  • This is how to get started with crocheting! You only need a small skein of worsted weight yarn, acrylic is fine, and a size H (5.00mm) crochet hook! A size up would be alright too! You can actually find that stuff at dollar tree for a few bucks!
This video touches on how to make a slipknit, how to chain, single crochet, double crochet, and half double crochet and includes some tips for holding and tensioning the yarn.
    ch chain
    sc single crochet
    dc double crochet
    hdc half double crochet

Been crocheting for a while now and I LOVE IT 🤎💜 My only struggle right now is my tension - crocheting between too tight and trying not to loosen too much. I know you can create your own tension regulator, which helps abundantly for us crocheters. And thank you for creating a very simple slipknot 🤣 - there's so many videos on TH-cam that show fancier ways to making a slipknot - which was tricky for me, so I did the most basic slipknot I could think of.
Some may look at me funny, but I recommend buying a set of crochet hooks on eBay. There's no need to spend a hefty amount for a beginner just getting started. Crochet should be fun, not stressful. Don't ever look at your work as horrible - you will loose motivation, and set aside your project. Keep going, and don't sweat it, because you will improve throughout your journey 💕

I'm an absolute beginner to crocheting, and found your video helped me more than the others I watched. Any ideas for a small project I could get started with? Looking forward to seeing more of your videos!

Happy to hear it was helpful! Honestly, getting some cotton yarn and just working on some basic rows is a great start bc even if they turn out wonky they still make great dish rags 😄

Just started to crochet and became frustrated. My 88 year old mom was teaching me still couldn’t get it. Great video
