    Dear Heather, I've been troubled by TMJ for over 50 yrs and today my jaw has been particularly tender...so seeing your video just now came like a Godsend. I've already tried your technique and it was easy and effective. I've watched many of your videos and haven't seen a bad one yet. Thank you so much for sharing your wealth of knowledge with the rest of us. It's is greatly needed and appreciated. God bless you, dear.

    Thank you so very, very much, Heather. Don't usually comment on TH-cam videos, but this is a sincere thanks I got to express to you somehow. You really saved my life and the life of my child by doing this. The pain was unbearable and nothing else I tried helped. Your method was unique in immediately taking the horrible pain away. Am in a strange situation, not able to go to doctor right now. Internet and people that make it what it is are giving such hope regarding the future of human kind.

    I spent $200 getting two massages and even though I told them my problem was jaw pain, neither of them offered to do this for me. I was able to do it myself thanks to your video and my jaw feels more relaxed. Thank you so much!!!

      woebetideme Cheers for the video content! Forgive me for chiming in, I am interested in your thoughts. Have you considered - Franaar Painless Smile Formula (erm, check it on google should be there)? It is a smashing exclusive product for curing the TMJ disorder without the hard work. Ive heard some pretty good things about it and my friend Sam got cool results with it.

    I can't thank you enough for showing these pressure points. I've had TMJ since I broke my jaw on both sides back in 2001, and it's gone so far that I can barely open my mouth, eat, or even sleep well. I've suffered from constant headaches, neckpains and earpains ever since that injury, and I tried these pressure points, and now I can open my mouth somewhat normal for the first time in almost 3 weeks just after trying this onne time :D

    I happened upon this video a couple of months ago. I was having severe pain caused in my case from clenching my teeth unconsciously during the day and grinding my teeth at night. Before digging out my dreaded bite plate for night wear I began this routine daily and it really cured the problem. Ultimately I began using the bite plate at night as extra insurance. But even when I don't I have little problem as I do your excercises mostly evening or in bed before sleep. Thank you so very much.

    @haileysheets - That point is on the Small Intestines Acupressure Meridian. It's SI 19 and one translation for it is Auditory Palace. It's helpful for many ear problems - tinnitis, hearing loss, inflammation in the area. It's also good for motor problems/functional issues of the mandibular joint. It's usually a point that's very tender - there are a lot of fascial structures and tendon attachments in that area that we use constantly and pressure in the area feels tender.

    This seams to help. I have just tried each of these points for just over 30 seconds each. It was a painful experience, though I appear to have some relief. I usually have difficulty pronouncing words that require a wide open mouth and immediately after the exercise I had less difficulty. I will keep trying this exercise.

    You can do this several times a day if it helps. I usually do it a 2-4 times a day when my jaw starts getting tense and tight. I hold the acupoints for 30s to 2 min at each one. Be careful not to press too hard or do this too often as you could bruise yourself! And yes, the ear drain often accompanies this technique. I'm glad it's helping!

    Thank you sll the way from Durban, South Africa ! Thank you so much for making and posting your video. I used the end of a pencil, with an eraser, to massage and press those 4 points. I spent a long time at each area - a lot of tmj jaw tension, and full feeling in my ears - and I can move my jaw more easily, and can see the muscles are looser, and want to " stretch out' after. I often - sort unconsciously - rub the front of my ears, to try and help my jaw....but actually using pressure on the spots you demonstrated, is an absolute God send. You're an angel!

I’ve only done this cycle once so far and holy crap did it feel great (especially for headache relief). Also, the 4th trigger point was a surprise to me on pain. Didn’t know that existed lol thanks so much going to do this daily hopefully!

    @MegaChadK The acupressure points relate to organs, but not always in a strict, Western medicine sort of way. It's more an associate with a number of characteristics traditional Chinese Medicine associates with the organ, so it's hard to say how connected it is. However, great news that it's helped with the TMJ. Internal massage of the jaw muscles with the fingers will also help.

  • @eeg122

    It felt really good. The last points were so sensitive. Ouch but it was a good ouch. Thank you for these pointers.

  • @massagebyheatherw
    @massagebyheatherw  12 ปีที่แล้ว

    @weesophz93 It's not a frequent reaction, but many of these points also affect the lymphatic system, and the sinus system in the head. That means they can affect your sense of balance if the inner ear and the fluid in there reacts to changes in the pressure.
