Instead of lashing out in rage at the world, she accepts it. Even returning the arrowhead to atreaus to show she's forgiven him and Kratos for the death of Baldur
@@noahscott7272 Lack of the shock arrows I think. Also there's no ability/relic/armor that let's your companion recover health crystals like Atreus could in 4
Mimir usually doesn't talk when it's Kratos and Atreus talking to each other. He respects his role as an uncle and Kratos and Atreus' private moment as father and son, but when Atreus dropped "asshole" I knew he wouldn't tolerate such absurd behaviour (especially given Odin and all that).
I really love how when Kratos and Atreus get into the argument about where he's been, Mimir steps into the conversation And Kratos Has Him Face Atreus. He doesn't interject or stop him, he lets him speak his mind cuz he has a point to make and allows him to scald the boy. It's small but it shows Kratos' respect for him and his view on the matter while also reminds us of the fact that Mimir saw Atreus grow up too and has the right to call him out on his bullshit. Its kinda funny but also... cute? Don't know if "cute" is the right word to describe anything in GOW
Wholesome, the word you're looking for is wholesome. In a strange way, sure, but I find it very wholesome that Mimir is essentially an uncle to Atreus, guess that him calling Kratos "brother" all the time really grew on him.
That's one thing Kratos has learnt. He respects people around him more and is considerate of them. Like for Mimir, he now lifts him up to a person when they're talking. He points them to their face. Earlier the poor gor just dangled off his hip while the other person talked to him. He also lifts him up for things Mimir would be interested in seeing. So he can form memories of his own too and be like a person rather than a tool
I'd say he did have that same energy when he had the big argument with kratos and mimir (hell everyone really) atreus may be in his teens but still even as one he isnt fully ready to realise his decisions yet especially making ones involving asgardians like thor and odin
Sony Game Devs:"OKAY how do we keep people invested besides our story plot and gameplay?" The Janitor:"Make them ship Freya and Kratos?" Sony Game Devs:*Slams hands on the table* "SOMEONE GET THAT JANITOR A RAISE!"
In case anyone didn't notice. The area where Atreus finds Freya again at the beginning is the Council of the Valkyries where you fight Sigrun in the first game.
I could see Kratos & Freya together eventually. After all the horrible shit the two of them had been through, I'd say they both deserve that happiness, once both of them have healed enough to be ready to love again. Besides, I kinda like how much of a motherly figure Freya is to Atreus.
And to top it off they are both gods, so they wont need to worry about dying ofnold age or a sickness...and wont need to worry about betrayal because both have mutual respect and understanding of each other...
I have to disagree. Let them just be friends/allies. My opinion: These two as a couple, would not work. There's been moments when they conflict in a not healthy way and Mimir has been there to aid. Not only that, Kratos killed Baldur. That grief hurt and changed Freya forever. She has moved on, but will always be somewhat angry to Kratos, even though he's not one to blame. She has forgiven, but not forgotten it. And even though Faye's gone, Kratos still cares for her. There was no one else who could see him the way she did. Both Freya and Kratos have suffered so much, that all they both need is rest and a family to be with (no romance involved)
I swear from darkness into the light , Atreus will be the wholesome side of loki. Even marvel tried to make there loki look the best in the light. But GOW Loki will far surpass that in terms of compassion, Justice and love . I hope they use Atreus for a plot point that resembles tyre more than kratos. We've seen what pure vengeance and rage can take out MC but imagine the "BEST case scenario for our future MC to develop into ? Haha my bad I'm drunk and I love GOW
Atreus will defenately be much much more like Týr growing up. A warrior with an open heart, but still the chaotic energy of his father and his rage. And way less calm and collected then Týr. A healthy ballance.
"Do not expect the same mercy for your father." Cuts to Kratos and Freya having a leisurely conversation while rowing a boat down the rivers in Vanaheim
Even though they said they’re done with Norse Mythology, I am hoping Freya will be a companion of Kratos both a fighting companion and romance. Kratos did ask Feya to join him in rebuilding. Freya was a great character. So I hope she will be A reoccurring one. Along with Mimir of course. I wonder what will happen to Atreus though. I think he made Sindri his own nemesis.
freya is a very strong character. i love her due to her strong will and mercy. she didn't forget or forgive kratos and atreus, but she tried to understand the bigger picture in the game and learned to shift her gaze from just one enemy. might sound easy but in real life, that is very hard, even after losing her own child. she even decided to come back for vengeance.
Everybody joining in to scold Atreus was so great. These are 4 of the most powerful (or smart) people ever, and they still can't control an unruly kid that's half-giant, half-Kratos lmao
What is so frustrating about this ending, is that there is open questions still unanswered. The mask and the green light is a clear nod to the higher existence that Athena obtained, but Kratos never makes reference of it, even though he should know there is something behind the realm tear. A god dying in sacrifice of another would infer Freyr also achieved this higher plane, given he saved everyone. The resurrection of the giants, what came after that? Was Baldur destined to come back from helheim like in the original story? Is he just permanently deleted? Resurrection of Baldur would be some way to square up with Freya. The murals depicting Tyr from the first game - could they really be Kratos too, as he assumes the god of war mantle in Norse Realms? Will kratos travel once he has rebuilt midgard ? I think there's a good number of questions after the end credits.
@@sammitchellchannel8944 a sequel in 4 years would be good to answer the giant questions, but not explaining the chekovs gun on the table (the mask) is a really big no no in story telling. Odin's ENTIRE motivation was to know what was beyond the tear. And the protagonist knows something. It should have been in the game. There's little things I would overlook, like went faye being in the light, knowing you can pull people out of light and resurrect them. Kratos looking longingly at the light... he could pull her out and give her a post ragnarok life. There's a few things that really need unpacked.
I feel like a lot of those things tie back to Atreus' overall plotline that they built up in this game. A lot of people want a sequel spin-off for Atreus, so that would be where you'd get those answers since Kratos wouldn't care about that, but Atreus is still a very curious character. He may stumble onto something in the likes of Egypt while looking for the Giants there and reveal a larger conspiracy by Athena who might have set everything up to use Odin to corrupt Atreus so that Kratos will be killed by his own son. Then they can tie Kratos and all back into it later when Atreus needs his help. The ending mural, to me anyway, suggests that Kratos will help unite not just the nine realms but different pantheons against a joint threat to all of them; Athena.
@@lilchaos9212 Feels pretty obvious they'd make a sequal with Atreus as the main character and having Kratos a side charcter or just even a cameo at this point. The game ends with Atreus taking of on his own, after all
@@lilchaos9212 whilst that could be true, and a sequel would be fun (although atreus is nowhere near as fun to play as compared to kratos and would need a full on mechanics overhaul to last a game) it doesn't remedy the fact that if you bring up something like that in the story, it should at least be commented on. For example, Mimir was with him on the boat to get the BoC in GoW so he could have asked why he said the name... then kratos could've said he saw her and she spoke of a higher form of being back in Greece. These things are necessary in my opinion to really deal with the mask issue. It's really my main gripe. Other than no punch melee build options or skill tree lol.
The person playing is a goat because I loved when they stopped rowing when Freya was telling kratos about how balder felt like he wasn't getting his father's approval.
I admit I’m a little disappointed that we didn’t get a small conversation with Sindri and Freya about the mistletoe arrow being his and that he was the one who gave it to Atreus. That would’ve been hilarious to witness with him constantly trying to apologize and her messing with him
If there will ever be a GOW3 I would break down in tears if Atreus and Freya had a moment to talk before another end of the world battle and she said something like. "Atreus, things have not been easy for any of us leading up to this moment, but if this is the end I just want you to know that that you are not a companion, not even a friend..., Because Atreus... you have become my son, and as long as I live I will fight and die to protect you just like your father as always done" It sounds cheesy I know but I really love the idea of Freya becoming a second mother to Atreus.
This comment almost mimics the one that Nyx has with Zagreus in the game Hades, how he views her as a mother figure, and Nyx loves him like her own child. Its so touching ;(
@@WolverWayne1 There is no trilogy, odds are we will get a gow game centered on Atreus/Loki searching for the giants but it will hardly be part of the Ragnarok saga.
8:37 If I saw this picture out of nowhere I would assume it’s about a father, a mother, they’re pet talking goat head and a Norwegian basketball player who is now a witch discussing with they’re son why he can’t go adventuring XD
I relate a fair bit to Atreus in the game. The annoyance of never being believed, the lack of approval from a parent (father or otherwise), and knowing no shortage of pain in his life. Hearing Freya tell Atreus that she was proud of the man he had become hit way too close to home for me, having never heard it from anyone before myself.
To be fair he brought that upon himself. He had no reason to promise Angraboda that he would keep Ironwood a secret and lie to his father. Kratos only stops believing him because Atreus lies and won’t tell him where he’s been.
(After many days of adventures) Kratos: good work today, Freya. I am tired. … why is there a ⭕️ above me? This only happens when- Freya: your boy needs a mother.
Almost like Kratos and Freya are Atreus’/Loki’s parents and they constantly argue, but want to have Atreus/Loki to themselves and raise him differently. Child custody.
Let’s be honest Freya is technically good mother .. she ain’t evil Yes she went full “protective” in GoW 4 But makes sense … she loves her child, it would be very fuck up if she behaved like Odin who didn’t bother caring about gods dying or killing them even if they are their sons … so Freya being caring for Baldur makes sense Also Atreus makes way better son for her.
To be fair, if I was gifted with magical abilities like her, in this day and age? Idk if I could keep myself from doing the same to my son in an attempt to keep him from harm.
Freya, Norse goddess of harvest and fertility, merciful paragon of femininity, upon looking at the spawn of a war god, responsible for countless deaths: "mine lol"
Atreus calls him his second father. Mimir was like the softer father figure while Kratos was the disciplinarian. In a way Mimir and Kratos raised Atreus for like 3 years.
Not the focus of the video but I love that when Atreus says the Giants called him Loki, Freya gives the same look everyone else does, “is that supposed to mean something to me? I don’t speak Giant, so unless it means Odin-killer, I don’t care.”
The fact that Mimir is so embedded in the family that he is the only one who can interupt/ join Kratos and Atreus's arguement WHEN KRATOS IS ALSO VERY MAD.
Freya: You still owe me a son, Kratos. Kratos: You will not be taking Atreus. The boy stays here. Freya: Who said anything about taking Atreus? Kratos:...Boy, I need you to leave the house for a few hours, and take Mimir with you. Freya and I have much to discuss. Atreus: What are you two going to be talking about? Mimir: Probably about where your future half-sibling is going to be sleeping at, I'd imagine. That cabin of yours is getting a wee cramped, after all.
I like that when Kratos is scolding Atreus for leaving, he takes Mimir off his hip so he can also scold him like they’re co-parenting
I mean they basically are 😂
So basically he said “I’m so mad at you, here Mimir you talk some sense into him now!”

Instead of lashing out in rage at the world, she accepts it. Even returning the arrowhead to atreaus to show she's forgiven him and Kratos for the death of Baldur

I find it to be a masterful move for Odin to take Kratos’ side in the argument
He was just a sly bastard
8:00 The fact that Kratos needed Mirmir to help lecture his uncontrollable teenage son 🤣🤣🤣
Always good to know that they've really become brothers.
mimir and freya were on kratos side, odin was an untrustworty person
Wholesome and human
You're getting a like for "Mimir steps into", and I definitely agree with you on your point.

Agreed
And to top it off they are both gods, so they wont need to worry about dying ofnold age or a sickness...and wont need to worry about betrayal because both have mutual respect and understanding of each other...
odds are Kratos and Freya will most likely end up creating an new pantheon of gods that are half Greek and half Norse.
@@ajizel13 kratos would still outlive freya tho. Just give or take 5000 years
I have to disagree. Let them just be friends/allies.
My opinion:
These two as a couple, would not work.
Get ready for a sequel
