      I feel like giving the character one or two double jumps as the tactical on a 15-20 second cooldown would work really well.

      Most of the time us gamers read patch notes, and kind of draw our own conclusions, so it was great to hear it from the perspective of a dev. I would love to see more stuff like this with the devs involved.

      @Josh If his whole kit is movement tech, then it is not a very good design and does not match the rest of the legends. All legends with movement abilities have at least one ability that is not movement based (Octane’s health regen, Path’s scan regen, Valk’s rockets, etc)

      Yea, especially the trip wire tac, that in it of itself gave me like BO3 trip wire vibes, just like little sticks you throw on the ground for a lazer grid or whatever and then being able to cause them to smoke out from a distance

    Honestly, putting the crazy mobility on an ultimate makes sense. However, seeing that Vantage has the capability to use her ultimate before it’s fully charged and stow it to keep charge, why not apply it to Zentra?
    Give Zentra a 10 second ultimate where he goes full pilot mode but with no weapon. Each second is 10% of your ultimate but it can be used whenever instead of waiting for a full charge. Since you can disable your ultimate it can be used in bursts in order to take high ground, chase a target or escape. This rewards high skill by allowing the efficient player to keep ultimate charge by taking the shortest route and grants leniency to players who may need that extra time. I could see an ultimate like this being on a 60 second cool-down (6 seconds of regular play = 1 second of crazy amped movement)

      That's a good idea but, then you could keep using it to keep chasing or getting the advantage of go up or around corners then disabling it. Basically spamming it when you have about a full cooldown. So there might be some downtime to it or a animation into and out of said ultimate

      @@KEWL-sn6yh very good point. Looking at it now, I realise it has to be balanced against abilities of other mobility legends. It would have to have some serious changes before it makes it to the live game but I don’t really have the insight to know what Zentra would need. Your recommendations were great additions imo.
      I’d absolutely love it if Mokey’s creation made it to the live game tho

      Forethought is the biggest thing for character creation is needed.

      I didn't first point he made and not going with 100% of the idea is cuz controller players would have a hard time tracking......the most dumbest thing i heard. With all the mechanics in apex with speed boosting tap strafing and all that. Controller players have a easy time tracking you. Shows the incompetence he has with his own game

    I agree with the respawn developers point on the ultimate, but I would add that instead of NO gun, you get a pulse blade that you can throw for high damage which allows the legend to choose between "Chase" or "Escape". Also adds to the pilot theme, which might be cool?

      What he means by "chase" or "escape" is that when you use it, you have to be using it to get closer, or to get further away. You aren't supposed to be able to deal damage during it because otherwise that would be neither, it would go from a movement option to something that just makes gunfights unreasonably easy.
      maybe a pulse blade could be someone else's thing, since we already have grapples, phase shift, holo, etc. as their own entire character, and making the pulse blade just a side note of a character would go away from what they've already done with tacticals.

      I feel like a special melee weapon would work well for it, maybe giving you the knife from the SERE kit since Zentra is fascinated with pilot tech? Then you could chase down enemies for a melee kill that immediately plays a unique execution animation that's quicker than the normal ones without having to knock down the person, but it can still be interrupted, so running into a group to people with it would be a death sentence

      @@araccoonstolemyradiator Yeah, I get your point. I think that maybe giving him the pulse blade would be slight overkill, but for a shooter game it seems kind of unintuitive to have an ability that rids you of your ability to shoot at all. Imagine you do chase an enemy down, then what? You can't use anything until your ability cools down, so either you need the option to cancel it or a second option.
      Maybe the pulse blade does no damage but instead de buffs and marks their location for enemies. Kinda similar to Rev.
      Either way I think that the pulse blade wouldn't really work for a single character, there's just so many characters with a similar but more effective ability. It was never even that useful in TF2 except for the occasional one shot kill.

    The legend sounds really cool and I loved what Brian had about this. This is the kinda stuff I wish they could do more of and be more open about with the fans but some people are just toxic or believe that they pros know more about the game then developers.
    I always appreciate you, Boom and the others who have good relationships with the dev team and can hang out and chat with them

    I love the devs insight into it, like he's right if apex players had a legend who could do stuff like this just whenever they wanted it'd be bad and there'd be no counter play. But the idea of making "doing pilot shit" into an ultimate I think is absolutely fucking goated. Like make it loud, flashy, and readable in a way that makes everyone know this person is about to start moving around like crazy. I fucking love it and I hope we see it someday.

    What would be interesting is instead of activating wall running with the ability it toggles between passives, either double jump or wall run. The idea of limited double jumps should definitely be kept and maybe while on the wall you have either even less accuracy or need to hold onto the wall with both hands (since the character isn’t a true pilot with all the skills)

      Ooooh i really like the toggling between passives idea. Like how Legion has a dedicated ability that only switches between fire modes. That's be really unique. The problem in this case is that Wallrunning without doublejump becomes so insanely limited. You couldn't make enough distance between most buildings and couldn't Wallrun around corners

      @@Mokeysniper what about giving the toggle multiple charges? Similar to Wattson, it could have X amount of charges and each charge takes however long to cool down. That way you can do *some* crazy shit but it's not super crazy/super limited. Balancing could happen through the number of charges, possible toggle animation, and length of cooldown

      I've always wanted to see a legend that lets you pick the abilities. So, for this, you could pick between the passives of being able to double jump, or being able to wallrun. It would be part of your settings, so you could change it mid-match, but not mid-fight.

    I feel like using the electric smoke would feel more authentic then just an explosion and smoke, honestly it was a great part of Titian fall in both a titan and pilot, and it would fit the movement and defense that you wanted to hit

    Hearing the dev's reasoning is interesting but also somewhat sad for me. I can't fully explain it but it makes me believe that if reaspawn ever makes titan fall 3, it won't be what we want(i.e. movement shooter) especially since most of the people who worked on titanfall 2 don't work at reaspawn anymore, it would be slow and more of a boots on the ground shooter. Again I can't fully explain why.

      They can't be bothered to fix Titanfall 1 and 2 servers for what, 3 years now? (Despite no DDOS attacks you'll be lucky to complete one match before the servers time out) They just don't give a shit about their old players. Any new games will be Apex Legends centered.

      I don't think that's what the dev was trying to imply at all. The point that they were trying to make was that the Titanfall games and Apex are their own things, and are widely different. It's not a matter of them not wanting to put a Titanfall-like legend in the game, it's just that it wouldn't work.

      Apex movement is severely limited compared to titanfall, you can’t compare the devs, he was looking at the kit with an apex perspective in mind where characters with literally 0 movement abilities exist

    So essentially the dev's remarks were:
    1. Every ability should be readable (and counterable).
    2. Every increase in power should come with a drawback/cost
    3. The design of movement should be tied to a verb (escape or chase down but not obliterate). (Probably applies to every ability in some sense).
    The dev's redesign was:
    1. Ultimate: Pilot mode. Do awesome pilot shit. No gun.
    2. tactical: trip wire. Use it to trick/trap/chase enemies.
    And I think that TitanFall 2 movement is so unreadable that it should come with an enormous drawback/cost (such as on an ultimate and no way to damage enemies). But that's also the way to achieve it: give it a huge, enormous drawback and put it on an ult. Then make the tac and passive reasonably decent.

      With the new different ways ult works like Rampart and it seems Vantage as well, the ult the dev suggested could be a meter that ticks up when charging and ticks down when in use and is togglable. No guns but you can use it often enough to chase or reposition. But definitely no gun and have a very readable trail like Wraith, Loba, Octane or Ash.
      If Pilot mode already keeps momentum then double jump is overkill at that point and better players will just ruin other legends. It needs to be different.

    What about making the movement passive only active when you have your guns holstered? This legend isn't a seasoned pilot and may need both hands to wall run effectively. Maybe even when not in the effect of the ultimate it has a speed cap, or some other restriction, but while in the ultimate it makes a noise or visual cue (or both) that you're going into "nonsense mode" and allows you to go past those limits

    what he said about the ultimate is what im thinking revenant's ultimate should be reworked into. instead of a totem, he should simply become a shadow with wallrunning and double jumping (basically shadow monster), with no weapons and half health, and as soon you get shot down as a shadow you turn back into normal rev but maybe no shields..
    Its just that revenant's current ultimate makes no sense, gameplay wise AND lore wise and the shadow monsters are already in the game in halloween LTM..

      Oh yeah lemme just use my ult which disables my shields, halves my health and disables my weapons.
      In shadow mode revenant is already squishy.
      Hes the tallest legend thus he has the tallest hitbox so hes already not easy to play for average players. (yes this is confirmed)

      @@Ghxst_2023 parameters like health and such could always be tweaked. having no weapons isnt good but a two hit melee doesn't sound too bad either and I believe his hitbox would be compensated by speed and agility. You also dont have to rely on your teammates with this ult, but a skilled player could coordinate with their team so that they can get closer to the enemy. There's many ways to make this ult op, i presented the idea as a little bit weak on purpose to avoid any bias i have towards rev.

      @@vanzwho854 Rev cant wall bounce like most of the other legends, granted he can climb to the top of pretty much any building in game but hes super vulnerable, for revs ult id personally say make it just for him and bc he only goes off health in shadowform give him a 15 or 20% damage reduction bc most times he barely cracks a shield befofd getting beamed and sent back. Ive also had team mates destroy my totem while im using it

    i really loved brian's breakdown of the character and the whole system that goes into bringing new legends to the game. it's always fascinating to hear more about the development process and the work that is put in to make sure a kit is perfectly balanced for the video game that apex is. everything he said certainly makes sense to a degree, even if it is painful to hear that we'll probably never get the unlimited wall-hopping, human-torpedo goodness that titanfall offers. great video! and mad respect for putting so much thought and detail into such a sweet legend design. that splash art is sick!

    The most insane part of this is how the dev mentioned that the new legend (vantage) already had a concept kit 3 years ago. The respawn dev team needs more respect from the community tbh.

      @@zorpglorp I think it might be. There may be ways that the abilities could be used in ways they aren't meant to be, even though it's in the physics. Like when people put ramparts turret on cryptos drone. That wasn't exactly broken, just very overpowered.

    A tweak I'd probably make is to his trip-wire kit.
    Like the dev said, the wall running and unlimited double-jumping would become your ultimate, where you have your 60 seconds of crazy movement (but maybe where you lower your guns on the second jump, and during the initial contact with the wall when you grab on).
    With the trip-wires, instead of being a straight up explosion when triggered, they could release a small cloud of electric smoke like titans could do when a pilot jumped on. Except, they deal damage only once when triggered, almost like getting hit with a Maggie ultimate, and you don't get stunned for as long. The smoke clouds could be blue to differentiate them, or have little electric effects, and wouldn't last as long as Bangalore's.
    Placing trip-wires would also be similar to how Wattson's fences work. You choose two points, throw your devices down, and lasers connect them. What could make them different though is this ability to place them vertically, like from the floor to the ceiling. When a player walks through the laser, the devices you've set up shoot a canister at them that releases the electric smoke and stuns them. This way you don't have a network of posts and beams like Wattson does, but you could maybe have lasers zigzag across larger gaps.
    The last little change is how Zentra's ultimate and his trip-wires could work together. Normally, they would only trigger when an enemy crosses the laser, or if they shoot the planted devices once they're spotted. When using his ultimate however, Zentra has his pilot verification, and can remotely detonate connected trip-wire devices to create larger clouds that could not only stun anyone who enters them, but could also function as larger smokescreens if there are multiple devices all connected to each other.
    So while two devices with a laser across a stairwell could deter people from pushing through, three or four devices that are zigzagging upwards across the sides of a cave could completely block enemy vision (unless they have digital threats, etc.), and could be activated remotely while using Zentra's ult. This could lead to plays where an enemy is tailing you, you activate your ult and use the extra movement to put some distance between each other and move through a set of trip-wires, then detonate them to cut off their line of sight, as well as punishing them if they continue the chase by stunning them.
    Just some thoughts, love the concepts you've got here Mokey! Personally, Zentra is a legend I'd prefer to play more than your previous concept of Fuchs, he seems a lot more versatile.

    I like the developer’s idea of not being able to use you gun while wall running or double jumping, and it could even play into the lore of the character a bit. Since they are the son of a pilot they don’t have the same experience as a normal pilot. So while they can still wallrun they haven’t learned to use a gun while doing so. If that makes any sense.

    One cool idea I had is where there is a stamina meter which both the wall run and double jump shares, and the tactical over charges it, refuelling it and doubling the amount and recharge

    The interesting part it, the way the dev describes the ultimate, is the exact way I've always thought revnants totem should be. Use the totem, no guns but you get shadow royal movement (without the super mele) I think
    That would work well with the lore of Rev and I think it would make him enjoyable again

    I once thought about some type of Pilot-Related-thing and came up with this:
    Passive: Better Jump-kit (a bit faster momentum you can gain from slides or faster "recharge" of slides)
    Active : Pulse blade (throws knife that scans area for short period of time, like, 6-10 seconds and 8-10 meters radius)
    Ultimate: Overclock mode (wall run and double jump for short period of time, you cannot use weapons, but gain stronger melee hit and still can use Active skill)
    What are your thoughts 'bout it?

      The only problem is that Pulse Blade is just Bloodhound, so there would need to be a different tactical from any TF2 ones. I think the tactical could be the same, but also with a addon of activating your helmet to see through smoke ( such as Bangalore smoke and you could also see your own smoke. )

    I love Brian's thoughts on it. What if the Pilot movement is the Ult like Brian said, and your jump kit has a set amount of "fuel" while the Ult is active. Wall running and double jumping would burn that fuel, like Valk with her passive. You could be able to activate and deactivate the Ult, the way Rampart can with Sheila, until you run out of fuel. Fuel does not recharge until you either run out, or choose to put your Ult back into a recharge state, like Rampart does with Sheila. Once Ult is used up, or manually set back to recharge, it can't be used again until Ult is fully recharged.

    Wall running/double jump as a tac that can be toggled on/off, with a slow HP drain when active, so your HP acts as the timer with more impact, a short cooldown to reactivate after toggle off so it can't be used constantly.

    My immediate first thoughts are this would be a fun legend. However an overpowered legend. The high skill cap would be something that made them fun, getting better and better as you play them. But the preservation of momentum over long distances I can see being a problem. Not to even mention the larger divide this legend could cause in the community of console vs pc with their kit being significantly better if you are able to use lurch/tap strafe mechanics.
    Edit: the dev more eloquently described the thoughts I had with the legend.

    To make him more readable, and give some team utility, i think his Q can work a bit like maggie's ult: you shoot/launch a device that latch on something and quickly erect a holographic wall (or a gravity pad) that anyone can use to wall run on that single area only (that includes teammates and enemies). This will allow his Q to be used in more open space and non-flat surfaces which are common in Apex. The scale will be different based on the surface it latches on (but should still have range limitation) and i think that's already enough to pull off some crazy moves and allow him to be more meaningful in a team environment, while informing other players of your move.
    His ult can be copy pasta from bloodhound in which your passive has reduced cooldown, same for Q or give it a number of stacks, and you run faster for the duration without being able to extend. It will synergy greatly with his kit as faster running means more velocity for the double jump passive, and his Q being more spammable means he can turn a small combat area into his jungle gym and everything will be super chaotic, or use it to do crazy escape/rotations.

    Small little idea to help with it :
    When they activate their tactical, they get a small little stream behind themselves, kind of like wraith when she is in the void. I feel like this would help people track them around better!
    Edit : Maybe there is a very short stream when they double jump as well?

    Backstory, amazing, ALL FOR THE 6-4!!! Love the lore. Gates’ kid joins the apex games as like a half pilot basically, love it love it love it!!! Then the abilities amazing, and the dev even had some good ideas too! The design is 20/10, I love everything about the idea and hope that one day we will see this cool dude in the games!!!     I came up with a pretty interesting concept for this legend :
    Passive : wallrunning
    Tactical : boost shoes, 30 second recharge, let you jump mid air for
    3 times.
    Ultimate : entering hyper piloting mode, 30 second duration, with increased movement speed, horizon passive and highlighting enemies for allies in your vision, effective distant is 300m, effect lasted 5 second after loosing vision on enemies.
    So for this concept, zentra is a legends capable of high mobility and outplay potential, making one of the best movement legend. The ultimate can be used as recon and flank to catch them off guard. This makes they relies heavily on gunplay and teamwork to unlock their full potential, but also capable of soloing, isolating 1vs3 if needed.

    Honestly respawn has to do this after they tweeted “titanfall is on our DNA”
    Also a suggestion: maybe something like monarchs core for the ult, upgrade your tactical cooldown, maybe even amped weapons for like 10 seconds. To counter this, ult accelerators only do about 15% and the cooldown is much longer than others to imply a more monarch style gameplay.
    Also an issue: apex kids will say titanfall stole from apex

    I have a legend idea
    Lynk (Support Legend)
    Passive: Enemies attacking a linked ally are highlighted for the other for a few seconds. If an ally downs an enemy while linked, that enemy is linked to them with a red stream that notifies you of their location until the link is broken or they are revived. Enemies reviving them are highlighted to allies linked.
    Tactical: Gain an aura that can link to an ally with a healing stream sharing health amongst each other. While linked to an ally, if they go down, Lynk can press this ability again to tug their body towards him. The further they are, the closer they're pulled to you. If Lynk goes down, the link is broken.
    Ultimate: Vicinity - Lynk creates a tower that pacifies everyone in the area and prevents anyone in the radius from being downed with the exception of storm damage. Lynk cannot take it down except by leaving its radius and destroying it.
    Yes an ally will be left out of the Lynk and its benefits but that's best for balancing and no Lynk would not be able to just turn his Ultimate off cause then you could just turn it off while someone is batting and beam them.

    This was really cool to see thought through :) could a way to address the readability/frontline issue be to only open up double jumps from a wall-run?
    Would require some shifting of where properties lie in the kit layout, but that feels like it could address that sort of issue while keeping the original goal intact?
    I do like the idea of making the movement extras dedicated to a tactical/ultimate for single purpose, but it really does kill that idea of consistent fluidity the prospect is aiming for xD

      perhaps shifting wallrun to the passive and making it stamina based, with double jump as the tactical (so a cd) which has to be initiated after having wallran but before touching the ground? This would be cool especially if they let you double jump after a wallbounce as well

    The only reasonable draw back to this legend would then be: this legends takes 100% more damage. You are impossible to hit, but if you are hit, it will hurt like a mf.

    My legend concept: Escape Style Robot, movement based.
    (Not tall like Pathy or Rev.)
    Name: N/A
    Passive: Off-Grid
    Can't be scanned by bloodhound, Seers hearbeat sensor or Valks "eye in the sky" includes Crypto.
    (This will shift the scan based meta, so you can run but ALSO hide.)
    Tactical: Trip Wire Snare
    Can place 2 of these down (doorways work best) that when an enemy activates it by walking over it. Their movement gets slowed 50%.
    (This will allow you to escape, especially in trios it doesn't allow you to get thirsted when your trying to get your teams banners and escape)
    Ult: Soldiers Best Friend
    Places a turret: Default is similar to a Rampage, but you can attach a weapon that you are carrying.
    (The idea is that, when you are getting chased you can create some distance... place this down and keep running. Because the turret won't last long without much ammo)
    I wanted this legend to be an escapee style robot. With a prisoner background. (Thats why he's an escape expert) He's similar to a simulacrum, like Rev. But he was put into robot form for his crimes ect. He wanted to escape to see his family again, especially his mom ❤ But to his knowledge its been years and years that have passed, and was then re-caught but forced to play in the Apex games so he could no longer escape the prisons. In the games he's not a evil guy like Rev, but is actually looking to create new bonds with legends and start a new "family" to fill that void that he's been feeling.
    (I want him to NOT be scannable, because robots don't really have a heartbeat or anything and he could have some really cool "incognito" tech installed. AND TO SHIFT THE SCAN META)

    i was thinking for the ult to be ticks that explode like in titanfall 2's storyline flow regulation gate mission
    these suck so much and while wallrunning, makes it pretty tough to get away from the ticks, granted these ticks move much slower to accommodate for the fact that you're not a pilot

    I really loved the idea of having a restriction on the double jumps, it makes it seem very viable and could be put into the game. Although I think you should make some changes to where you have to wait 1.5 sec to get the full double jump (like a jumping fatigue or how you need to wait to get a good slide). But the wallrunning seems it would be way too op, and I think it will need some sort of nerf. The way I would balance it is I would slow it down just a little bit, and you couldn't use your weapons while on it. And as soon as you pull out your weapon, you would cancel the wallrun. I would also make it that you could run on walls 3 times, and you can cancel anytime. And the cooldown would scale based on how many walls you jumped, like pathfinders grapple(20 sec|1 wall 25 sec|2 walls 30 sec|3 walls. The way you could fit this in the lore is that gates never trained him, and he trained himself, so he never got proper training and never knew how to properly use the Pilot gear. I loved the idea of using a titan ability as his ult, but Ion's tripwire cage didn't seem to fit because he is such an aggressive character it doesn't really fit him. And just overcharging his movement seems really boring to me. Instead I think it could be based off of the Monarch Titan. This could makes sense as it is the most technologically advanced titan and naturally Zentra would be more drawn toward it. The ability Zentra's ult could be based off of is the energy siphon. It would be a little bolt on his arm that Zentra could fire (with auto aim) at an enemy. It would take away 25 shield of the opponent and give Zentra and his allies a short shield regen (similar to Wattson's passive) and mark that opponent for 2.5 seconds, as well as increase Zentra's own speed similar to a Mad Maggie ult (This only increases Zentra's speed). Although it could only be used within a certain range (100-50m). This would make Zentra much more rush heavy and allow him to stay aggresive and have a little bit of an advantage in close combat. Overall great video Mokey and I can't wait to see Macro's video of this in full depth!👍
    (Also I think his Heirloom should be a data knife, maybe Gates's?)

    I thought of something regarding the character to further balance it for the live game: Make the wall-run your ultimate instead of the tactical. Once its activated, you have a new passive; When the timer for your ult starts (lets say the ult lasts 15 seconds), if you have your knife out you gain the ability to wall-run without the ability to shoot back, making it more a 'escape' or repositioning tool. You could argue that you can loose the Ult passive by taking out the gun entirely, but maybe the balancing act of it makes it a bit more balanced :)

    I don't think the ultimate fits the rest of Zentra's kit but I love the idea and I have a few ideas of how to make it better.
    1. He plants a spike into the ground(like valorant) and then the surrounding wattson like walls come up
    2. The walls are 2-3 times the height of wattson gates and act the same as aruni gates from R6 siege except they automatically re-activate after 15 seconds
    3. The gates are much brighter than wattson gates so everyone in the ult is less visible
    4. The spike in the middle can be pulled back up but it breaks the gates and erupts in smoke

    I actually came up with my own pilot idea. I haven't thought of the name or consider what they would look like. But I did come up with their abilities. 1 there passive would be a double jump from off the ground, this double jump DOES NOT WORK if you are comeing off a zipline, wall bouncing, flying in with valkyries ultimate, useing a gravity lift, or useing octane jump pad. It only applies when jumping off the ground. 2 the tactical ability would be an electric smoke grenade which was something used in titanfall to clear rooms or make an area to dangerous for titan. Its strength would have to be toned down so it doesnt do to much damage but you would get 2 of them and when combined with bangles smoke the effect would be devastating. 3 the ultimate would allow you to turn invisible for 30 seconds, or until you shoot your gun, or take damage.

    On another note about Post-Nerfs Valk, I think 100% on the new ranked map her jet pack needs to be a TINY bit more quiet. (It was already EXTREMELY loud)

    Another good way to change Zentra's Kit would be to have Wall-running as a passive, meaning you are much better outdoors, but inside, you are too klunky. The tactical could be the double jump and you have a "passive-like" way of activating it, you just press A again. And then, you can have two charges.

    ive been thinking about a charcter like this for awhile now and i want to see it so bad. but hear me out: instead of "ventra"... Jack Cooper! and then... maybe his ult can be (either some version of call in a titan (probably not feasible and far too much)) or more better the S.E.R.E. kit from BT meaning you get smart pistol and the knife which can be used as a high damage mellee or to "hack things" (maybe he can use it to instantly activate survey beacons or charge towers for teamates or smthing idk)

    The creativity of this guy is definetly excepcional
    One of my ideas was to implement trading, and the other one was that rampart have another passive, and that when at least one cover is recharged, like a cover, you can see that it has it on the back, and it works as a shield, so that when somebody is going to shoot you from behind, you have time to react and kill the enemies in seconds, of course it will not have damage indicators or anything like that, you will not know where the shots are coming from or how far away they are, you will only know that they are shooting at you from behind, of course this would consume 2 tactics and would have the same health as a normal cover, but if it breaks, it has a 30 second cooldown, so the enemies will have to take the opportunity and kill you easily.
    I was also thinking of several legends that had the ability to cross walls, or release devastating rays that did damage over time, but it would be a recycled idea.

    I love seeing these takes on the abilities, I've put some thought into a pilot character before and it's interesting that the only thing that was the same was the passive. Personally I feel cloak would be a good tactical and simply have it work just like in tf where it auto shuts off after a few seconds and once you fire your gun, this way you can stealthily take different angles, get the first shot in a fight, or even escape when need be. For example you could cloak and grab teammates banner right from under the enemies noses. As for the ult I was also thinking titan tech but I was thinking electric smoke in which it acts as a smoke bomb with a delayed electrical explosion, however tweek it so it's like if caustic's ult had the same effect as watson's fences. This way you can flush players out of good spots or counter defensive legends that are holed up in buildings. It can also just be used for visual cover or block spaces off.

    I love the idea of Zentra and they would be a great addition to the current meta!
    I have ideas for Zentra's ultimate that might fill the gap of logistics for the ultimate to provide visual cover after being damaged/destroyed.
    1. Seeing as the ultimate works as multiple explosive charges creating a perimeter, it's reasonable to think that they would produce knuckle cluster like reactions to taking damage (which also slightly obscures vision)
    2. It would then also seem reasonable that the after math of the materials exploding would leave fire and/or smoke lingering in the immidiate area (also providing a slight visual cover)
    This seems like a really fun Legend, I can't wait to break some necks wall running around a team just to lead them directly into my Trip Wire Cage!

    I feel like a lot of Titanfall 2 veterans, myself included, put down Apex Legends for the wrong reasons. Yes, it doesn't have the insane movement, yes, I have more fun with Titanfall's sandbox, and yes, I don't like Apex Legends' monitization methods, but listening to the developer talk about the game made me realize that there's still people who care about it. Apex Legends is not a bad game, it's biggest fault is supplanting Titanfall as Respawn's golden child because it simply made more money. In this regard, it's unfortunate, really. I want a Titanfall 3, I want an incredible capstone to a trilogy of awesome games, I want to see it happen, but it may not happen because circumstances just didn't align right.
    In all, I don't hate Apex Legends because of any fault of it's own, (though I certainly have my gripes with certain aspects of it's lore and game design,) I simply enjoy it less. Props to the devs for working the way they do, game design is a taxing job, so don't blame them for whatever fault you may have with the game.

    Nice idea,but I just want to add one thing, the map apex has is mostly not designed to do wall running, and this made this character very situational (eg Caustic). What I suggest is to change its ult to create a wall. Which helps him a lot in open area and fit its movement theme. (I personally feel a bit odd to put a slow down skill in a fast moving character). Making a wall feel much more sense to me.

    Hello there, I love your videos and I love Titanfall 2, after watching this video I've come to the realization that Respawn's perspective has changed from their time developing Titanfall 2, which was developed from the perspective of a movement shooter, and now they are developing apex legend from the perspective of a hero shooter, and this saddens me till this day I have not had the same fun from playing apex than I have from Titanfall 2. P.S Mokey we all felt your pain in this video, it felt like getting stabbed in the heart, keep up the great content, I cant wait to see your next video.

    Keep fighting the good fight with getting wall running, and Titanfall stuff in the game! I’ve certainly enjoyed brainstorming Legend characters as well.
    One included bringing Ticks from TF2 into Apex as a tactical. It’d probably be rage inducing but I think it could be balanced effectively. Instead of the Tick being used to hunt & deal damage, it could be primarily designed to chase enemies out of their current positions and detonate traps.

    Another idea for the ultimate could be that you can turn off your pilot movement temporarily to take out your weapon and shoot after a significant delay.
    Meaning you can use your ult to reposition faster and still be useful in combat instead of just being able to do it once.
    The delay would be significant enough that you are at a disadvantage when you do it infront of someone so you would prioritize repositioning over obliterating.
    Maybe instead of it being a prompt it could be when you are on the ground but the second you jump to start doing any kind of movement you are unable to fight.
    I genuinely believe this could be a legend we can have in Apex.

    Really cool! although an alternative I would say have their double jump and wall run (with a fair amount usage like valks jet pack) as a tactical. Have the passive as the 'hook' thing in titanfall that allows you to stick to walls, it should be easy to use so that you can aim 'freely' without feeling awkward holding down multiple buttons while trying to aim, for example run up a wall and press the crouch button, now your hooked, free to aim, press crouch button again to unhook, you can also be wall running and hook yourself immediately in that spot, so not just vertically but horizontally. This could be really fun for ambusing players or reaching a spot for sniping. The ultimate idea you have Tripwire-Cage (the trap thingy) I would keep. I particularly like your ultimate idea because if you managed to get your hands on a 'Digital Threat' and the enemy gets caught in the 'Tripwire-Cage' ultimate and that smoke pops off you could set up some awesome ambushes from above while hooked to a wall.

      There was actually a leaked legend concept that was almost exactly this haha they had double jump as a passive, the wall hook as a tactical, and a grenade that doesn't do damage but sends people into the void like Wraith's tac

    I have always tossed around thoughts for a pilot related legend. But I had a different idea, passive was jump kit, allow a bigger jump, like in tf2, and wall running, tactical was a double jump on a 25 second cooldown,
    And ult was smart pistol with 12 seconds or 12 bullets, deals same damage as p2020

    A way to make it possibly less broken is to have a visual indicator of when the tactical is active. That way, the enemy know that "Uh oh, this guys gonna be bouncing around like a pinball." and can play off of that information.

    My take on a pilot character. They need to be an assault legend so the trip-mine Titan ability doesn’t make much sense to me. Passive is double jump of course. Their Tactical should be a pilot ability we, already have a few Stim shot, Phase shift, Grapple Hook, Holo Pilot, and basically A-wall with Rampart/Newcastle. Only 2 we’re missing is Cloak which Mirage has when reviving/downed, and Pulse Knife which is basically bloodhound. I’m kind of leaning more toward Cloak because that could lead to some interesting engagements. Or just make the Tac a straight up throwing knife. Now the Ultimate, Smart Pistol. You get the wall running and speed of a pilot but you get the smart pistol from Titanfall 1. Only caveat is it requires a lock on and you need to close the distance to your opponent.

    I’d always like to think that if a pilot would make it into the games, it would have been a broken down simulacrum (regened pilot belonging to the ARES division), that way they can still have a pilot kit/tech but not overpowered.
    Passive: jump pack; can double jump, similar to how Zentra is, lore being that his jump pack is still damaged and he doesn't want to fix it
    Tactical: wall run; similar to how Valk's jets are, the pilot can only wall run for so long before the broken jump pack runs out of energy or fuel and needs cool down
    Ultimate: Battery back up; inspired by Brian’s feedback and giving Mokey what he wants, this will connect the pilot to a titan battery (the bright green one, to help visually show an overcharged pilot) to let him do one of two things
    1) give him his full pilot movement back, guns and everything, but only for 10-15 seconds, the drawback is that when it ends the pilot is stunned and slowed, movement and looking speed (probably can end it early by using ult again to not get the side effects but at the cost of 5 seconds)
    2) overcharge his pilot system to give him his movement back but no guns, just movement for 30 seconds

    This is WAY TOO OP for apex. Not only would it completely change gameplay and meta, but a they'd lose a massive chunk of their player base because of sweaty no life players using this legend.

    The Dev’s idea of pilot mode sounds so much fun it’d be like bloodhound ult but with no guns and no scans but you’re barreling at/away from someone at 50 mph. Though I’d want it to have an off button for when you eventually get to the target or else you’re gonna be sitting there with no gun just wall running around the poor guy waiting for the ult to end.

    Maybe because they promised they wouldn't do that. I strictly remember them promising that, if they do add any legend that does this, my respect for respawn will go down a lot

    I think to add on to the devs take on the ultimate, I think not having a weapon in pilot mode would defeat the purpose of it and leave you very vulnerable.
    So, maybe let the character cancel the ultimate at any time so you have the ability to start fighting once you either get jumped or catch up to your enemy so that way you're not left either staring at then awkwardly without being able to pull put the blicky or being unable to help your team out during escape.
    And so that it's not broken, you lose a quarter of however much ult you're left with after canceling it.

    So they way I would balance your character is wall run is your passive, however you dont get a gun or a speed boost from wall running. Tactical, is a shock smoke grenade that will impare enemy vision. And when you walk into it you screen gets a mild static distortion with light shield damage (only shield no health) so it can be used offensively to weaken an enemy teams shields or defensively to run away or discourage an engagement and then for your ult you get to do "crazy pilot shit" but take 1.5 or 2 times damage because your speed causes bullets to hit you harder. And any shot that hits you breaks your momentum, and slows you down.

    The double jump (if keeping momentum) could act as a type of tap strafe for console players and add more movement tech closing the skill gap even if just slightly
