How to Crochet Chevron like Grandma Did

This video will walk you through crocheting chevron, those neat zig zags blankets! Bonus points, I'll show you how to add some granny squares to your chevron AND how to fix an accidental miscalculation in your initial chain without having to frog all your work!
This is based off the blanket my grandma was making for me which I was tasked with finishing when she passed away November 2022. Some people don't like the gaps in chevron; I personally do. So this tutorial will give you the easy math to get started (because yes you need to math out your starting chains, but I promise it's not complex!) and show you how to make the chevron both with and without gapping.
I'm not sure what pattern my grandma was using, so I can't really cite a pattern source of origin, plus chevron has been around for ages. I also had to figure out the math to make it work getting started!

It's all Red Heart Super Saver Yarn, the brown is Coffee, the purple is literally just called Purple, the tan color is Buff, and the green is Medium Thyme :) Sorry for the delayed response, it took me a while to find the skein remnants to get the names!
