I had no idea she had a half-sister who struggled like that, and w/ whom she was so harsh. Her sister, Amber, must have had a really, really hard time out there in the world, that young and w/out a family. She must've been going thru hell to leave her home at that age and not come back for 9 years. And the lack of empathy over her not having finished HS while being homeless? And the nastiness over disability payments? They don't just give disability away bc you ask for it. I'd imagine she has some serious mental health challenges that are never the person's fault suffering thru them. Even getting on disability would've been a fight, struggle & victory, for someone in that situation.

The process had me near unaliving myself more than once. Nobody goes through that for kicks. And it's still not enough to live on.
Amen... Not to comment on their drama, just the disability (SSDI) process. It's hell to get. It's isolating. People judge you, especially when you have an invisible disability. We got to constantly be working on our disability and revert very often. Unfortunately you do see a person here and there abusing it and it gives so many others a bad look.
I had to apply twice, so no it isn’t easy. The fact that Amber got flack for that and dropping out of hs made my blood boil. I hope Amber is doing okay.

The fact that she met a man on Tinder who was homeless and fresh out of rehab, then got into a relationship with him and moved him into her home QUICKLY, but has zero empathy for her own sister?! That’s your BLOOD! Amber didn’t do anything wrong! She was a child in need of love, reassurance, and guidance! But she was shunned by her family. This is one of the biggest indicators of Mikliar’s poor character and that she came from an equally shitty family.

It’s disgusting. Show the real skin with the products so an accurate assessment can be made regarding their efficacy. Skin has pores, imperfections, and bumps. I hate to think about all the young people feeling bad about themselves because they can never achieve that look. It’s a lie.
@debramccord7707 I was one of those people! I had acne sooo bad so I feel for all kinds of crap that did nothing. Now I don't feed into any of the lies and marketing tactics! I try products on my own terms and don't fall into the trends anymore. But I agree, making it seem like the products are for all skin or will cover imperfections and using a filter/editing is just garbage!
She uses photoshop and filters to hide more than just bad skin, that's what the biggest lie is. Her features in real life are Much less Femine than the pics and videos would have you believe.

I live near her, she’s younger than me but she’s local enough where I know her circle. Her fake accent bothers me so much as she’s never had an accent and it sounds nothing like we actually do up here. I have a slight accent too but hers is exaggerated and not real whatsoever and it bothers me. She’s so so so fake and everyone knows it around here.

I grew up in suburban Boston and central MA. Her accent has *always* made me angry. It is so fake, and Why????
She sounds like she's badly imitating someone's great-aunt. Some 90yo woman with a heavy accent that's been a two-pack a day smoker since she was 15. It would be one thing if she was admitting she was putting on a character but it's weird AF to hear that voice coming out of a 20-something claiming that's just how she talks.
To appear "unique" apparently. But she's from the suburbs in the area where the population is predominantly Portuguese in lineage. The stereotypical Boston accent is derived from the Irish accent of most of the population's lineage in that area.

As someone who fought for three years thru two denials and an appeal hearing in disability law court in order to get my disability approved, Mikayla's half-sister absolutely did not just live off disability with all of the ability to work. If she got approved, she deserves every penny.
Oh also, the monthly payments leave you destitute. It is no pay day. I get $943 to live off of the entire month. It is too much to qualify for more than $60 in EBT for food but too little to pay for rent and the food my body deserves to consume. If I did not have my grandparents to rent from, I would be unhoused and likely in a ditch somewhere, due to the severity of my disabilities.
F Mikayla for believing the impression the adults in the situation gave her about her sister's life and perpetuating the rhetoric about the "laziness" of disabled folks well into adulthood.
Thank you, I couldn't say it any better myself. As the disabled black sheep of my family, my heart ached for her sister. Mikayla is no better than the careless, selfish parents who raised her.

After watching all 10(?) weeks of the Karen Read trial where pretty much everyone had a super strong Boston accent I feel like it is safe to say that Mikayla's accent is exaggerated to an insane degree.

Getting disability is extremely difficult and not something someone can just get bc they don’t want to work. If you’re on disability, you’re disabled.
This is a great point! My mom fought for disability for 6 years and finally got it. Thank God she was finally approved, but you're right it's sooo hard to get it.
Not only that, but its not even enough to live on! My mom gets $1100 per month after fighting for 5 years to get it

I actually just spent the last 3 weeks searching for another quality, budget friendly skincare regimen because the one I was using sent me a text ad with her repping the product. @Analaigh22 in recent years I got back in contact with my younger brother, who I had last seen when I was 12...literally 30 yrs! On our first meeting, he suggested we go for dinner. While we sat talking, he said that he would always tell our bio mom that he wished he had a sister. She never once mentioned that he already had an older sister...and a brother. She abandoned me and my brother with my grandfather and his 2nd wife. She had full access to us throughout our childhood, even after my pap died. The first time I remember meeting her was when I was 4, and she brought my newborn baby brother to meet his gramps. I'm not saying that I believe Mikayla's narrative, but I *AM* saying that there are some truly awful parents out there who get in a new relationship and then completely leave their previous life in the dust. Case in point my birth mother who called our house when I was 9 and told me over the phone that her new husband didn't want her to have anything to do with her "half-breed" kids. That was the last interaction I had with her until I randomly ran into her when I was 18.

I’m so sick of ignorant people speaking about those who receive disability as if it’s just handed out to anyone. Even if you have one of the conditions that they accept to receive disability, you will still very likely get denied. You then have to go through the appeals process. I have watched multiple family members of mine with debilitating health issues go through the process. Even if you do manage to get disability, they give you next to no money to live on.

Disability a) is not easy to qualify for and b) does not even pay enough to live on. So if her sister was truly receiving disability payments, the likelihood that she’s perfectly capable of keeping gainful employment is slim.

Bostonian here! Will say my “r”s (not sure if that’s proper)… are not as clear as most. I will say the more I drink the more they disappear. Also, the angrier I get, well you can tell. However… she has the Hollywood version of the Boston accent. Horrible, blasphemous, and just icky.

She’s a beauty influencer, they sell by placing the products upon themselves: their physical appearance is both their canvas, their pedestal and their monetary medium. Her physical perception is very relevant. *Not her looks* but her physical perception especially the perception of how the product lays upon her.
Agreed there are jobs in this world where your body or physical appearance in some way is your advert that makes money - hairdressers have great hair, personal trainers have a physique that indicates that they at least like exercise etc. I like make up content where the creator doesn't go excessive theatrics about loving a product (like it's a Love Honey ad 😂) and I can see their real skin and dark circles and oily zone etc so I can make a (potential) informed purchase.
