6:36 cadaver dogs aren’t trained to sniff out blood. They’re trained to sniff out specific chemicals that only human remains give off. These chemicals are cadaverine and putrescine. (Which is why they wouldn’t hit on a deceased animal or bodily fluids of an animal, as they don’t release the same composition of chemicals). These chemicals can be found in human blood after death and the dogs can pretty precisely locate these chemicals regardless of how much or how little there is, but the dogs are not trained to specifically sniff out blood.
Also I’m not trying to come off as rude, just sharing information. I worked with a rescue squad for four years and gained this information from search and rescue jobs that required the cadaver dogs.

I'm very sympathetic about the flood. I've lived through one myself this year. This spring in my small city Orsk in Russia we had a massive flood. A lot of people lost their homes. I personally was lucky enough not to, but we didn't have any water for almost 2 weeks. Only bottled water was available in the stores and it was barely enough for all the people here. So my heart goes to all Americans that lost their homes this week 🙏
I SINCERELY doubt she keeps the majority of her audience around for long. She just happened to share an experience that went a lot more viral than it ever should have because people wanted to know what was in the rug. Just because she had a viral moment, that doesn't mean she's going to have sustainable success. People will forget about her and her empty rug before Thanksgiving.
