  • Hello Everyone! 🌹✨ I hope you are all doing well! 🤗 Last weekend I was in Manhattan with my sister Dana. We had the most amazing time and saw 2 incredible theatrical performances while we were there! 💫I rarely get to spend time with her, but when we do see each other it always makes for an exciting and magical time!🖤✨🖤
So today, I would like to express my love, gratitude and appreciation of her with this Floating Heart Pendant!
Design elements like hearts are fun and (fairly) easy to make. There are several ways to approach dot hearts, depending on the size. These are small and simple…just the way I like them! 😃🌹
I hope you all enjoy and make a few hearts for your friends and loved ones!!
Thanks so much for all of your support and love!!
✨🌹Big Hugs and Cheers to you all - Robin🌹🥰

I can’t remember ever hearing you say “not perfect is ok”. A very good progression. Lol

Hi Beth!😂🌹 it is hard for me to take my own advice! Like I will spend days and weeks trying to perfect something for the demo… And most of the time when I look back, the ones that are not so perfect look better than I remember! (Usually it will take someone else to tell me, before I remind myself, that yes!…It is OK to not be perfect😂) I think nowadays, it is more important that I am enjoying myself than making perfect beads….right?🤨 lol! Hope you’re doing well!
Big Hugs & Cheers- Robin 🌈👋🏽🌹

These are lovely, quite a variety of backgrounds. I especially like thin one with just the pink with no stringers.

Hello Shelley! ✨👋🏽 Thank you so much! It was fun to explore different backgrounds on this one. I found it a bit difficult to pick the right one because I did not want it to take away from the hearts. 🌹✨The bead you mentioned … I actually threw it away because I was getting aggravated at it!😂 … this happens to me often! Lol… Days later, I pulled it out of the trash and thought wow! This is not so bad!😂😂
So, thanks again… I truly appreciate your comment!🥰 Cheers to you- Robin 🌈✨✨

I do like floating elements, sigh adding it to the list. 104F today and 'melt the thermometer' temperatures inside the shed. I'm going to cool off today by defrosting the freezer. Hope everything is going well for you and Patrick. 🍉🌈

Hello Jirup! 🥰🌹 Oh my!! That is sweltering heat! Hopefully the temperature will be getting a little cooler for you in the next month or two?? 😳 I remember, growing up in Texas, nine months out of the year was too hot to do anything… often above hundreds. I hope you can find some coolness from your freezer!😂… I have also been known to have my head in the freezer during the summer as well! Stay cool my friend!! Big Hugs & cheers- Robin ☃️❄️☃️🌹

Thank you thank you Robin! What a beautiful bead! I have not done any encasing yet --- I absolutely love the look of encased beads. I will also try the hearts but I think I'll probably end up with blobs. 😂 I also am anxious to make a cane. All I've really done so far is pull stringers. Are you using COD 104 in this video? You make it look so easy. I love The Dungeon. In the 70's, it was a special event to visit my grandparents in NY. My grandmother was delightfully whimsy and called her basement The Dungeon Palace. Good memories. What is the deal with bubbles? What causes them?

Hello Derweasel! 😃🌹 I absolutely love your Dungeon story! That is so cool…your Grandmother sounds like an amazing person! 😂💫 It took some time before I got into pulling cane. I started out by doing a lot of twisted stringers… then, as time went by, I started pulling slightly thicker and thicker stringers with more glass until they were too thick to be called stringers.🤗 and the same goes with the encasing. It took some time before I got the courage to try and it was easier than I thought.
It’s good to go at your own pace, but it’s also good to push yourself when you feel ready, and yes…all the glass in the 101 and 102 demos are soft glass… 104COE. I do hope you try these hearts, even if they turn into little blobs!😂 when I first started experimenting with hearts I too had blobs!! 😅
I remember a glass artist once said to me that you need 1000 hours of practice time to understand the glass. But as long as you are excited about what you do and enjoy yourself, it goes by in a breeze! Thanks so much for sharing your story as well as excitement!🥰💫
Cheers my friend - Robin 🙏🏽🌹✨

Bubbles in glass can happen for several reasons… Perhaps the rod itself has tiny bubbles trapped inside of it or you could trap a tiny bit of air in your piece underneath the glass causing a bubble to be trapped inside. I find it to be a normal part of the Glass process…. But when you were working on a small scale, they can be a drag when you don’t want them! 😂🌈👋🏽
