this is how u know people are educated to be biased. she took baldurs life away the worst thing someone can do. if baldur took some type of drink that made him feel nothing and he acted the way he acted killing and fighting n everything and freya came with a potion yall would still feel the same way u do now as if theyre both done right. she took living from him just like odin took lives from his sons, she did too to baldur. if I were atreus I'd run cuz she doesnt even see that she is evil she really believes she has ANY right to be mad at anyone for giving baldur what he wanted. when the spell breaks she screams no which is proof that she was never sorry, she only cared for herself and how baldurs death would make HER feel n how SHE will be forever angry

She does not want to kill him.... her behaviour and body language states that she was trying to provoke him... what she really wants to be slain by Kratos. Which is why she wore the Valkyrie costume and attacked them... knowing Kratos would not hold back... until he figured it out and... well held back.
She gave up, found new purpose as the new leader of the Vanir and hopefully a new family with Kratos and Atreus and Mimir. I just wished she had some reunion with Baldr in the afterlife... who after death was supposed to become the new Allfather of the Afterlife and turn the afterlives into basically a Garden of Eden.
It would help her more... knowing her dead son is sane again and thrives as a ruler of a peaceful afterlife.

to be fair part of the whole character arc she has in the game is accepting the fact that Kratos was not to blame for her sons death and in fact may have very much been a mercy. After all the fates showed her killing her own son which shows how she actually blames herself for Baldur's death. it was HER who put that damned curse on him after all. The one that made him DESPERATE to die by any means necessary.
Then add in her FINALLY getting revenge on Odin and saving her land/people because of these two? Yeaaaa not surprised she calmed down.

Needs to maintain his cover, if “Tyr” directly supported going to Odin he’d raise peoples suspicions too much, so he simply argues against Ragnarock or any real offensive actions, leaving them with only two real options, either they do nothing, try to maintain the peace (which buys Odin time), or they send Atreus to Asgard/get Atreus to become desperate and feel isolated and go on his own to Asgard, which just puts the ball in Odin’s court.

These two as a couple, would not work. There's been moments when they conflict in a not healthy way and Mimir has been there to aid. Not only that, Kratos killed Baldur. That grief hurt and changed Freya forever. She has moved on, but will always be somewhat angry to Kratos, even though he's not one to blame. She has forgiven, but not forgotten it. And even though Faye's gone, Kratos still cares for her. There was no one else who could see him the way she did.

What is so frustrating about this ending, is that there is open questions still unanswered.
The mask and the green light is a clear nod to the higher existence that Athena obtained, but Kratos never makes reference of it, even though he should know there is something behind the realm tear. A god dying in sacrifice of another would infer Freyr also achieved this higher plane, given he saved everyone.
The resurrection of the giants, what came after that?
Was Baldur destined to come back from helheim like in the original story? Is he just permanently deleted? Resurrection of Baldur would be some way to square up with Freya.
The murals depicting Tyr from the first game - could they really be Kratos too, as he assumes the god of war mantle in Norse Realms?
Will kratos travel once he has rebuilt midgard ?
I think there's a good number of questions after the end credits.

    • @ctr1502

@@sammitchellchannel8944 a sequel in 4 years would be good to answer the giant questions, but not explaining the chekovs gun on the table (the mask) is a really big no no in story telling. Odin's ENTIRE motivation was to know what was beyond the tear. And the protagonist knows something. It should have been in the game.
There's little things I would overlook, like went faye being in the light, knowing you can pull people out of light and resurrect them. Kratos looking longingly at the light... he could pull her out and give her a post ragnarok life. There's a few things that really need unpacked.

I feel like a lot of those things tie back to Atreus' overall plotline that they built up in this game. A lot of people want a sequel spin-off for Atreus, so that would be where you'd get those answers since Kratos wouldn't care about that, but Atreus is still a very curious character. He may stumble onto something in the likes of Egypt while looking for the Giants there and reveal a larger conspiracy by Athena who might have set everything up to use Odin to corrupt Atreus so that Kratos will be killed by his own son. Then they can tie Kratos and all back into it later when Atreus needs his help. The ending mural, to me anyway, suggests that Kratos will help unite not just the nine realms but different pantheons against a joint threat to all of them; Athena.

@@lilchaos9212 Feels pretty obvious they'd make a sequal with Atreus as the main character and having Kratos a side charcter or just even a cameo at this point. The game ends with Atreus taking of on his own, after all

    • @ctr1502
      @ctr1502 ปีที่แล้ว +5

@@lilchaos9212 whilst that could be true, and a sequel would be fun (although atreus is nowhere near as fun to play as compared to kratos and would need a full on mechanics overhaul to last a game) it doesn't remedy the fact that if you bring up something like that in the story, it should at least be commented on. For example, Mimir was with him on the boat to get the BoC in GoW so he could have asked why he said the name... then kratos could've said he saw her and she spoke of a higher form of being back in Greece. These things are necessary in my opinion to really deal with the mask issue. It's really my main gripe. Other than no punch melee build options or skill tree lol.

freya is a very strong character. i love her due to her strong will and mercy. she didn't forget or forgive kratos and atreus, but she tried to understand the bigger picture in the game and learned to shift her gaze from just one enemy. might sound easy but in real life, that is very hard, even after losing her own child. she even decided to come back for vengeance.

    Let’s be honest
Freya is technically good mother .. she ain’t evil
Yes she went full “protective” in GoW 4
But makes sense … she loves her child, it would be very fuck up if she behaved like Odin who didn’t bother caring about gods dying or killing them even if they are their sons … so Freya being caring for Baldur makes sense
Also Atreus makes way better son for her.
