It was the 109th Founding anniversary of this Municipality. And well, up here in the Cordilleras, the locals not only had many unique diskarte ways of surviving and thriving... but they certainly know how to use bamboo stilts! As part of the celebrations, locals competed in an intense competition of various games. My all time favorite?
BAMBOO STILT RACING!
From unique bamboo and wooden river boats, to various wines, foods, and woven products... to intense competition and games...
APAYAO AND THIS EXPERIENCE IN KABUGAO WAS FREAKING AWESOME!

Most important of all is you immerse yourself in the culture and traditions of the people and communities you visit. I so missed this in your vlogs. It is only through this that I am able to go places with you. I have been with you to all the places including my ancestral province of Batanes. Been with you on that ship from Sual to Basco. Then the Pandemic hit. I have been with all this time in Cateel. Your continued devotion to Therine is so heart warming. Keep on on doing your thing Kyle. Hope to see you in Baguio City.

That race was hilarious. Those are the kind of things that brings a lot of joy without having to have a lot of money to have to enjoy.
I visited Kabugao 26yrs ago, enjoyed my stay there, visited all the rivers around . Bought fresh coffee beans and wild red rice harvested on the high mountain side, saw the native people harvesting.
I love the drive -Conner to Kabugao proper, similar to Rockies in Alberta and B.C. My unforgetable experience there, was my host made reservation at the only restaurant in town for supper, asked to make a special meal ( Canadian relatives), We were served with local dish and a corned beef with potatoes . The owner came and specifically told me that they took out the last of their prized imported Corned beef for me. I thank them graciously, but I preffered to eat the local dish instead. I still smile at that experience . Thanks for sharing your trip to Kabugao Kulas.
I've been watching you since you travel in cordillera specifically from province of isabela to ifugao and benguet before quarantine and now you return and travelling again to some other parts. Thank you sir for promoting our tourism,culture and traditions of the North😊🎉👏

Hi Kyle, the highlight of my day today was meeting one of your close friend Carlos Mariano Cocasse (I’m not sure the spelling of his last name) I was at the RBC bank doing some bank business and I’m fortunate to have Carlos as my bank RRSP account advisor. We talked about you and how great you are. He said he’s planning to go back to visit Argentina around November. A place I want to visit someday. Also, he mentioned the videos you uploaded to TH-cam when you came back home in Canada and i watched that videos too. I can say that the world is really small and Victoria is small. We had a great talked about your home visit and he was very helpful with my bank business today 🥰
How fun to experience the festival during your travels. You should have got a LBC box of the local products and sent back to Cateel. That was an amazing experience.

So awesome to see familiar faces! If im ever back home when you decide to go back, Ill make it my mission to get you a barangay ride! Might even be able to get you a carabao ride 😂 If you thought the roads were nice and beautiful, the mighty Apayao river is so much better! You can also reach other barangays with the barangays, Visited 10 of them when I went back before covid happened.

these are the games we play in Bikol on my childhood....im 54 now..... im so glad to see it again the stills. frankly... it took me days t0 perfect it. but the sack race... forget i always fumble.......these are pure pinoy kids play when there are no gadgets.... thanks Kulas for bringing my childhood

we called it here in leyte, kadang. i remeber durinig boy scput jamboree held in town there is always a kadang race competion and our school always won that...
this areas is the most memorable for me bai kulas....we try to make a loop riding our bicycle from tuguegarao-conner-kabugao then exit to luna and back to tuguegarao....the view and the road are the best...but the elevations and gradient are the hardest part...salamat kulass

apayao and kalinga produces best tasting coffee beans.it randomly grows on the side of the road.but that was about 3 decades ago.i don't know if they still have it or producing them locally.

I remember walking with the stick but it's not made of bamboo but from wood sticks.. I learn it so fast even tho it is mostly played by boys.. As a kid i experienced the feeling of being tall using them.. 😂😂😂
