I love this scene. The way that Atreus keeps trying to get closer to Freya and how in spite of herself Freya keeps letting him inch his way there, their voices growing softer and warmer along the way, before she realizes she's actually about to let him in and pushes him out. The color of the fire even mimics this visually, moving towards a gentle orange when Freya is loosening up and then going hot blue when she's angry or tense. Freya has lost her son, Atreus has lost his mother. These are clearly people in need of one another. I do wish they played with that thread a little more, but do have a great little moment and a hug at the very end. It's nice.
Ya know in the old Norse mythology it was said that, Loki was a master of manipulation. An ability to convince someone & any one. No matter the situation or mentality they have in current position.
It's also because she would never kill a child out of revenge. Kratos was the one who decided to kill Baldur, not Atreus. Atreus was (and still is) a kid following his dad's orders and doing things to protect his loved ones. For all her grief, Freya's not a monster who would murder a child as a trade for the loss of her own.
Danielle Bisutti is really a talented actress and very scary here and also when she and Kratos were fighting and about to go to Vanaheim. Really reminds of that evil character role she played in the Insidious films
"What makes you think I won't do the same" 1. Because like Atreus says, "You're better than that" 2. Baldur's death wasn't even Kratos' or Odin's fault. If you had just given your son the will to feel, he would've still been alive. 3. Killing Atreus pretty much gets you killed. Like, I get that you wanna die and all cause you got nothing to lose, but if you've known how Kratos destroyed the greek pantheon with taking off Helios' head, then you're gonna wish you didn't mess with him. Cause he'll have more power and vengfullness than you if HE's got nothing to lose.
I was worried that we’d end up being made to kill her, but I was very pleasantly surprised with how things turned out. I’m curious what role she’ll have going forward; if they throw Kratos at another pantheon in future games they have to explain what Atreus, Mimir, and Freya are up to. They’ve become too integral as supporting characters to just brush aside.
Ah bullshit! The voice actor for Atreus is way better than Tom Holland. And he was at least roughly Atreus' age in the story so he sounds like a teenager. Unlike Tom Holland who looks eternally 12 while trying to play a 30 year old man aka Nathan Drake 😂😂 Omg that was worst casting in Hollywood history. I didn't even bother watching Uncharted because of it.
Atreus: he’d kill you!!!! Kratos in the Codex: I’m not happy about it but I’m glad Atreus had company. *scares the shit out of Sindri although he had no intention of hurting him in the first place*
I like this scene a lot but imagine if Freya wasn’t a good person and killed Atreus? I know it’d never happen but I’m just thinking about the nightmare that would’ve been unleashed, the people who made the game have said that old Kratos is stronger than young Kratos, he just holds back A LOT, so if Atreus had died things would’ve gotten even bloodier than the OG GoW games
This is all you can do? Fire arrows ? What happened to the reveal in the last game where Atreus caused a storm? Also how long are we forced to play as him ? I hope it's short cause tbh I'm not a fan of his abilities
His gameplay actually balances out kratos’. Atreus is also more sturdy somehow. I play very aggressively and kratos was always low health but not Atreus. Boy can take a hit

True but in this game Odin seems more like a god of manipulation and trickery than Loki
@@arun7998 Odin's more experienced, i take.
Odin was extremely manipulating in the methodology as well
Yeah but Loki uses his powers for good in this version.
@@lucasmartinez5703 yea, mythological Loki manipulate people for lol and misery, this Loki use it to help people and fixing stuff

No. She’s fundamentally a good person.
Atreus counted on her being “better than this,” and he was right.
@@FreemanicParacusia She's always had a soft spot for Atreus too. She wouldn't have killed him.
You kratos fanboys are going to get enough of thinking him getting mad means he’s gonna decimate everyome
Freya's actress nailed the homicidal look very good. Freya is hella scary at the beginning of the game.

Back to gow 2018 the moment kratos fixed his quiver with the arrow tip then freya burned em i knew it was gunna play a major part in the story
Hard to believe that the actress that portrays Freya is the same one who portrays the Woman in White from the Insidious franchise

Freya is the best character in the series other than maybe Kratos.
