I actually think that he would be a viable legend in apex legends.. Not overpowered at all considering we have legends like Gibby, horizan and valk . In my opinion fox is better than any legend we have in apex yet not overpowered at all . Maybe a bit annoying to fight but that's it.
Also to balance the ult i would recommend making it last a bit longer than ash's ult and less than wraith's. Wish the dev's would actually buy your concept . You should send this video to one of them.
some interesting concepts I had based off this idea. Imagine if the legend was based around the thrusters that every legend has for landing to keep them from breaking their legs. For example those small dashes where he just waves his hands could instead be the legend 'overloading' those thrusters to get brief zips of speed in random directions that slow down at the end. Could also explain how their slide mechanics work as well, the thrusters could give you speed boosts while sliding and you can slide with more versatility, up hills, with no momentum, ect. Not for too long and not TOO fast of course. Maybe he has to pull some kind of ripcord located on his back which makes it so he cant ADS or shoot whatsoever when overloading that thruster. The ult could also reflect that concept a bit more too.
This would work around the idea that when you slide and press the ability bottom,,this will speed the sliding making it even useful in hills but comes with a couldown The same when you are running walking and you dash show in the video
This made me think what if there was a titan fall legend with the ability’s to slide of walls this could be a passive and could be the used with lots of movement teck like wall slide jumps ect
There's one issue I could see happening with him that would make him absolutely awful to play against. Considering he can block paths and doors with his ultimate, playing against him on maps like olympus or certain parts of kings canyon would be awful - he could essentially use his ultimate to block paths and doors, put the exit somewhere off the map and then use his dash tactical to get back on the ground. As a result anyone caught in the rift would 100% die after taking the rift. Not even Wraith can set up traps like that. And the only counterplay to it would be valk, loba, pathfinder, ash and sometimes newcastle. The possible balancing would be that he can't use his tactical after using his ultimate for a few seconds so he can't set up instant death traps like that lol. I like him a lot tho. Could see him being played with legends like caustic so you can just straight up suck people into a room full of traps. I would love that lol
new castle ult or caustic gas traps or rampart walls or wraiths portal can already block off tunneled areas, I think his ult is fine. Just make it so it only last a few seconds shorter then ashes portal. No point making his tac nerfed that just slows game play and well he is suppose to be all about movement so instead of putting a wraith Q timer on his Q just make his ult last for like 6 seconds. I still get wraith ported off cliffs to this day so it won’t make a difference nerfing his q just make it so his ult can’t block off tunnels for a long time or make it so you can push out sides ways at any point like horizons Q you don’t need to ride it all the way to the top?

His ultimate is such a good idea, but having more than two or three "dashes" to create a blocking fast-travel tunnel is a bit too broken, as this immediately reduces the point of positioning when you can simply dash rotate into any location regardless of height with little to no punishment (and this really just feels like an ash ult 1.1). Imo two to three (max) really long dashes while being vulnerable during the dashes sounds workable, and players traveling through the tunnel should be as trackable (and vulnerable) as someone leaping off of an Octane Pad. The tactical is a neat concept though, still wouldn't give him more than maybe two to three dashes. His initial speed should not be more than what a Pathy can get without the penalty of being slow at startup, so if it really has to be super-fast upon button press, I'd cap the burst of speed at an octane stim maximum run-speed or bangalore passive speed boost. Like the concept though, and the visuals really help get your ideas across.
you could balance the blinking by adding a longer initial charge up which after blinking, creates a period where you can blink again with no windup so it wouldnt be a hyper escape tool. Holding it of course would still do the longblink
Concept: cryo based legend Passive: can freeze doors, crates and respawn beacons for a period of time Tactical: two charges, each charge creates a relatively small spire of ice that lifts them in the air, kind of like a horizon tactical but a third of the height and is both solid(climbable and destructible) Ultimate: creates a large area of splash ice to the floor, all legends slide very far and very fast when they slide in this area (I am thinking slightly larger in area than caustic’s gas grenade) thoughts?
Amazing concept. I feel a good way to both strengthen his ult would be to make the ult have more "dashes" by how long you keep it or by which ring you're in i.e if your in ring 3 you get 5 jumps, ring 4 you get 7 etc. It'll obviously feel like a wraith ult but its a good hybrid of horizon q and wraith ult.
id love the idea of him maybe being like sorta a ved "back in the war we didnt have these puny weapons" val:"so you knew my dad?" "yea we used to go way back until he became an apex predator..." i also really enjoy the idea of him getting along with gibby and caustic being a sarcastic as caustic but also nice like gibby
It’s a proof of concept. Give the creator a little credit. Imagine if Respawn got the hands on it in their engine. It would be entirely flushed out. This is just showing you the basic idea for it.
I agree in the third person but not the first so maybe it’s just that the lack of animation doesn’t sell the momentum in third person.. cause the first person works I think

This is a very interesting idea for a character, but i think he is going to be in the same situation as valkyrie. since you have such big delay between your dash and pulling out your weapons. Are you planning on making this "indie developer makes a movement legend on it's own" a one time thing or for it to happen from time to time? It would be interesting (at least for me) to try do something similar with other concepts

Legend: Pascal dela Cruz Call sign: GEKKO Passive: Swift Camo - If gekko stops moving for 6 seconds as long as he has a wall in his back he will automatically go invisible or camouflage to that wall for 3 seconds and after that his position will be revealed again for 6 seconds.. / Down side: His camo emits a sounds that people can hear in his proximity so people can know thats there is a gekko around them. Tactical: Primal shift - When this ability is used gekko can crawl to walls with 50 percent increase of movement speed (yes... its hella fast) but since he will be using all of his limbs he cant use any guns, heal, grenades or any other things. Ultimate: Metamorphosis - In this state gekkos suit goes to an over-drive allowing him to wall-run without falling (as long as the ability is active) duration: 30 seconds. Gekko can cancel the wall run by simply jumping again. Back story: pascals family is kindda like lifelines and octanes family but instead they are NOT renowned or famous across the outlands they are a small company whos developing stealth technology and assassination work behind the curtain they are desperate to make their name and send pascal to the Apex games.
his ult feels like an air draft tunnel. what if instead of adding more dashes he just moves really fast in any direction and leaves an air draft that others can follow. you can be shot in the air draft. you can't shoot while in the air draft but can exit sliding at anytime. on flat surfaces it'll act like a power sprint for quick distance.
I think it would be cool if it launched people out of it a bit, so it's more like a mini catapult made of air, obviously no too far, like a slightly stronger octane double jump
I'd say for the ult, if there is a drastic change of angle , momentum is not applied, but if going in 1 reasonable direction, it gives you momentum out of the tunnel phox will be my main if anyone takes pathfinder

the passive seems very op. also wallrunning would not fit in this game. maybe the passive could be higher jumps? for the tactical it sounds like kay/o from valorant. also we already have bloodhound which is basically the same. maybe the tactile could be a short period where you can double jump and get extra speed from slides and slide jumps kinda like octanes ult but less powerful. and for the ultimate maybe u get what you have in the tactical but also an octane level speed boost and no fall stun like horizon.
Can't say if he's OP or if he Fits into the game until of course he's IN the game. But just the idea that "He IS Movement" is pretty fresh in certain ways. I love that Ultimate personally. Just the idea of dashing back and forth in front of a doorway and looping the exit with the entrance is hilarious.

One problem that I find with his ultimate is that, a player will not necessarily use all 5 of their dashes in succession. What happens if they use 3 dashes, and then 2 later on? Does the portal stretch out in the distance they traveled by foot in that time period (between their 3rd and 5th dash?) I feel, a better alternative would be, making multiple tunnels, this would kind of differentiate him from other repositioning legends like wraith portal or ash or even octane who can only go for a to b (obviously octane is also limited in certain ways). Now, what I mean by multiple tunnels is that, imagine I am using this legend, fox. I use his ultimate, and dash thrice to get from the first floor to the second floor of a building. Now, I walk some distance, to the other end of the room and out the door, and use the remaining two dashes. This could create 2 tunnels, from the initial starting dash to dash number 3, and then from the starting position of the 4th dash to the 5th dash. So, basically, the tunnel is made only between immediately successive dashes, and if you give a certain amount of time between dashes, the tunnel resets and starts over again from your next dash. Hopefully I was able to explain it well, English is not my first language haha..
so he could use his ult for cover in the open field too, and if u could jump on top of the tunnel and not go inside it, it would also give a huge height advantage. That ult is way too versatile and op lol
This was the one legend that I wanted to see added to the game in macro's video and this concept has just made me want to see him as an actual legend even more. That would be amazing!
His movement would definitely have to be a lot smoother, but Respawn could definitely make it work, and fast considering half the work is done, and it'd be really fun to have a legend like him. It'd be like Octane 2.0, a legend purely for fun

Any movement legend for me ranks by how satisfying and fun they are to use, which most of them achieve outside of combat mainly. Fuchs seems like he'd be a lot of fun to use IN combat! I kinda love it. And the lore fits nicely as well
I think that you should go out of first person for the ultimate so youget a better veiw of where your character is going and dont allow him to use the tactical after his ultimate so you can't just set a trap off the map but otherwise its really good and I hope to see this in apex
This is why I like your content, you really are passionate about what you like and give such good ideas. Obviously this is a prototype so won't be as smooth now but the overall concept is amazing! If this Legend was in the game, best believe I'd start maining them immediately. Sounds like a lot of fun!
I can see Fox being a locked pick with teams that focus on entrapment. Such teams would be like Caustic, Fox, and Watson. Watson places her fencing, Caustic places his traps, and Fox creates a tunnel to the trap. I can also see Fox playing a big role in more mobility based groups such as a Pathfinder, Octane, and Fox. However, where I see the most trouble with Fox is if he's in a pick with Loba, Wraith, or Ash.
make the dash bubbles shootable so people dont get thrown off the map, or trapped in a room while the ring closes... and you're looking at a solid legend ... complete with lore potential
So Fox gave me an idea for a character. The pilot (from Titanfall 2, it can either be the Jack or just any other pilot) Passive ability: Pilot Training. Allows to perform wallrun. And quickly throwing grenades without holstering your weapon. (Simply pressing g, to choose grenade hold G) Tactical ability: Void Cloak. Allows to enter the void by using the device on the left hand. Max time that can be spent in the void: 4 seconds Cooldown: 10 seconds Can be cancelled manually Does not leaves the void trail after the player. After leaving the void there will be a quick electrical sound that enemies may hear and a cooldown for taking out your weapons (like loba's cooldown after teleporting). Ultimate ability: SERE kit Cooldown 180 Seconds Gives you a Smart Pistol MK5 with only 1 Magazine. Magazine: 18 bullets Max players locked: 1 (cant lock on multiple players at once) Locks on life forms only Damage: Can kill player with a purple shield if locked on head. Cracks the player with red shield and deals some damage to the health if locked on head. Max lock on range: 10 meters Cant lock on players in smoke/Nox Gas. I think it would be cool to see Jack Cooper as a character in Apex, because this would improve lore and dialogues in the game considering that Jack Cooper knows every legend's abilities.
Love this concept and I understand how much work goes into making even something like a prototype, big respect for that. Just some ideas I had while watching your video were, for his ultimate instead of multiple dashes it could just be one but you are in control of where you're going, something of a matchup between valkyries flying ability and wraiths portal however still keeping that tunnel concept. Also having the possiblity of making the tunnel shorter by exiting the ability would also be nice. Another thing I was imagining was when he climbs a wall you could use his tactical to boost up or to the side horizontal or diagonal making him harder to hit when climbing, and depending on how many boosts you have you could scale a really high wall or maybe turn a corner really fast on a building when in trouble. Again really cool character design and I can't wait to see the next one 👍.
Honestly I think the team play and solo play would make this character meta. Being able to manage the dashes between gun fights would allow you to really mow someone down and then change your position in a near instant breaking enemy aim. Not only that but you could really turn the tide of battle by running away and then jumping and back dashing to get behind a pursuing enemy. The tunnel being able to be used from any contact point is genius and honestly could be a real life saver because seeing a wraith gain speed boosts from her ult and tactical to out run a store but then you have to sit there and wait for it to finish in order to use it can hurt you bad or if a team is charging you and you need to escape the portal might not come in time but the tunnel can have you go through immediately and from anywhere so your Allie’s aren’t waiting on you at all. I could see this being really good with Horizon because being able to take the lift then use your ult dashes to reach a higher place or give your team more momentum when jumping off the lift would be great. Another good thing about the dashes is that you can really change your mind about committing to a fight. Like if you to a gravity lift but it would’ve thrown you into a bad spot you could dash back and not deal with the consequences of your actions lol
I've started writing a book with a character that was being "supported" by the goddess Bia (roman god of energy) and had a lot of similar concepts as this character. His name was Kinei, based on Kinesthesia or "learn by doing" and kinetic energy. It'd be really fun to see a more direct approach to a mobility character who physically moves themselves around in their environment in order to get things done. Maybe the passive can also make their mobility stronger when they're healthier (plus additional movement with full health + shield?) so there's an incentive to approach fights in ways that would physically get you in trouble less (from above, from behind, etc.)
This is a lot like a character I thought up once. He also has a dash tactical except it would be almost completely horizontally and and would mainly be used to dodge while being fired upon. I honestly think a dash character is oils be so much fun to play around with, Fuchs would be cool to see in the game
Honestly, I LOVE HIM He is more flexible but also has a team-based ability which I really like cause I don't want to be stuck in a building while others are camping it Also I think he should become temporarily invisible because his dashes are quite slow and so others team can easily kill him while tunneling. But overall he is an amazing character and quite game changing!
ive always wanted a legend with this exact type of dash ability(5-15 meters depending on the type) but in my concept the ultimate is similar to bloodhound as in you run faster, get more chargers, your ability recharges quicker and your punches do more damage(i was debating wall running), and the passive is the ability to use his knockdown shield when alive by aiming down sights while not holding a weapon(the other was that he retains momentum better so things like starting to run would be quicker), he was supposed to be mobility mixed with a mini tank, but we got Newcastle now so it's close enough i guess (also his lore is that he comes from another universe where phase tech was used in the war, but this caused the destruction of his universe so he was warped into the void and got spat out in our current apex universe(which is the reason he can dash cause he has void powers like wraith), where after the war blisk found him and trained him to be a ruthless and stong killer/assassin/world eater and then since he got injured badly he was put into the apex games to regain his strength and practice his skill, this also is a way for tf3 to come out, since they have a new set of predators, they can bring jack cooper back and he will fight alongside the predators(and you will be able to choose with predator you play the sstory with))
two things make the animation for the first dash the same speed but then make it faster if you do a second dash, for the ult increase the distance between each dash and get rid of majority of the delay
Hear me out mokey ! Legend : idk ( since we don't have artists in the game ) This character has a violin. Tactical : while playing a brief note from his violin, it shoots a tunnel-like thing ( like seer ) where anyone hit gets dislocated from his teammates ( which simply means that they dont get their team wallhacks names ect ... ) And it activates friendly fire. All this for a brief 5 secondes. Ultimate: a dome ( like seer again ) which does exactly the same thing, except that it's inside a certain radius ( the dome )... Everyone inside will get dislocated from their team and will have to think twice before shooting anyone... This one lasts as long as seer's ult, but has less coverage. Passive : you guys suggest 😁 Ultimate :
Since he's associated with Richter and he's is a Cloak Pilot, why not give him the cloak technology as his ultimate instead, granted that you would need to balance that out. You can keep the tactical as the same; When you press on it while pressing in a particular direction, you get a short burst from the jetpack and you'll have a certain amount of charges for it (I was thinking 4) but when you activate his ultimate, it resets his tactical with a full amount of charges but when you use it now, it also makes you invisible for 2-3 seconds. It's in the theme of a grey fox, on how they can blend in and camouflage themselves. There will be an audio indicator for when you go in and out of invisibility (as well as a slight visual delay on the jetpack). Scan abilities can still see you, of course. For the passive, how about you get a sprint boost when using certain guns, like how rampart has increased reload speed and magazine size when using LMGs. This is in par with a red fox on how they rely on their speed to hunt their prey. You can give him like a holster and running speed when using SMGs.
I think what would be cool for his ult is if instead of making a tunnel that teleports people, he could have the same tunnel but instead it's more of a grav cannon that launches people out of the end of the tunnel in the direction that the tunnel is facing.

I actually really love this character. If they don't at least make a very similar character with a dash I'm gonna be mad. I also love the ultimate because it's like a wraith portal but it can go upwards way easier. The ult also seems way more versatile. 10/10 would main

Hey man, you probably wont see this but i just wanna say awesome work. Its insane how far you've come, from satisfying grapple slingshots (which are what got me into apex in the first place) to designing your own legend, that a respawn developer made a proof of concept of.
My Character Idea: Ragnar | Cyberpunk/Viking aesthetic. Mads Mikkelsen style voice. Home world Talos but adopted by syndicate mercenaries. Medium size male with white/grey braided top knot and long beard. Ram head pauldron on one shoulder. Large Midgard Serpent tattoo. Man of few words, stern, guarded, but strangely approachable and unquestionably dependable. You want him to like you, making him laugh is a worthwhile endeavour. Passive: Rally - Upon getting kill credit he gains 1 cell charge to his shield. On performing a finisher, blows his horn adding 1 cell charge to teammates’ shields. Tactical: Seismic Slam - Ragnar grasps a device and punches the ground sending a linear shockwave forward that does 20hp damage to anyone in its path. Also delays revival or item use by 1 second and will set off traps and damage objects. Ultimate: Vanguard - Ragnar dips his shoulder to generate a shield from his pauldron and charges in the target direction. Breaks doors, does 30 damage to anything in his path, and leaves a blue speed boost trail.
I was chatting w a friend. If there was a game mode in which people could exchange or drop tactical ie that would be dope. Imagine using your ult and then stealing someone else’s fully charged ult after killing them!!! And a character who’s passive could be running as fast as you can forward in any direction. Would be dope, imagine running backward full speed sliding while shooting behind yourself. Adds a crazy element if you can differentiate the analogs and have as full function as that. May even break the game
i think its almost perfect bc i think alot of respawn makes characters not based on skill, more based on just pure evasive manuevers and this would fit perfectly in good movement
i think it would be cool if the tunnels were like rivers in the sense that you get pushed along the current but can leave at any time. that way, you are pushed towards the end of the tunnel but can jump out at any time. for an example, imagine if at any moment while travelling inside a wraith portal, you could leave it with a small boost pushing you out
Honestly, it's cool. The idea of a movement legend that mainly (even the ultimate in a way) goes off of movement, I do however think some things can be changed. I think the passive could temporarily INCREASE any kind of momentum, perhaps after a down or full kill (maybe assist kills can count) OR temporarily increase momentum after using your tactical, speaking of the tactical, I think it would work amazingly well if it worked as a BIG BOOST of momentum, and not just a normal dash, for example, if you were to use it while facing upwards, the tactical would fling you upwards, like a jump pad. The tactical would be on a cooldown depending on how far you went, and with the fact that you have two, let's say the max time would be 15 to maybe 18 seconds (IDK what the usual max time is on tactical cooldowns I just thought it sounded like a fair time). Now for the ultimate, I actually believe it would work the same way as the portals from- well portal! What I mean by that is your velocity would increase by the time in the phase-tunnel as it does in Portal. It will go off of YOUR momentum BEFORE entering, for example, did you perhaps SLIDE into the phase-tunnel? well, you're gonna be shot out of the other end faster than others, Did you maybe use a JUMP PAD before making the phase-tunnel (that meaning jumping on a pad then activating and creating the tunnel)? well, you and others will get more air time. That's honestly all I have to say about it, the idea is still cool and the legend look is simple yet workable. Those were just my ideas for it, hope it maybe helps and makes sense (spelling errors may have happened, sorry)
Mokey you have great thinking process about this legend, I hope maybe there will be more testing or more devs see this because it fox would be cool to play( I also love that fox doesn’t have a small hit box kinda balances the movement so you can still shoot him while he’s dashin
I think keeping the ult like that is enough just so that its not the end-all-be-all movement character. The dashes seem super fun, i can imagine the possible roll outs coming out of spawn in arenas
Your living my dream man ive always been talking about legends ideas i have one thats inspired by caveira and his passive would be that the sound he makes is reduced(not completely) his ability is equiping a silencer on one oh his weapons and his ult he becomes silent when he walks he has his silencer equiped and he can hear better. Anyway im happy for you:)
his ult and tactical, need some inivicble frame between, or the ultimate don't need to be 5 being out, it can be 3 or 2 or in "bloodhound state" that gives him free 5 charge of his own tactical(if he didn't use it, the ult is expired), by pressing the ult again to finish the ult and finish the position(his ult make all his tactical wind linked together creating sucking path), the idea is like rocklee or gai from naruto, air kick. both tactical and ultimate create small wind sucking area, that will suck squad mates or enemy to the direction he is activing it. his passive probably something going to do with the "wind", like leaving small wind after slide (max 1) giving him slight speed boost for 0.5 to 1 sec, the wind persist for short duration and squad mates can step on it like step on magie ultimate speed boost balls. i mean ball. but the wind is floating, so squad can get it in the air and get slight pulling force, but not as absolute and strong as his tactical or ultimate. i love the idea of more moving legend, love u monkey!
I think this is a really cool concept, and if I’m gonna be honest fox would be my main or one of my most used legends because I love movement characters
Honestly to god. If this legend came to the game I'd main them almost immediately. I love close range combat. So this entire concept is perfect for how I play. I really hope apex legends makes this legend and puts it in the game.
You could make it that you can crouch to get through the tunnel so it doesn’t fully block paths off but still annoying I love the concept of this legend, hope they put something like this in the game
To be honest, I am a character designer and had a similar idea for a dash ability! I have nothing to say on your design but its very nice. The abilities are unique of yours, great job on the work and the nice little thing about the backstory. I know my chances are low but i would love to share YOU a design of mine, see what you think about it.
Well that guy looks like middle of Octane-Wraith-Ash triangle and would be great adding if some of them were missing. But i'd like to see legends with some unique mechanics. They are harder to invent and balance, but refreshes meta much more.
I liked this concept in the original video, and it's great to see it fleshed out. I think that the passive needs a bit more work just to decide exactly what about slides it will improve. No slide fatigue might be too powerful, but I like the idea of a boosted slide-jump.
It would be so cool to see what People would come Up with using his Ult! It could possibly be a straight counter to Gibby (if enemy team couldn't use the dash platforms).

Also to balance the ult i would recommend making it last a bit longer than ash's ult and less than wraith's. Wish the dev's would actually buy your concept . You should send this video to one of them.

some interesting concepts I had based off this idea. Imagine if the legend was based around the thrusters that every legend has for landing to keep them from breaking their legs. For example those small dashes where he just waves his hands could instead be the legend 'overloading' those thrusters to get brief zips of speed in random directions that slow down at the end. Could also explain how their slide mechanics work as well, the thrusters could give you speed boosts while sliding and you can slide with more versatility, up hills, with no momentum, ect. Not for too long and not TOO fast of course. Maybe he has to pull some kind of ripcord located on his back which makes it so he cant ADS or shoot whatsoever when overloading that thruster. The ult could also reflect that concept a bit more too.

There's one issue I could see happening with him that would make him absolutely awful to play against. Considering he can block paths and doors with his ultimate, playing against him on maps like olympus or certain parts of kings canyon would be awful - he could essentially use his ultimate to block paths and doors, put the exit somewhere off the map and then use his dash tactical to get back on the ground. As a result anyone caught in the rift would 100% die after taking the rift. Not even Wraith can set up traps like that. And the only counterplay to it would be valk, loba, pathfinder, ash and sometimes newcastle. The possible balancing would be that he can't use his tactical after using his ultimate for a few seconds so he can't set up instant death traps like that lol.
I like him a lot tho. Could see him being played with legends like caustic so you can just straight up suck people into a room full of traps. I would love that lol

No point making his tac nerfed that just slows game play and well he is suppose to be all about movement so instead of putting a wraith Q timer on his Q just make his ult last for like 6 seconds. I still get wraith ported off cliffs to this day so it won’t make a difference nerfing his q just make it so his ult can’t block off tunnels for a long time or make it so you can push out sides ways at any point like horizons Q you don’t need to ride it all the way to the top?

His ultimate is such a good idea, but having more than two or three "dashes" to create a blocking fast-travel tunnel is a bit too broken, as this immediately reduces the point of positioning when you can simply dash rotate into any location regardless of height with little to no punishment (and this really just feels like an ash ult 1.1). Imo two to three (max) really long dashes while being vulnerable during the dashes sounds workable, and players traveling through the tunnel should be as trackable (and vulnerable) as someone leaping off of an Octane Pad.
The tactical is a neat concept though, still wouldn't give him more than maybe two to three dashes. His initial speed should not be more than what a Pathy can get without the penalty of being slow at startup, so if it really has to be super-fast upon button press, I'd cap the burst of speed at an octane stim maximum run-speed or bangalore passive speed boost.
Like the concept though, and the visuals really help get your ideas across.
you could balance the blinking by adding a longer initial charge up which after blinking, creates a period where you can blink again with no windup so it wouldnt be a hyper escape tool. Holding it of course would still do the longblink
Concept: cryo based legend
Passive: can freeze doors, crates and respawn beacons for a period of time
Tactical: two charges, each charge creates a relatively small spire of ice that lifts them in the air, kind of like a horizon tactical but a third of the height and is both solid(climbable and destructible)
Ultimate: creates a large area of splash ice to the floor, all legends slide very far and very fast when they slide in this area (I am thinking slightly larger in area than caustic’s gas grenade) thoughts?
Amazing concept. I feel a good way to both strengthen his ult would be to make the ult have more "dashes" by how long you keep it or by which ring you're in i.e if your in ring 3 you get 5 jumps, ring 4 you get 7 etc. It'll obviously feel like a wraith ult but its a good hybrid of horizon q and wraith ult.

I find the no momentum dashes look very clunky. Even if he kept like 20% of his momentum it would feel less so
It’s a proof of concept. Give the creator a little credit. Imagine if Respawn got the hands on it in their engine. It would be entirely flushed out. This is just showing you the basic idea for it.

This is a very interesting idea for a character, but i think he is going to be in the same situation as valkyrie. since you have such big delay between your dash and pulling out your weapons. Are you planning on making this "indie developer makes a movement legend on it's own" a one time thing or for it to happen from time to time? It would be interesting (at least for me) to try do something similar with other concepts

Call sign: GEKKO
Passive: Swift Camo - If gekko stops moving for 6 seconds as long as he has a wall in his back he will automatically go invisible or camouflage to that wall for 3 seconds and after that his position will be revealed again for 6 seconds.. / Down side: His camo emits a sounds that people can hear in his proximity so people can know thats there is a gekko around them.
Tactical: Primal shift - When this ability is used gekko can crawl to walls with 50 percent increase of movement speed (yes... its hella fast) but since he will be using all of his limbs he cant use any guns, heal, grenades or any other things.
Ultimate: Metamorphosis - In this state gekkos suit goes to an over-drive allowing him to wall-run without falling (as long as the ability is active) duration: 30 seconds. Gekko can cancel the wall run by simply jumping again.
Back story: pascals family is kindda like lifelines and octanes family but instead they are NOT renowned or famous across the outlands they are a small company whos developing stealth technology and assassination work behind the curtain they are desperate to make their name and send pascal to the Apex games.
his ult feels like an air draft tunnel. what if instead of adding more dashes he just moves really fast in any direction and leaves an air draft that others can follow. you can be shot in the air draft. you can't shoot while in the air draft but can exit sliding at anytime. on flat surfaces it'll act like a power sprint for quick distance.

the passive seems very op. also wallrunning would not fit in this game. maybe the passive could be higher jumps? for the tactical it sounds like kay/o from valorant. also we already have bloodhound which is basically the same. maybe the tactile could be a short period where you can double jump and get extra speed from slides and slide jumps kinda like octanes ult but less powerful. and for the ultimate maybe u get what you have in the tactical but also an octane level speed boost and no fall stun like horizon.

Just the idea of dashing back and forth in front of a doorway and looping the exit with the entrance is hilarious.

One problem that I find with his ultimate is that, a player will not necessarily use all 5 of their dashes in succession. What happens if they use 3 dashes, and then 2 later on?
Does the portal stretch out in the distance they traveled by foot in that time period (between their 3rd and 5th dash?)
I feel, a better alternative would be, making multiple tunnels, this would kind of differentiate him from other repositioning legends like wraith portal or ash or even octane who can only go for a to b (obviously octane is also limited in certain ways).
Now, what I mean by multiple tunnels is that, imagine I am using this legend, fox.
I use his ultimate, and dash thrice to get from the first floor to the second floor of a building.
Now, I walk some distance, to the other end of the room and out the door, and use the remaining two dashes.
This could create 2 tunnels, from the initial starting dash to dash number 3, and then from the starting position of the 4th dash to the 5th dash.
So, basically, the tunnel is made only between immediately successive dashes, and if you give a certain amount of time between dashes, the tunnel resets and starts over again from your next dash.
Hopefully I was able to explain it well, English is not my first language haha..
You could add as part of the lore that he modifies his jump pack to allow the dashes
so he could use his ult for cover in the open field too, and if u could jump on top of the tunnel and not go inside it, it would also give a huge height advantage. That ult is way too versatile and op lol

I can see Fox being a locked pick with teams that focus on entrapment.
Such teams would be like Caustic, Fox, and Watson. Watson places her fencing, Caustic places his traps, and Fox creates a tunnel to the trap.
I can also see Fox playing a big role in more mobility based groups such as a Pathfinder, Octane, and Fox.
However, where I see the most trouble with Fox is if he's in a pick with Loba, Wraith, or Ash.
make the dash bubbles shootable so people dont get thrown off the map, or trapped in a room while the ring closes... and you're looking at a solid legend ... complete with lore potential
So Fox gave me an idea for a character.
The pilot (from Titanfall 2, it can either be the Jack or just any other pilot)
Passive ability: Pilot Training.
Allows to perform wallrun. And quickly throwing grenades without holstering your weapon. (Simply pressing g, to choose grenade hold G)
Tactical ability: Void Cloak.
Allows to enter the void by using the device on the left hand.
Max time that can be spent in the void: 4 seconds
Cooldown: 10 seconds
Can be cancelled manually
Does not leaves the void trail after the player.
After leaving the void there will be a quick electrical sound that enemies may hear and a cooldown for taking out your weapons (like loba's cooldown after teleporting).
Ultimate ability: SERE kit
Cooldown 180 Seconds
Gives you a Smart Pistol MK5 with only 1 Magazine.
Magazine: 18 bullets
Max players locked: 1 (cant lock on multiple players at once)
Locks on life forms only
Damage: Can kill player with a purple shield if locked on head. Cracks the player with red shield and deals some damage to the health if locked on head.
Max lock on range: 10 meters
Cant lock on players in smoke/Nox Gas.
I think it would be cool to see Jack Cooper as a character in Apex, because this would improve lore and dialogues in the game considering that Jack Cooper knows every legend's abilities.
Love this concept and I understand how much work goes into making even something like a prototype, big respect for that. Just some ideas I had while watching your video were, for his ultimate instead of multiple dashes it could just be one but you are in control of where you're going, something of a matchup between valkyries flying ability and wraiths portal however still keeping that tunnel concept. Also having the possiblity of making the tunnel shorter by exiting the ability would also be nice. Another thing I was imagining was when he climbs a wall you could use his tactical to boost up or to the side horizontal or diagonal making him harder to hit when climbing, and depending on how many boosts you have you could scale a really high wall or maybe turn a corner really fast on a building when in trouble. Again really cool character design and I can't wait to see the next one 👍.
Honestly I think the team play and solo play would make this character meta. Being able to manage the dashes between gun fights would allow you to really mow someone down and then change your position in a near instant breaking enemy aim. Not only that but you could really turn the tide of battle by running away and then jumping and back dashing to get behind a pursuing enemy.
The tunnel being able to be used from any contact point is genius and honestly could be a real life saver because seeing a wraith gain speed boosts from her ult and tactical to out run a store but then you have to sit there and wait for it to finish in order to use it can hurt you bad or if a team is charging you and you need to escape the portal might not come in time but the tunnel can have you go through immediately and from anywhere so your Allie’s aren’t waiting on you at all.
I could see this being really good with Horizon because being able to take the lift then use your ult dashes to reach a higher place or give your team more momentum when jumping off the lift would be great.
Another good thing about the dashes is that you can really change your mind about committing to a fight. Like if you to a gravity lift but it would’ve thrown you into a bad spot you could dash back and not deal with the consequences of your actions lol
I've started writing a book with a character that was being "supported" by the goddess Bia (roman god of energy) and had a lot of similar concepts as this character. His name was Kinei, based on Kinesthesia or "learn by doing" and kinetic energy.
It'd be really fun to see a more direct approach to a mobility character who physically moves themselves around in their environment in order to get things done. Maybe the passive can also make their mobility stronger when they're healthier (plus additional movement with full health + shield?) so there's an incentive to approach fights in ways that would physically get you in trouble less (from above, from behind, etc.)
This is a lot like a character I thought up once. He also has a dash tactical except it would be almost completely horizontally and and would mainly be used to dodge while being fired upon.
I honestly think a dash character is oils be so much fun to play around with, Fuchs would be cool to see in the game

Also I think he should become temporarily invisible because his dashes are quite slow and so others team can easily kill him while tunneling. But overall he is an amazing character and quite game changing!
ive always wanted a legend with this exact type of dash ability(5-15 meters depending on the type) but in my concept the ultimate is similar to bloodhound as in you run faster, get more chargers, your ability recharges quicker and your punches do more damage(i was debating wall running), and the passive is the ability to use his knockdown shield when alive by aiming down sights while not holding a weapon(the other was that he retains momentum better so things like starting to run would be quicker), he was supposed to be mobility mixed with a mini tank, but we got Newcastle now so it's close enough i guess (also his lore is that he comes from another universe where phase tech was used in the war, but this caused the destruction of his universe so he was warped into the void and got spat out in our current apex universe(which is the reason he can dash cause he has void powers like wraith), where after the war blisk found him and trained him to be a ruthless and stong killer/assassin/world eater and then since he got injured badly he was put into the apex games to regain his strength and practice his skill, this also is a way for tf3 to come out, since they have a new set of predators, they can bring jack cooper back and he will fight alongside the predators(and you will be able to choose with predator you play the sstory with))
two things make the animation for the first dash the same speed but then make it faster if you do a second dash, for the ult increase the distance between each dash and get rid of majority of the delay

This character has a violin.
Tactical : while playing a brief note from his violin, it shoots a tunnel-like thing ( like seer ) where anyone hit gets dislocated from his teammates ( which simply means that they dont get their team wallhacks names ect ... ) And it activates friendly fire. All this for a brief 5 secondes.
Ultimate: a dome ( like seer again ) which does exactly the same thing, except that it's inside a certain radius ( the dome )...
Everyone inside will get dislocated from their team and will have to think twice before shooting anyone... This one lasts as long as seer's ult, but has less coverage.

Looking at his Ultimate, the only thing on my mind: THE LOOP
Since he's associated with Richter and he's is a Cloak Pilot, why not give him the cloak technology as his ultimate instead, granted that you would need to balance that out. You can keep the tactical as the same; When you press on it while pressing in a particular direction, you get a short burst from the jetpack and you'll have a certain amount of charges for it (I was thinking 4) but when you activate his ultimate, it resets his tactical with a full amount of charges but when you use it now, it also makes you invisible for 2-3 seconds. It's in the theme of a grey fox, on how they can blend in and camouflage themselves. There will be an audio indicator for when you go in and out of invisibility (as well as a slight visual delay on the jetpack). Scan abilities can still see you, of course. For the passive, how about you get a sprint boost when using certain guns, like how rampart has increased reload speed and magazine size when using LMGs. This is in par with a red fox on how they rely on their speed to hunt their prey. You can give him like a holster and running speed when using SMGs.
I think what would be cool for his ult is if instead of making a tunnel that teleports people, he could have the same tunnel but instead it's more of a grav cannon that launches people out of the end of the tunnel in the direction that the tunnel is facing.

Hey man, you probably wont see this but i just wanna say awesome work. Its insane how far you've come, from satisfying grapple slingshots (which are what got me into apex in the first place) to designing your own legend, that a respawn developer made a proof of concept of.
My Character Idea:
Ragnar | Cyberpunk/Viking aesthetic. Mads Mikkelsen style voice.
Home world Talos but adopted by syndicate mercenaries. Medium size male with white/grey braided top knot and long beard. Ram head pauldron on one shoulder. Large Midgard Serpent tattoo.
Man of few words, stern, guarded, but strangely approachable and unquestionably dependable. You want him to like you, making him laugh is a worthwhile endeavour.
Passive: Rally - Upon getting kill credit he gains 1 cell charge to his shield. On performing a finisher, blows his horn adding 1 cell charge to teammates’ shields.
Tactical: Seismic Slam - Ragnar grasps a device and punches the ground sending a linear shockwave forward that does 20hp damage to anyone in its path. Also delays revival or item use by 1 second and will set off traps and damage objects.
Ultimate: Vanguard - Ragnar dips his shoulder to generate a shield from his pauldron and charges in the target direction. Breaks doors, does 30 damage to anything in his path, and leaves a blue speed boost trail.
I was chatting w a friend. If there was a game mode in which people could exchange or drop tactical ie that would be dope. Imagine using your ult and then stealing someone else’s fully charged ult after killing them!!! And a character who’s passive could be running as fast as you can forward in any direction. Would be dope, imagine running backward full speed sliding while shooting behind yourself. Adds a crazy element if you can differentiate the analogs and have as full function as that. May even break the game
i think its almost perfect bc i think alot of respawn makes characters not based on skill, more based on just pure evasive manuevers and this would fit perfectly in good movement
i think it would be cool if the tunnels were like rivers in the sense that you get pushed along the current but can leave at any time. that way, you are pushed towards the end of the tunnel but can jump out at any time. for an example, imagine if at any moment while travelling inside a wraith portal, you could leave it with a small boost pushing you out

Honestly, it's cool. The idea of a movement legend that mainly (even the ultimate in a way) goes off of movement, I do however think some things can be changed. I think the passive could temporarily INCREASE any kind of momentum, perhaps after a down or full kill (maybe assist kills can count) OR temporarily increase momentum after using your tactical, speaking of the tactical, I think it would work amazingly well if it worked as a BIG BOOST of momentum, and not just a normal dash, for example, if you were to use it while facing upwards, the tactical would fling you upwards, like a jump pad. The tactical would be on a cooldown depending on how far you went, and with the fact that you have two, let's say the max time would be 15 to maybe 18 seconds (IDK what the usual max time is on tactical cooldowns I just thought it sounded like a fair time). Now for the ultimate, I actually believe it would work the same way as the portals from- well portal! What I mean by that is your velocity would increase by the time in the phase-tunnel as it does in Portal. It will go off of YOUR momentum BEFORE entering, for example, did you perhaps SLIDE into the phase-tunnel? well, you're gonna be shot out of the other end faster than others, Did you maybe use a JUMP PAD before making the phase-tunnel (that meaning jumping on a pad then activating and creating the tunnel)? well, you and others will get more air time. That's honestly all I have to say about it, the idea is still cool and the legend look is simple yet workable. Those were just my ideas for it, hope it maybe helps and makes sense (spelling errors may have happened, sorry)
Mokey you have great thinking process about this legend, I hope maybe there will be more testing or more devs see this because it fox would be cool to play( I also love that fox doesn’t have a small hit box kinda balances the movement so you can still shoot him while he’s dashin
I think having that tactical and passive on the same legend is a lil OP, but his tactical sounds so fun with a lot of expression
I think keeping the ult like that is enough just so that its not the end-all-be-all movement character. The dashes seem super fun, i can imagine the possible roll outs coming out of spawn in arenas
Your living my dream man ive always been talking about legends ideas i have one thats inspired by caveira and his passive would be that the sound he makes is reduced(not completely) his ability is equiping a silencer on one oh his weapons and his ult he becomes silent when he walks he has his silencer equiped and he can hear better. Anyway im happy for you:)
his ult and tactical, need some inivicble frame between, or the ultimate don't need to be 5 being out, it can be 3 or 2 or in "bloodhound state" that gives him free 5 charge of his own tactical(if he didn't use it, the ult is expired), by pressing the ult again to finish the ult and finish the position(his ult make all his tactical wind linked together creating sucking path),
the idea is like rocklee or gai from naruto, air kick. both tactical and ultimate create small wind sucking area, that will suck squad mates or enemy to the direction he is activing it. his passive probably something going to do with the "wind", like leaving small wind after slide (max 1) giving him slight speed boost for 0.5 to 1 sec, the wind persist for short duration and squad mates can step on it like step on magie ultimate speed boost balls. i mean ball. but the wind is floating, so squad can get it in the air and get slight pulling force, but not as absolute and strong as his tactical or ultimate.

I think this is a really cool concept, and if I’m gonna be honest fox would be my main or one of my most used legends because I love movement characters
Honestly to god. If this legend came to the game I'd main them almost immediately. I love close range combat. So this entire concept is perfect for how I play. I really hope apex legends makes this legend and puts it in the game.

You could make it that you can crouch to get through the tunnel so it doesn’t fully block paths off but still annoying

To be honest, I am a character designer and had a similar idea for a dash ability! I have nothing to say on your design but its very nice. The abilities are unique of yours, great job on the work and the nice little thing about the backstory.

Well that guy looks like middle of Octane-Wraith-Ash triangle and would be great adding if some of them were missing. But i'd like to see legends with some unique mechanics. They are harder to invent and balance, but refreshes meta much more.

I liked this concept in the original video, and it's great to see it fleshed out. I think that the passive needs a bit more work just to decide exactly what about slides it will improve. No slide fatigue might be too powerful, but I like the idea of a boosted slide-jump.
It would be so cool to see what People would come Up with using his Ult!
It could possibly be a straight counter to Gibby (if enemy team couldn't use the dash platforms).

Not been able to find a legend that let's me have such an experience, yet.
