I am having the worst trouble with these shocks, I've assembled all my others, and they are perfect. There is this one shock that is having the most issues, new rebuild kit properly install, aluminum caps, new bladder, and a new body. Some how I am still getting oil behind the bladder inside the cap and it is causing me to leak oil everywhere. It is currently leaking from the cap area, so I have ruled out the bottom of the shock being any issue. Since I race Stock Slash, this is really causing me trouble because it is making my slash chassis roll. I would greatly appreciate some feedback!
Don't worry about that. That's what happens when the spring isn't on and you have a 2 hole piston on(comes stock like that). That is the Piston at work. If you install one with more holes in it then it won't push back out.
Ok so I bent the shaft in my rear shock on my rc truck which I'm trying to figure out a way to replace it but am very hesitant to do anything to my truck because I don't want to mess it up even more I have all the parts I need to replace both rear shocks completely and now I also have the knowledge of how to do it mostly but how do you remove the silver little piece in the bottom of the shock that you put the screw through and allows the show to wiggle a small amount. Because I need to remove it from my damaged shocks and put it in my new shocks because it didn't come with the kit

Not the correct way to fill and remove air bubbles. Fill just below to maybe 1/16 of an inch. Then move piston up and down slowly, keeping it submerged. Then let it sit vertically in a stand. All air will be out in about 15minutes as gravity will lift any remaining to the top where they will pop. Then very slowly top off with the piston a quarter of the way up. Tighten tightly let excess overflow. The shift should rebound about half way very slowly after you push it in all the way. The put spring back and reassemble. Also, you may want to try a 3 or 4 hole piston with heavier oil. Say 40 to 50 weight... The stick oil I think is 30wt and is too light...
Thanks for these vids, they've prevented a lot of headaches ..
Best How-to videos on TH-cam :) Thumbs up from me.
Great video. Very helpful.

Happens to me too, one shock i get stiff and others get Oil behind, just changed all seals and no diff

You didnt pump shaft up and down after filling to get air bubbles out? Otherwise great vid
It looks cool, I'm thinking of buying it. Thanks
Very Cool thanks for the help

What shock oil should I use. I run on grass and pavement. Also the higher the number the oil the smoother it is?
For all around driving 50 weight is good. The higher weight oil it is, the longer it takes for the oil to pass through the piston.
Loving the vids man.
Was that the stock oil?
@MrLimondavis I also think that it is bent.
hey could you do the same thing but for bb's?
I'm going to make that video on Sunday/Monday. I have a very busy weekend at work.
awesome man
What kind of springs are those

How do u do that change your pistan
My shock caps still leak on the rear
No, it's not your eyes. It was bent. I straightened it out afterwards.
No it was the bladder. It wasn't set in the shock cap properly.
Cool
No, you're going to have to replace it.
That shaft looks bent, plus you should remove that huge burr on you piston...
Yeah
Thanks
Maybe your shock was leaking oil because the cap was stripped due to you tightening it too much with the screwdriver.
Thanks bro
@FormlaGamer123 yes it does
I think my eyes might be playing tricks on me but that shock shaft looked a lil bent
happend to mine too
