Friendly reminder that little to no depictions of Angrboda actually exist. The ones that do exist are vague as hell and it's not easy to determine what the hell she's supposed to look like. True, the Norse probably didn't imagine her as black, but they also probably didn't imagine a Greek god showing up to their realm and throwing hands with their gods. Besides, each retelling of almost any myth massively changes depending on who tells it. There *is* no definitive version, especially considering most written records of Norse mythology were produced long after it was replaced by christianity as the dominant religion in Scandinavia. Giants in this game are also already massively inconsistent. There's people sized giants like Faye and Atreus and then there's Thaumur. The word 'Jotun' seems to apply to people by culture rather than any biology.
This really highlights how Atreus is turning out differently from his father. Kratos didn't listen to his first wife and later regretted his lack of mercy, whereas Atreus is mindful of Angrboda's wishes and is ready to accept letting go of his enemies once he's defeated them. Jotnar came in all shapes qnd sizes, and I mean literally ALL shapes and sizes. Some looked like regular mortals, some were giant humans, some were living landscapes, some were big trolls, some were tiny and goblin-like, and some were simply giant beasts(Skoll and Hati). Additionally, many jotnar were master sorcerers, such as Loki and Ùtgardaloki(the master of illusions)
@@marqueamore8467 it’s a comparison because a male & female companion are fighting for their lives against a giant monster; in Little Nightmares 1 & 2, it’s pretty much the same concept.
Atreus:She is so strong Lol I about died when he said this, because if she was that strong she definetly wouldnt even being struggling aganist 2 kids that havent even hit there ceiling in potential in a pull struggle
It is for Atreus. You have to remember that while Atreus has shown he's far stronger than even most low tier gods thanks to Kratos and Faye's bloodlines, and Angroboda is a full blooded giant, they're up against an elder giant. Even if she's weak and old, she's still a giant
gryla had a more intense reaction to her cauldron being destroyed than odin had to the mask being broken during ragnarok where he was fated to die. the most he did was a little old man yell and ask "what was it all for?" before proceeding to die lol
There are 10 story bosses 16 optional bosses (the Berserkers, Drakes, and Wyverns) 1 secret boss (Gna, the new Valkyrie queen) And 7 mini-bosses (Trolls, Drekki, Ancients, Phantoms, Hateful, the Huntress, and Alva) These are only the ones I know though, I've definitely missed a few.
@@austinstevenson7304 it's called an "adaptation." Things were never supposed to be one to one of the original mythology, just inspired by it. In this case, it'd make no sense for her to be a cannibal when all other giants (save her own granddaughter) aren't even around anymore.

Sometimes it is like that for some people, and it's really sad. Having a loved one tear you down like that is so so damaging.

Mine (on my father's side) did.
Ironically, it was when she lost it(alzheimer's) that she became nice.
If anyone's wondering on who voiced Gryla, It's Lady D apparently :D.
No, Maggie did the Bifrost Berserker. Gryla is Debra Williams.
how THE LADY D VOICED HER? A fictional character voiced her???
Damn I feel like watching a feature film not a game play 🔥🔥🔥
That’s not a good thing. Interactive movies don’t deserve to win game of the year you know…
@@afungai1649 Its called a story game
For those who wonder what's gonna happen to Grýla after this:
She's slowly recovering, it would seem. She's helping Angrboða forage for things in Járnviðr.
Can someone explain the size difference if they are related? I'm stumped
"Giant stuff"
Giant is just a loose term for a special kind of race since they were all of varying sizes.
Giant is giants the soul key is magic they can resize themselves
@@genesisnama5022 Cool, you can increase your dong size lol.

I like how this soul essence in the cauldron is purple like Hades' soul stealing claws in GOW3.
Went from God of War to Little Nightmares.
I don’t see the comparison other than a giant boss but okay.
@@marqueamore8467 it’s a comparison because a male & female companion are fighting for their lives against a giant monster; in Little Nightmares 1 & 2, it’s pretty much the same concept.
@@AlastorAltruistGaming little nightmares is literally not the first game was with that.

Her story hits so hard man ): I love angrboda
This game deserves game of the Year best at academy awards 😂 I love this game
Funny you should mention that because that's exactly what happened it literally got a prize for being game of the year there's a TH-cam video on it
What wolf does she have?? Is it fenrir or skoll or hati?
It's a random wolf
just a random wolf ashe can summon
Or a big fennec fox.
Gryla would be murdered if it's skool or hati the worse is Fenrir and their size difference
Ohhh okay gotcha gotcha thanks y’all jw lol I guess Atreus just got a thing for protecting wolves. Understandable tho his son is one lol
Debra Wilson showing everyone she got that range
Atreus:She is so strong
Lol I about died when he said this, because if she was that strong she definetly wouldnt even being struggling aganist 2 kids that havent even hit there ceiling in potential in a pull struggle
It is for Atreus. You have to remember that while Atreus has shown he's far stronger than even most low tier gods thanks to Kratos and Faye's bloodlines, and Angroboda is a full blooded giant, they're up against an elder giant. Even if she's weak and old, she's still a giant
Is it a charcoal Gryla or a propane Gryla?
gryla had a more intense reaction to her cauldron being destroyed than odin had to the mask being broken during ragnarok where he was fated to die. the most he did was a little old man yell and ask "what was it all for?" before proceeding to die lol
Never in a million years did i think i was gonna fight a giant black woman in god of war
@Sün Yook!ng bro what?
@@AdolfHitler-lk4vo wasn't she voiced by a black women
Careful with that shit my man
Got to say I love how atreus welcomes everyone either with his bow or with his knife
Remember in God of War Ragnarok when they made you fight a dementia ridden black grandma named gorilla? I remember that
😆😆
Why is it that when people refuse to let go, they all become a variation of Kratos?
Am I the only one who cried to this?
Black parents and grandparents actually look this big when you're in trouble🤣
Someday they will say, " Your grandfather was the God of War and Peace ".
Some day they will say "STFU" that day is today "STFU"
Good thing he doesn't become known as the god of Love and Peace. Then he'd have to start wearing all red and change his name to Vash.
@@HaddaClu Vash the Stampede? But but but ...
It's entirely another series.
And gun slinging is Bayonetta's and Dante's job, not Kratos.
Hard to believe this is the mother of the Yule Lads. If they ever make an Atreus spinoff game I wonder if he'll get to fight them?
the theme song and lyrics for Gryla's fight are just perfect
Black deities in Scandinavia, sure.
I love that Debra Wilson is the go to for diversity in your game to avoid "controversy"
“You’re pitiful giants! The both of you!”
I believe Gryla will later calm down after Ragnarok passes along with Odin's death.
Best sequence in the game for me
How many bosses are there? Feels like elden ring bosses
Thanks for been an amazing subscriber🤗 hmu on telegram ⏫⏫you have been selected on the ongoing giveawây 🎁
There are 10 story bosses
16 optional bosses (the Berserkers, Drakes, and Wyverns)
1 secret boss (Gna, the new Valkyrie queen)
And 7 mini-bosses (Trolls, Drekki, Ancients, Phantoms, Hateful, the Huntress, and Alva)
These are only the ones I know though, I've definitely missed a few.

Big momma ain't gonna cook crocodile this year
Gryla is actually like a female Krampus in Christmas legends
an actual god of war boss in the new god of war games and it has all its eyes anddoesn’t die a horrible horrible death
Break my heart in this scene
All kinds of Jack and the beanstalk energy
Enemies you want to kill but the game won't let you
Wasn't gryla supposed to be a cannibal? I don't think that was highlighted in this game.
Well there’s no other giants left
Yea they overlooked and changed quit a few things from real mythology just like they did for the original god of war games.
She isn’t black either
@@blem5376 how would you know she’s a stolen god from Africa.
@@austinstevenson7304 it's called an "adaptation." Things were never supposed to be one to one of the original mythology, just inspired by it. In this case, it'd make no sense for her to be a cannibal when all other giants (save her own granddaughter) aren't even around anymore.
