him.
