    Great review of a great rifle! You summed up my thoughts after two years of ownership. I've found the Remington Express XP 177 to be very accurate using H&N Barracuda FT pellets. I know they're a field target pellet, but they work well on pigeons too. Anyone else using field target pellets for pest control?

    • @Beesa10
      @Beesa10 5 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      Yes mate, the best pellets for hunting/ pest control are whichever pellets are most accurate (smallest groups) with your rifle. H&N Field Target Tropy pellets often group well and are popular for pest control. It's worth testing several different types of pellets with any given air rifle as there will nearly always be one type that groups best.

    Great review as always. I know you've recently cleaned up your rifle collection, but I do wanna know: Out of the Remington Express and the Remington Express Compact, which one did you feel better about holding and shooting? How would you feel about freehand shooting with the regular Express? I know the Compact is shorter but there is just that crude ruggedness I seem to like about the standard Express which I feel I might miss out on if I buy a Compact.
    Don't stop making videos! You have a gift for presentation that would give the ASMR folks a big run for their money!

    • @PlanetDrewdog
      @PlanetDrewdog  ปีที่แล้ว +2

      In truth, I found the standard Express to be better to shoot, it doesn't feel like a long gun, is accurate too. Compact is ok but my vote goes to the standard Express for sure.

    I've noticed a bunch of first shot flyers with my b19 platformed guns (which I think that is). I think its either the lube in the cylinder or a bedding issue with the stock. I've tried all I know to do to alleviate it and it really doesn't make a difference. I also think you can rc mod that trigger for next to nothing and a little adjustment makes it a 1.5lb trigger. Keep these coming. Fantastic video.
    What are you using to record and edit? There's no way I could get that color grade and my skin not be weird.

    • @PlanetDrewdog
      @PlanetDrewdog  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Thanks Travis! At the moment I use a Panasonic Lumix G85 with a Helios 44-2 on a speedbooster as the main camera - using Cine-D pic profile. I grade simply using an old Osiris LUT - M31, at 50% opacity.
      But: Notice the grade on the rifle close up shots in the video. This is an M100 Canon with a custom pic profile I bought years ago, and the image you see is straight out of camera - no editing at all.
      If you like the look of my M100 footage, I think I may still have the Pic Profile on an old laptop. If I find it I'll email it to you.
      I'm aiming to sell the G85 and get an M50 so I can use the same PP and thus speed up video production.

    Mine was very stiff when I first got it had it a year now and it's not as stiff but still takes a bit of elbow grease to break it I've found since I've worn it in the stray pellets aren't anywhere near as bad as they used to be I get consistent group now fairly accurate worst it gets is maybe 2cm off target someone has already stated the two screws do become loose over time all I adjust my trigger it's now one of my favourite budget rifles I would recommend for beginners.
