i acc like her tactical but the passive, the main point of this video, is the weak point of the whole thing for me, its not very cool, i think there are ways it could be implemented better, like a Kick-boost instead of a punch, and have it be on a double jump instead. that way you have a small leap/double jump ability, you can still make it high skill by making it require a precise hit and maybe change the numbers based on the surface its used on.
The problem is that this character is way too op. Her ultimate ability is too big and she has two abilities that basically have no counter. I think that would be better if the shockwave were the ultimate and if this causes around 100 damage to everyone inside the area. You could still combine the ultimate with her second, but not too often. Also, the punch boost could have a speed limit, like 800, to avoid the gameplay be too broken. And for last, the animation of the shockwave could be a dive punch, like Doomfist's ability (from Overwatch), instead of a simple punch. The rest I think is great.
Typically if a legend has an ability that can counter another legend, it is balanced by reducing the frequency you can use it and also the range of legend abilities it counters (e.g. mad maggie, crypto ult). Her gauntlet tactical, a hard counter to basically the entire controller class, is a resource that she gets fairly frequently, and her ultimate hard-counters an even wider range of legend abilities in the game for a sustained period of time. The ultimate with arguably the most similar ability to counter a wide range of abilities, maggies wrecking ball, is a one use ability that does not last for a sustained period of time. Her ultimate would be meta-defining in higher level play because it denies other teams the ability to use seer and gibby dome, wattson gen, catalyst, rampart and newcastle wall, and important rotation abilities like jumppad, all portals, and pathy zipline. If her teammates can still place abilities inside her ult, she can ironically make a building fortified by a defense legend on her team even more difficult to push. If teammates can't, having a para on your team is a death sentence for all controller legends and then some, and she would have awful synergy with a lot of the roster. I love her skill expression with her punchboost passive and repositioning ability and I really think more legends with high skill ceiling abilities should be added to the game, but the way that the rest of her kit is designed around hard-countering other legend abilities would reduce the level of skill expression other players can have with their abilities, and also make her absolutely miserable to play against for a significant chunk of the legend roster. If she is to be added to the game, I think the movement abilities are a blast and can remain the way they are, but there needs to be changes to her tactical and ultimate to at least not make the entire controller class unplayable.
This is such an amazingly cool hero concept. I love how much effort you put into designing and balancing her, and how much love clearly went into this design, both from yourself and the artist. Respawn should genuinely take a few notes from your book.
There was literally no reason to take out punch boosting when tap strafing exists, which is much less controller friendly if that’s how they’re judging what movement tech to keep

seeing you punch boost off a building to gain distance and chain punch boosts with wall jumps made me remember just how much i loved that tech, it was so damn versatile. These days i have my hands full with mastering lurch tech but punch boosting was the first movement tech that i really explored my creativity with
Very cool idea, I think however having 2 placeable object deny tools is a bit too targeted against certain characters, similar to people making fun of the crypto "off the grid" passive. There are a lot of characters that do place stuff. Id almost want to see something like, tapping tactical makes her immediately ground pound and do a small amount of damage and a slow to enemies around the impact area, or charge to super punch boost, 1 charge overall, then the ult is the area denial bubble.
I think the ult should give you like a charged version of the tacticals combined heres my idea when you click ur ult you charge your gloves if you shockwave it creates a zone thats constantly schockwaved and acts a bit like the area of denial but in pulses and if you do the punch boost you have like another schockwave that damadges enemy's for like 100 on hit and 30 on schockwave hit but after the hit it would do a little animation cooldown and you are launched in the air
My favorite part of this legend idea is the punch gauntlets. Being able to punch the ground to get height on an opponent, be able to get better positioning, and so on. I would really like to see this ability get implented into the game at some point.
Man this is a REALLYYYY Freaking great idea!! could you imagine a 10,000 hour Pera and their Aim? all the back and forth looking from punch/kicking the ground/objects to flicking back to aim at people. It would be INSANE. Im speaking more of a Movement player type of game play style but either way, this would make for some CRAZY Clips!
I’m only seeing two situations though. It’s buffed for console players due to it being harder to turn back and forth, thus making it op on pc because she could just zoom around at an uncatchable pace. Or, it being decent on pc, not boosting you too far for too long, but console players won’t ever be able to make it to that ‘too long’ without having to max out their sensitivity. (Which I shouldn’t have to tell you why that’d be a huge inconvenience.)
Ultimate seems to targeted against defensive legends i think it should be this:She punches the ground really hard and launches her opponents up in the air without the ability to air strafe.
I don't think people have realised this yet but... this would be near impossible to use properly on console unless you have very high sensitivity levels.
This video made me sad man… punch boosting was so cool and has so much potential for skill expression…. Also, I feel like a legend who’s abilities are to counter other abilities is inherently flawed. I feel there is potential to make her ult something more interesting and useful on its own without needing enemies to place abilities

I love this concept, If we ever get to add a community made legend to the game para should come into the games. She would be so fun and she would be a game changer for final rings
It might be cool if her tactical worked kind of worked like the devotion where it starts slow but gets faster so if you could do a quick jump to safety but if you wanted to do a big jump it wouldn't take a whole 4 seconds. (a small jump would take like 1 second but a big jump would be like 3-3.5 seconds and something in the middle would take like 2.25 seconds)

tbh I feel like having the tactical emp turn into more of a shockwave-y sort of ability that "shakes the ground" (keeping the ability the same just changing the description of it) would make her tactical more consistent with the explanations on how it works rather than being something that somehow propels you backwards while also being able to emit an electromagnetic pulse, also making the ult into some sort of seismic activity which makes deployables implacable would be able to keep her consistent across all abilities however the current ult idea would still work well enough and could give her a lot of character types she could be for example she could be a scientist that mainly works as a geologist but also makes her own gadgets or she could be just a girl who's angry at defensive legends for "being too scared to fight"
tactical: press the tactical button (in my case "q") to activate, and press q again to stop the tactical skill, when enabled on the left click it will jump off the ground, on the right click it will destroy other people's tactical skills you made a good character, with interesting lore, but not for beginners eng not my native, sorry
I have a decent character idea, he’s deaf and wanting to hear but can’t afford hearing aids or implants, he joins the games to raise money for hearing aids or implants. His name is sense. He’s a movement character. Passive: sense, creates a ring of movement like walking around him that helps him to know that there’s enemies near him. To know someone’s coming through something. Tactical: sound speed: it’s a bit like stim for octane but better. And louder. He moves faster, louder in a short time. He also increases the range of sense as his passive by 15% to sense more enemies. Ultimate: copycat: he scans an enemy for 5 seconds transforming that character for 40 seconds. Increasing ultimate charge by 60% than the original enemy. Bit like echo from overwatch. If his copycat form dies, he transforms back to his original character as sense with half health.
If Newcastle can jump to teammates (I don't know if that's still possible, I haven't played in a bit), you can use the shockwave to boost over, then place the area of denial. At the same time, you fly over; while they can't have some shields to protect them, you'll have Newcastle come to your rescue to set up and play from a new angle. In contrast, the third teammate, if alive, can fight from the previous angle/ flank them or come to the two on the other side.
This would be an amazing addition to the game, but sadly i dont think EA would let respawn. and with heightening tension between respawn and EA i think that if it was ever to come into the game, it would be after EA sells respawn. (i hope microsoft buys it because they have a history of buying companies and letting them do what they want)
Damn, you guys really thought about everything, passive- Taktic- and ultimate abilities, possible downpoints, a backstory, an awesome Design and everything else. She would also be the first legend ever whos abilities revolve around specific Essential (movement) skills in the game outside of offensive attacts. One of the things that I love about this guy is that he is so dedicated to this game and trying to make it both fun and balanced. to try to get concepts that the player base wants put into the game while still optimizing or balancing them And giving considerations for development. To grease the wheels on actually adding them to the game, rather than just saying hey, here's my idea, figure it out. I just really hope that Respawn and EA One day decide to make some changes To how they operate and their drive for the game And understanding for giving the player base a game that it actually wants, With the stability, And quality, that the player base deserves.
you could combine the two ways the tactical works into one. The movement part is used but the destroying shockwave is applied to the area where you just used your ability. The area where the destroying effect is applied would be unchanged, so if you need to destroy stuff you just use it at low charge, if you need the movement part you charge it up more. Sometimes bot effect would be useful!! I think a simple change like this would simplify what is basically two tacticals at once (there is no legend that has two distinct tacticals that comes up in my mind) into just one, and keep both the movement and anti ability spam flavours
My only addition to is to make the character voiced by Terry Crews. Don't worry about changing the character or backstory or whatever. I just need a punch based character to be vo8ced by Terry Crews
Everything was so well thought out and this seems like a dream come true as a pathfinder/octane main. I really wanna say they should hire you but they'd nerf this to hell and would just be holding you back if you didn't have full creative freedom. We need a kickstarter or something for a mokey game. It could even start super simple like a basic tdm with basic graphic, just insane movement
best tactical recarge method imo for balancing would be 2 charges on a 10 second cooldown of the break so you have another chance but still have no ability to run away, and the power jump taking 2 charges, meaning needing to choose one or the other otherwise have to wait a long time to get back online
Sounds cool. In terms of balancing for her ult it definitely should be destructible, having similar health to a seer ult, meaning the player will have to think about placement of the ult to protect it
We need a legend that creates a bubble that prevents 3rd partying. Not like a Gibby bubble that people can just walk through. Something that prevents shots from being heard by other people or something like that.
Honestly would think this would be a viable great legend idea if it wasn’t for her passive probably being a little too tricky for most controller players, would love to see this in the game
I love the idea but I feel like her tactical does way too much. I think instead, we could make it so that the tactical would to push you back when it punched. This could be boosted when punching the ground below you causing you to launch up in the air. You could also keep the charge-up effect, increasing the range at which she breaks stuff but also is knocked back. The ult is such a dope idea and I really regret not playing more when punchboosting was a thing because this legend makes it looks so fun!!!
I love this concept, it looks really creative and fresh, what instantly came to my mind when mentioning potential charges on tactical, how about it just creating the shockwave on the landing location if you used the tactical to boost yourself? It seems like a great encouragment to come closer with your ability use, and also adds another skill reqirement due to the need to aim youself onto enemy structures instead of your marker/crosshair
The character overall is great! My main issue though is the ability denial object. While it only denies abilities which place things, ability denial can be pretty annoying in games centered around characters having unique abilities. I like the idea of a defensive counter but I don’t think it should go as far as to invalidate all of their kits in a radius
Interesting concept, you could charge her disruction tactical with grenades, and each grenade would have a different effect. Since grenades also counter defensive abilities that could be a nice touch.
You're getting much better at Legend design, Mokey! :D I think Fuchs is way too overpowered in theory, but I think Pera could become viable with some tweaking and balancing. :D
I love that we’ve come to a point in time were game developers are not doing the right things in the games that we love so we have people that just implement the things that we want. that’s where we’re at with gaming I’m here for it and Love it.
Sadly the Apex devs established a long time ago that they don't want the game to have high mobility like Titanfall. I understand it to a degree though, since they're trying to appeal to a casual audience, which brings in more players and money, but it is unfortunate nonetheless. If only they made Titanfall 3.

Another good tactical idea is combining the gauntlet boost and shockwave so they both happen at the same time. If you gauntlet boost it also destroys any placed abilities and doors nearby
Now that Revenant reborn is what he is, I think this charcater is even more relevant than before. I think this is the kind of movement legend that could make it into the game, yous should try to talk to a dev like you did with Zentra.
That's a really good work here, I love the kit of this legend except the passive, which is too strong for me. Especially for respawn , they don't want a legend who's too fast. That's why pathfinder had hard time before getting buffed this season. But it's the passive that makes you create this character. But it would be really interesting to see a legend with this tactical and ultimate to get rid of camping building meta and give solution for pushing a building hold by a watson, rampart or caustic.
In my opinion, a cool gadget that you could use instead of heatshields or a mobile respawn beacon, would be a device that allowes you to activate your jetpack mid-air as if you used a jump tower. That would also give you great escape possibilities with your Legend concept. Great video👍
My issue with this is someone moderately good would be able to get 3.4 nautical miles away from you when you almost finish their team and be an absolute nightmare to chase
I would say the passive should be more powerful but with a slight recharge time after each punch to raise the skill floor for the ability. Like three charges that recharge after three seconds or so each, and maybe you'd have to hold the melee for a fraction of a second longer to make it activate instead of a regular punch. And it would also be good against players, could push them far away instead of launching you. I would also buff the launch height on the fully charged tactical by a lot, maybe even make it so that it has to be fully charged. That way it's a huge movement ability, but without the variability to make it too overpoweredly unpredictable. Just a MASSIVE super-jump that's slow and hard to aim. It would be farther than an octane jump pad, but harder to aim, and easier to accidentally die with (lava, falling off the map, landing on a full squad), and since you'd have a slow, predictable arc, it would still be easy for people to shoot you out of the air if you didn't think hard enough about your trajectory. The ult could be more like a seer tac kind of trajectory but far broader on the x-axis specifically; that way it wouldn't work as well when the enemy is a floor above, but would be better on even ground, and Pera could also punch it into existence, like some kind of shockwave fist that destroys placeables and makes them unplaceable with a similar kind of energy field, widening from the point of creation like a rectangular flashlight. Just wanted to share my take on the character I guess; I really, like ability design stuff.
I had a thought that this could have been a Passive ability for an upcoming legend, like Forge, where it can also 'boost' you into the air when aimed directly down
I personally see some issues with Pera at various skill levels. A low skilled controler can't do the 180 flicks (I sure can't), so the passive loses almost all expression. The tactical countering all placed abilities in a small to medium range feels more like an ultimate ability than a tactical one (like the wrecking ball and EMP), and almost certainly goes against Respawn's design of tacticals don't hard-counter ultimates. I also don't really like that the tactical fully destroys rampart walls instead of just breaking the amped part (like the EMP), but that's a personal issue. Same with Castle walls, since those have high HP. Finally the ult looks kinda janky right now, but with a sound and UI update it's possible to better signal it's effect in the same manner as Rev's silence. This would make the ult polished and have the right feel. The effect is really interesting, but probably cuts into Rev's domain too much. All in all, while I love the design and idea behind Pera, I don't think it's a good legend to add to Apex. She hard counters way too much and significantly cuts into other legends domain (Maggie/Crypto and Revanant). Switching the tactical and passive around could fix the first few problems (maybe): Passive: Destructible objects take only 1 melee attack to destroy. (not sure how this should interact with Catalyst's barricade and castle walls). Tactical: Lunge at a surface and punch to launch yourself away from it. Punching a person launches both of you away from each other and deals 20 damage. (2 charges, essentially the charged version of the tactical). This way you can't destroy a setup through walls (so it's not a hard counter per say). But you still keep the expression of the passive and tactical. Is slightly more usefull in a fight, though you deal less damage (but lunge at them). The current ult is cool so I wanna keep it, even though it isn't balanced.
Ultimate economy idea: start the game with your ultimate, and it's 1 use, but you can use ult accels to recharge it, meaning it's ready availability + need for resources to recoup it would make for an interesting ability, only problem people would spam it on hot drops, and it wouldn't be played by the majority of controller players.
Fun & strong abilities that synergies nicely to create a great legend. Man I wish more in game legends had kits like this, but at this point in apex that's too much to ask & too much for top players to handle.
Honestly seems very interesting if they do any of the concepts mentioned here. As of late the game has become Clutter Legends and I'd definitely want to see a legends having that ult.
Honestly this could be a awesome fuse rework as they are hinting a reworking Rev, plus the big robot arm gotta be quite robust. That or Maggie since she is a rebel warlord having a unorthodox approach to war would make sense plus the combo with her ult speed boost would make her a insane movement tech legend plus wasn't punch boosting discovered the same season she was released. Edit: But also remember jester how he was able to place traps on walls that could explode. What if that was a feature of that trap that it could throw and damage enemies but also be used as a single use jump pad as some players already shoot their own pads to avoid ops chasing them. I'm just speculating would be interesting if they gave that bad to octane instead that way you would still get jump pad but also its sound would be a lil harder to pick up on as you would have to determine if that was a actual grenade used in a gun fight or if you're suddenly being pushed by a team. Obvious you would get 3 to drop so you could also chain jump like octanes sometimes do time to time but also be able to set up your teammates.i could also see it being some what flexible as a mix of octane/fuse where you could drop it at your feet get high air then launch the other 2 charges on enemies.
Wb having two charges for your tactie (one for each arm) and you can use the super jump only when u have both charged. But if you have both charged up you can also do the shockwave on each arm (2)

Or, it being decent on pc, not boosting you too far for too long, but console players won’t ever be able to make it to that ‘too long’ without having to max out their sensitivity.
(Which I shouldn’t have to tell you why that’d be a huge inconvenience.)

Ultimate seems to targeted against defensive legends i think it should be this:She punches the ground really hard and launches her opponents up in the air without the ability to air strafe.

I don't think people have realised this yet but... this would be near impossible to use properly on console unless you have very high sensitivity levels.

Also, I feel like a legend who’s abilities are to counter other abilities is inherently flawed. I feel there is potential to make her ult something more interesting and useful on its own without needing enemies to place abilities
I want this legend so bad! The only thing I would wish for is that she gets a different backstory, NOT totally different. I would only change a small part of what you said, but that's still amazing.

It might be cool if her tactical worked kind of worked like the devotion where it starts slow but gets faster so if you could do a quick jump to safety but if you wanted to do a big jump it wouldn't take a whole 4 seconds. (a small jump would take like 1 second but a big jump would be like 3-3.5 seconds and something in the middle would take like 2.25 seconds)

tbh I feel like having the tactical emp turn into more of a shockwave-y sort of ability that "shakes the ground" (keeping the ability the same just changing the description of it) would make her tactical more consistent with the explanations on how it works rather than being something that somehow propels you backwards while also being able to emit an electromagnetic pulse, also making the ult into some sort of seismic activity which makes deployables implacable would be able to keep her consistent across all abilities however the current ult idea would still work well enough and could give her a lot of character types she could be for example she could be a scientist that mainly works as a geologist but also makes her own gadgets or she could be just a girl who's angry at defensive legends for "being too scared to fight"
tactical: press the tactical button (in my case "q") to activate, and press q again to stop the tactical skill, when enabled on the left click it will jump off the ground, on the right click it will destroy other people's tactical skills

I have a decent character idea, he’s deaf and wanting to hear but can’t afford hearing aids or implants, he joins the games to raise money for hearing aids or implants. His name is sense. He’s a movement character. Passive: sense, creates a ring of movement like walking around him that helps him to know that there’s enemies near him. To know someone’s coming through something. Tactical: sound speed: it’s a bit like stim for octane but better. And louder. He moves faster, louder in a short time. He also increases the range of sense as his passive by 15% to sense more enemies. Ultimate: copycat: he scans an enemy for 5 seconds transforming that character for 40 seconds. Increasing ultimate charge by 60% than the original enemy. Bit like echo from overwatch. If his copycat form dies, he transforms back to his original character as sense with half health.
If Newcastle can jump to teammates (I don't know if that's still possible, I haven't played in a bit), you can use the shockwave to boost over, then place the area of denial. At the same time, you fly over; while they can't have some shields to protect them, you'll have Newcastle come to your rescue to set up and play from a new angle. In contrast, the third teammate, if alive, can fight from the previous angle/ flank them or come to the two on the other side.
why dont they just make a 4th game mode to go with control, gun run and tdm that is where every legend has wall run and double jump ability
If Shroud and Mokey teamed up to design an fps game, Shroud handling gunplay and Mokey handling movement, that'd be one HELL of a game.
This would be an amazing addition to the game, but sadly i dont think EA would let respawn. and with heightening tension between respawn and EA i think that if it was ever to come into the game, it would be after EA sells respawn. (i hope microsoft buys it because they have a history of buying companies and letting them do what they want)
This is actually an insanely good concept, were this to be implemented into the game I would have a new main almost immediately
Damn, you guys really thought about everything, passive- Taktic- and ultimate abilities, possible downpoints, a backstory, an awesome Design and everything else.
She would also be the first legend ever whos abilities revolve around specific Essential (movement) skills in the game outside of offensive attacts.
I really hope respawn makes this concept come to life.

One of the things that I love about this guy is that he is so dedicated to this game and trying to make it both fun and balanced. to try to get concepts that the player base wants put into the game while still optimizing or balancing them And giving considerations for development. To grease the wheels on actually adding them to the game, rather than just saying hey, here's my idea, figure it out. I just really hope that Respawn and EA One day decide to make some changes To how they operate and their drive for the game And understanding for giving the player base a game that it actually wants, With the stability, And quality, that the player base deserves.
you could combine the two ways the tactical works into one. The movement part is used but the destroying shockwave is applied to the area where you just used your ability. The area where the destroying effect is applied would be unchanged, so if you need to destroy stuff you just use it at low charge, if you need the movement part you charge it up more. Sometimes bot effect would be useful!! I think a simple change like this would simplify what is basically two tacticals at once (there is no legend that has two distinct tacticals that comes up in my mind) into just one, and keep both the movement and anti ability spam flavours

This is such a creative legend really well done mokey your balancing seems sensible too. This would play so well out on the edge in competitive play

Idea: Velocity affects the gauntlets meaning How much damage affects the Structures making the player use the passive to the full extent.
Everything was so well thought out and this seems like a dream come true as a pathfinder/octane main. I really wanna say they should hire you but they'd nerf this to hell and would just be holding you back if you didn't have full creative freedom. We need a kickstarter or something for a mokey game. It could even start super simple like a basic tdm with basic graphic, just insane movement
I love this idea of this legend she seems really fun, and the fact to get better at her is to be creative with her kit it seems so cool
best tactical recarge method imo for balancing would be 2 charges on a 10 second cooldown of the break so you have another chance but still have no ability to run away, and the power jump taking 2 charges, meaning needing to choose one or the other otherwise have to wait a long time to get back online
Sounds cool. In terms of balancing for her ult it definitely should be destructible, having similar health to a seer ult, meaning the player will have to think about placement of the ult to protect it
MAKE A VOID PHASING LEGEND LIKE WRAITH AND ASH
We need a legend that creates a bubble that prevents 3rd partying. Not like a Gibby bubble that people can just walk through. Something that prevents shots from being heard by other people or something like that.
Honestly would think this would be a viable great legend idea if it wasn’t for her passive probably being a little too tricky for most controller players, would love to see this in the game

I love the idea but I feel like her tactical does way too much.
I think instead, we could make it so that the tactical would to push you back when it punched. This could be boosted when punching the ground below you causing you to launch up in the air.
You could also keep the charge-up effect, increasing the range at which she breaks stuff but also is knocked back.
The ult is such a dope idea and I really regret not playing more when punchboosting was a thing because this legend makes it looks so fun!!!

I love this concept, it looks really creative and fresh, what instantly came to my mind when mentioning potential charges on tactical, how about it just creating the shockwave on the landing location if you used the tactical to boost yourself? It seems like a great encouragment to come closer with your ability use, and also adds another skill reqirement due to the need to aim youself onto enemy structures instead of your marker/crosshair
I feel like it would be a Cullum going in the direction that she punch, punch up Cullum only goes up, punch down Cullum only goes down,etc
The character overall is great! My main issue though is the ability denial object. While it only denies abilities which place things, ability denial can be pretty annoying in games centered around characters having unique abilities. I like the idea of a defensive counter but I don’t think it should go as far as to invalidate all of their kits in a radius

Interesting concept, you could charge her disruction tactical with grenades, and each grenade would have a different effect. Since grenades also counter defensive abilities that could be a nice touch.
You're getting much better at Legend design, Mokey! :D I think Fuchs is way too overpowered in theory, but I think Pera could become viable with some tweaking and balancing. :D

I love that we’ve come to a point in time were game developers are not doing the right things in the games that we love so we have people that just implement the things that we want. that’s where we’re at with gaming I’m here for it and Love it.
Sadly the Apex devs established a long time ago that they don't want the game to have high mobility like Titanfall. I understand it to a degree though, since they're trying to appeal to a casual audience, which brings in more players and money, but it is unfortunate nonetheless. If only they made Titanfall 3.
Actually that looks like a very good legend, I would be really hyped for her coming into the games, I mean, it’s been a long long time that we don’t had a really good comp legend, useful for many seasons and not even for the beginning of the season, that legends is like defensive and mobile at the same time, that silk be really interesting

Another good tactical idea is combining the gauntlet boost and shockwave so they both happen at the same time. If you gauntlet boost it also destroys any placed abilities and doors nearby
Now that Revenant reborn is what he is, I think this charcater is even more relevant than before.
I think this is the kind of movement legend that could make it into the game, yous should try to talk to a dev like you did with Zentra.
That's a really good work here, I love the kit of this legend except the passive, which is too strong for me. Especially for respawn , they don't want a legend who's too fast. That's why pathfinder had hard time before getting buffed this season. But it's the passive that makes you create this character. But it would be really interesting to see a legend with this tactical and ultimate to get rid of camping building meta and give solution for pushing a building hold by a watson, rampart or caustic.
In my opinion, a cool gadget that you could use instead of heatshields or a mobile respawn beacon, would be a device that allowes you to activate your jetpack mid-air as if you used a jump tower. That would also give you great escape possibilities with your Legend concept. Great video👍
My issue with this is someone moderately good would be able to get 3.4 nautical miles away from you when you almost finish their team and be an absolute nightmare to chase
I would say the passive should be more powerful but with a slight recharge time after each punch to raise the skill floor for the ability. Like three charges that recharge after three seconds or so each, and maybe you'd have to hold the melee for a fraction of a second longer to make it activate instead of a regular punch. And it would also be good against players, could push them far away instead of launching you. I would also buff the launch height on the fully charged tactical by a lot, maybe even make it so that it has to be fully charged. That way it's a huge movement ability, but without the variability to make it too overpoweredly unpredictable. Just a MASSIVE super-jump that's slow and hard to aim. It would be farther than an octane jump pad, but harder to aim, and easier to accidentally die with (lava, falling off the map, landing on a full squad), and since you'd have a slow, predictable arc, it would still be easy for people to shoot you out of the air if you didn't think hard enough about your trajectory. The ult could be more like a seer tac kind of trajectory but far broader on the x-axis specifically; that way it wouldn't work as well when the enemy is a floor above, but would be better on even ground, and Pera could also punch it into existence, like some kind of shockwave fist that destroys placeables and makes them unplaceable with a similar kind of energy field, widening from the point of creation like a rectangular flashlight. Just wanted to share my take on the character I guess; I really, like ability design stuff.
I had a thought that this could have been a Passive ability for an upcoming legend, like Forge, where it can also 'boost' you into the air when aimed directly down
I personally see some issues with Pera at various skill levels. A low skilled controler can't do the 180 flicks (I sure can't), so the passive loses almost all expression.
The tactical countering all placed abilities in a small to medium range feels more like an ultimate ability than a tactical one (like the wrecking ball and EMP), and almost certainly goes against Respawn's design of tacticals don't hard-counter ultimates.
I also don't really like that the tactical fully destroys rampart walls instead of just breaking the amped part (like the EMP), but that's a personal issue. Same with Castle walls, since those have high HP.
Finally the ult looks kinda janky right now, but with a sound and UI update it's possible to better signal it's effect in the same manner as Rev's silence. This would make the ult polished and have the right feel. The effect is really interesting, but probably cuts into Rev's domain too much.
All in all, while I love the design and idea behind Pera, I don't think it's a good legend to add to Apex. She hard counters way too much and significantly cuts into other legends domain (Maggie/Crypto and Revanant).
Switching the tactical and passive around could fix the first few problems (maybe):
Passive: Destructible objects take only 1 melee attack to destroy. (not sure how this should interact with Catalyst's barricade and castle walls).
Tactical: Lunge at a surface and punch to launch yourself away from it. Punching a person launches both of you away from each other and deals 20 damage. (2 charges, essentially the charged version of the tactical).
This way you can't destroy a setup through walls (so it's not a hard counter per say). But you still keep the expression of the passive and tactical. Is slightly more usefull in a fight, though you deal less damage (but lunge at them).
The current ult is cool so I wanna keep it, even though it isn't balanced.
Ultimate economy idea: start the game with your ultimate, and it's 1 use, but you can use ult accels to recharge it, meaning it's ready availability + need for resources to recoup it would make for an interesting ability, only problem people would spam it on hot drops, and it wouldn't be played by the majority of controller players.
Fun & strong abilities that synergies nicely to create a great legend. Man I wish more in game legends had kits like this, but at this point in apex that's too much to ask & too much for top players to handle.
Honestly seems very interesting if they do any of the concepts mentioned here. As of late the game has become Clutter Legends and I'd definitely want to see a legends having that ult.

Honestly this could be a awesome fuse rework as they are hinting a reworking Rev, plus the big robot arm gotta be quite robust. That or Maggie since she is a rebel warlord having a unorthodox approach to war would make sense plus the combo with her ult speed boost would make her a insane movement tech legend plus wasn't punch boosting discovered the same season she was released.
Edit: But also remember jester how he was able to place traps on walls that could explode. What if that was a feature of that trap that it could throw and damage enemies but also be used as a single use jump pad as some players already shoot their own pads to avoid ops chasing them. I'm just speculating would be interesting if they gave that bad to octane instead that way you would still get jump pad but also its sound would be a lil harder to pick up on as you would have to determine if that was a actual grenade used in a gun fight or if you're suddenly being pushed by a team. Obvious you would get 3 to drop so you could also chain jump like octanes sometimes do time to time but also be able to set up your teammates.i could also see it being some what flexible as a mix of octane/fuse where you could drop it at your feet get high air then launch the other 2 charges on enemies.
Wb having two charges for your tactie (one for each arm) and you can use the super jump only when u have both charged. But if you have both charged up you can also do the shockwave on each arm (2)
I love that punch boosting being patched is part of the lore
A character like this with an heirloom would be by far the best thing they've done with the game
